This week's episode could've been better. It wasn't completely bad, but it fell flat on many levels. Maybe it's the weakest episode so far on season 2.

It wasn't the episode a lot of people expected but the second one set the tone for perhaps future episodes with the wand.
Also, did anyone else notice the parallel that Star is becoming less reliant on the wand while Ludo is becoming more reliant/capable with it? Could this be an important theme when the two characters meet later in the season?
Also, wand is affected by the emotional state of its user. Star vs Ludo duel of wands can be very interesting...maybe get something like the end of Harry Potter GoF

Feel like a broken record saying this by now, but the promo gives me a good feeling about the episodes next week. It finally looks like we're getting a one off side character who's actually interesting. Hopefully she can add something to the Star and Marco dynamic that the other one off characters didn't.

Nothing is worse than Fetch and Red Belt, those two are real bottom of the barrel episodes.
The episodes this week were alright if nothing else, they had good parts to them, a good number of the jokes got a chuckle out of me. It's just the same issues that other episodes this season have had, namely too much exposition that's told not shown, random one off characters who add nothing and hog screen time for absolutely no benefit and the main fucking dynamic which made the show good in season 1, that being Marco and Star's dynamic, has barely had any screen time.

See, it feels to me like they're fucking up their own story line with all these episodes focusing on not using the wand too much. Star should have been using her wand too much early on and have the effects of the cleaving shown to the viewers. Things like spells not going like they should, random bursts of energy and other negatives that reinforce that something bad is happening. That way it doesn't have to be blatantly spelled out with straight forward dialogue which kills the pace of episodes. Then Star can learn much more gradually to let go of the wand's influence and use her own abilities in a much more natural manner, as opposed to seemingly learning all that stuff and then abusing the wand when it's on the fritz.

It was entertaining but not what I was expecting and could have been better
And that weird woman in the creek has zero relevance other than calling the cops to in for them on where Star is. Its not as weak as Red Belt, but pretty low on my favorites list so far this season.
