A dead genre

Good:
>28 days
>28 weeks
>Dawn of the dead
>Rec 1 original
>Train to busan

Okay:
>Survival of the dead

Shit:
>pretty much everything else?

Unknown, but actually better than Walking Dead:
>Dead Set

28 still takes the cake for atmosphere conveyed

This
Shoot your film with a shitload Canon XL1 DV cams so you can move quickly to get the shots at 4-5am in the morning and make it seem as you have a lot of angles of emptiness, not just one direction.

Convey an extreme sense of loneliness in an otherwise bustling city.
Danny Boyle really does his best work on a shoestring budget.

train to busan is only good for the first half, then it becomes completely goofy.

>zombieshit
>good
>ever
no

absolutely. shame I cant even find some HD pictures of the intro scenes.

ur right, it falls off and i feel it could have been better.
I watched it with subs, one part intrigued me a bit
Kim calling the dad:
>tell me it wasnt our plants that caused this

the fuck did he mean by this? this was bad translation right?

i think he meant cheap 1st person horror kino

Just watched it a couple days ago, I was so disappointed in how it just got worse and worse as the movie went on after the first half

>28 weeks later
>good

stopped reading

>no dead alive
>no return of the living dead
shit taste

No I meant entertaining and decently made spins on the genre which is otherwise ridden with garbage and C movies

yes it felt like at the half point it suddenly tried to be as hollywood as possible. a real shame

ones a trashy splatter movie and the other is a.. comedy?

why would i even bother

You have to be over 18 to post here, bub

you have to be 28 days old to post here, bub

im probably older than u

FUCK
YOU

probably samefags

28 days later isn't a zombie movie

OP here did I miss anything in my list?
or do u disagree? why?

try watching movies made before 1995

Never claimed it was. Infected, undead - it belongs in the genre tho.

>28 weeks later
>good
Otherwise, decent list

Good:
>House by the Cemetery
>Zombi 2

I am a hero was good.

+1

Infected =\= undead. It's a virus movie not a zombie movie. More similar to Contagion than Dawn of the Dead

I only like well made flicks with a believable setting and good atmosphere. I dont celebrate trashy splatter c-movies.

That said, name anything watchable from that time and genre besides Romero's, please.

Planet Terror you fuck

yes user, we are all aware that infected are not undead and that there is a difference. I never said its a zombie movie.

Then why did you group it with zombie movies and imply it was in the genre by saying "dead genre"?

the dad's company was doing some medicinal or nuclear shit (can't remember which) but one of their products bombed so they dumped it all.

kinda implies that it was all his fault

its a wordplay. the genre is dead. and whatever the name for the genre may be, 28 also qualifies to be in it.
all movies of this genre are comparable in their concepts.

Every zombie movie is a virus movie but not every virus movie is a zombie movie. And your list is purely zombie movies. Doesn't belong, you're wrong, have a nice day

>contageous disease turns humans into bloodlusting animals

this can literally be applied to every movie in my list. you are wrong you autistic manchild.

Zombies don't have a bloodlust like the infected from 28, they have a hunger for flesh (which the infected in 28 don't). not the same

Dead Set is fantastic OP, good call. Perfect update to the locational allegory and behaviour of people from Dawn of the Dead

Also good:
>Pontypool
>Zombieland
>Shaun of the Dead
>All the Evil Dead films, if they count

And, reading the thread, OP is autistically setting rules after an ambiguous first post. Good work OP, you're a faggot.

>setting rules

what do u even mean

> Train to busan
> Good
Youre braindead like zombie, choke on kimchi

Dead alive is amazing. You take that back

it was the best that has come up in this genre in almost a decade so id say its good.

>zombies

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

user in yesterdays thread suggested I am a hero.
I watched it. it's pretty good

this

I liked The Battery, it was a decent indie zombie flick.

In The Flesh (BBC zombie drama).
It's actually very good even though it's not like full on violent... more of a drama than anything, but it's really good and underrated.

>Zombieland.

Way to ruin your list with reddit trash.

>Survival

I meant to write Diary actually.

inb4 le reddit shaky cam shit comments

Because they're fucking awesome?

>Not original Romero trilogy
>Not Return of the Living Dead
>Not Zombi 2
>Not Brain Dead/Dead Alive
>Not Shaun of the Dead

Are you even trying?

>No savini's night of the living dead.
Plebs.

>A dead genre
Oh ho! I see what you did there.

>the trilogy
ofc
>rest
havent watched any comedy ones and id prefer some substance other than red jelly.

It's yo boi, game boi!!!

To me it was like a movie where they had half of it completely planned out upon which they were given funding and a deadline and everything just fell apart.
