WTF, I hate hipster movies now
idk OP that pretty much nails it, although I dont know if I know what the fuck Submarine is
Richard Ayoade's movie
>Amelie
>hipster
>Scott Pilgrim
>not hipster
what kind of retarded shit is this?
Scott pilgrim is fake geek, not hipster
No hipster would watch this shit, too normie
I literally like every one of those movies
guess that means your gay now, sorry dude
Scott Pilgrim is literally the most hipster movie I can imagine and it's fucking shit
That's because you're a normie who doesn't know any truly hipster films.
It doesn't try to be deep or send a political message, it's just a fake geek thing.
what are some trve hipster films for trve hipsers?
putting llewyn on that list personally offends me
Damn.
Lost in Translation is my favorite movie of all time.
Inside Llewyn Davis was fucking boring and his songs were so shit.
I very much liked The Royal Tenenbaums
Additional Hipster Kino:
Life of Pi
Jobs
Requim for a Dream
So should I hate Her and Lost in translation? I liked them before, but if they are hipster...
Pretty accurate.
they might not be hipster but they are one hundred percent nu-male core. tread lightly my friend
You better hope you never see me in public with that weak ass taste because I would embarrass the fuck out of you so bad no girl would even breathe on you, you're going into fucking chastity.
Llewyn Davis is a hipster movie to the extent that the protagonist is constantly trying to affect pretension and meaning despite not possessing either?
>no girl would even breathe on you
I don't need you to do that, my dude. I've already done it myself.
>no mublecore films
>hipster
pick one and only one
Frances Ha is the first one on the list.

I'm glad I only watch Superhero movies, I don't have to worry about ever being a hipster.

I'm not a hipster, but I really, really love Submarine, Her, Inside Llewyn Davis, Tenebaums and even Garden State to an extent, and I legit teared up in Davis and Tenenbaums.
Also, I would have replaced Frances Ha with Greenberg.
It's actually legit really fucking good. If you're posting on this shit hole you'd probably enjoy it.
Garden state 8.5/10 ???
the rest is ok i guess
Amelie is more normie/tumblr. It would be suitable for a Lady Hipster thread.
Scott Pilgrim is just fucking cringe worthy garbage for socially akward retards. It's almost anti-hipster.
You literally have no idea what a hipster is.
Scott Pilgrim is almost aggressively not hipster.
It's fedora core - Reddit.
Thanks, but I only post here ironically.
I mean, it does make perfect sense though.
In the same vein as Llewyn Davis (and sorely overlooked/forgotten) was Jesus' Son.
Why do people on this board like Inside Llewyn Davis so much? Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but everyone on Sup Forums seems to REALLY love it.
more like top 10 pleb movies, the only one that is kinda good is Her
I was the right age when I saw it.
I think this MIGHT just qualify too;
How can they be hipster films if all of them are the definition of entry-level?
that's the joke
[captcha: hats]
Because it's one of the best Coen brothers films, making it a genuinely great film on it's own merit, and also because I'm sure a large contingent of the board can awkwardly relate to it.
Her is a funny, touching and accessible movie
Only thing hipster about it is the costume design
Frances Ha - 7/10
Garden State - 3/10
Her - 7/10
Llewyn Davis - 7/10
500 Days - 4/10
Submarine - 8/10
Eternal Sunshine - 10/10
Royal Tenenbaums - 9/10
Juno - 4/10
Lost in Translation - 9/10
it's really really good.
But it excels in style and setting and tone, where other films can only compare through having better scripts and writing. I think that the naturalistic script in ILD actually serves to hide the lack of interesting plot or dialogue.
ESOTSM is like the inverse of ILD
Lost in Translation is the best of these, imo desu desu.
>Lost in Translation - 9/10
you have bad taste my friend, or you are a woman
>Garden State lower than 500 Days and Juno
>LiT 2 full points above Davis
I cannot agree.
>Sunshine 10/10
Who hurt you user? Will she take you back?
The dialogue exchanges between Llewyn and his ex-girlfriend are as good as anything in ESOTSM.
>Lost in Translation is the best of these, imo desu desu
Because of this?
>Her
3/10
>500 Days of
2/10
>Eternal Sunshine
7/10
>Royal Tenembaums

