If the earth is growing, so is our sun. Don't you guys know the reason Mars is "dead" is because the sun had a new baby, Mercury, that pushed all the planets out further. Earth will be the next Mars and Venus will be the next earth, capable of supporting life. When the planets get pushed out too far they hit the asteroid belt which forces these small rocky planets to break up and explode into gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn. Once the planets get pushed too far out they shrink and become frozen and eventually break free of the sun to become plutoids and comets.