>Juno

>Lost in Translation
Haven't given it a watch in a long ass time.
Haven't seen most of 'em, but seeing the criteria I might as well not.
imagine still saying hipster
Whats the new "hipster"?
Cucks/SJW is my best guess. Pretty worn off shit.
"Alt-Right"
Same haircuts and contrarian attitude at any rate.
imagine still being triggered by hipster. face it Sup Forums, you lost
liked 7 of those. haven't seen the other 3.
This and so much more.
S'cuppola basically built a heartstring-pulling machine, encased in a very competent production.
Nah, that's the new "fedora".
>Lost in Translation
>hipster movie
How?
I thought that was Antifa?
>I thought that was Antifa
You should go outside
Because it's by hipsters, about hipsters and for hipsters featuring hipster aesthetics and preoccuptations.
It's even backgrounded by hipster gossip, given the relation to Spike Jonze AND it was even publically hated by contrarian hipster god Vincent Gallo.
Which reminds - How is this not on the list?
What difference would that make?
lol, the bad guy had a picture of Richard Spenser in his room. These people read too much clickbait like Huffpo
Most people don't gives two shits about Antifa, this site gives them more attention than anyone. Alt-right has somehow been pushed everywhere though.
Not just a picture, a POSTER.
Right...but normies didn't know or care what Fedoras were either.
For some reason in the late period of Fedoraism I saw them equating them with misogynists.
>cgi posters
jesus
What an ugly fuck.
It's like someone read an article about Trump supporters being "Alt-Right", and then just googled the term and threw everything they saw in images into a music video.
>Nazi flag
>Hitler giving a salute
>Autistic E-Celeb that no one outside the MSM cares about
>shit ton of guns
>maps for some sort of evil right wing plan
only if you like it because of how disgusted it made you feel at first then changed into weird combination of pity and sympathy.
Where would you even find real ones?
>Right...but normies didn't know or care what Fedoras were either.
What? Fedoras jokes were being made everywhere.
The string map was fucking awesome desu.
Also;
>Hackers in balaclavas
>Single light in a dark room
>Laptop in a steel briefcase
fucking kek. this is my new favorite video.
By everywhere you mean reddit and Sup Forums.
No, I mean people laughing at youngish people wearing fedoras on college campuses, malls and bars.
same. it was also the last movie I saw in a theater.
>not including moonrise kingdom
is it bad that i have all shirts with graphics from all wes anderson movies?
I'll watch it ONLY if they've included a clip of an exploding van.
I liked Her, Lost and Translation and Garden State. Wasn't really impressed with any of the others although I haven't seen Inside Llewyn Davis.
moonrise does have plenty of quirky hipster elements, but its story is too well put together and sensible, and it is consequently extremely accessible to the general population. I'd call it a soft/gateway hipster film.
>“Inside Llewyn Davis”
>>Not the best Coehen brothers movie.
>>>Not the anti cape shit movie.
>inside llewyn davis 10/10
Yes, you are correct sir.
I unironically enjoy the films of Wes Anderson
>watchmojo
What are you doing to yourself, OP?
Primer?
the life aquatic
me too m8
Frances Ha 9/10
Garden State 4/10
Her 9/10
Insdie Llewyn Davis 8/10
(500) Days of Summer 6/10
Submarine 5/10
Eternal Sunshine 8/10
Royal Tenenbaums 7/10
Juno 5/10
Lost in Translation 7/10
Lost in Translation, Royal Tenenbaums, and (500) Days of Summer are consistently overrated.
Her and Inside Llewyn Davis are not hipster, just feature hipster-like characters.
>no French New Wave
>no Bergman
>no Lynch
>no Spirit of the Beehive
>one mumblecore
Do you even hipster?
Can't help but say it whenever that stupid Stella Artois commercial comes on
>Lost in Translation
What's so hipster about this? It's a great mainstream film.
Are you really that retarded?
Hipsters are typically dilettantes
Not enough superheroes for you?
Girls love Lost in Translation, pal.
Because hipsters gravitate towards it.
To be honest, if you haven't already seen all ten of those movies you probably aren't really into film and shouldn't be posting on this board.
>>no Lynch
This. Every single basic bitch who thinks they're "alt" constantly spout Twin Peaks memes
I forgot I even watched it lel but it is a good movie.
Same. I really don't think it belongs. Just saw it last night. I mean, it portrays hipster culture, but that doesn't make it a hipster movie. It actually lambastes hipsters.
> thinking nerd subculture is the same as hipster
Embarrassed for you mate, you must be really spergy to have never noticed the difference
hipsters love nerd shit and video games, don't fucking tell me there isn't a huge overlap between the two
