So when I saw this picture for the new Pixar movie Inside Out...

So when I saw this picture for the new Pixar movie Inside Out, at first I thought the characters were three women and two aliens, but after seeing the trailer I realized the purple and red things were supposed to be dudes. After tracing their faces, I figured out why I was so weirded out:

The two male characters have extremely distinctive face shapes, while the three female characters basically have the exact same shape; round with a small nose.

Now everyone has read about the Elsa/Anna/Rapunzel face debate, but I wanted to see just how far this face thing went. And boy does it go far.

>Wanting freakish bizarre looking women among your alien-looking creatures
Does this look like Steven Universe or something?

Yeah, and all the female beasts in video games still look human and feminine.
It's not exactly a new phenomenon.

I took pictures of both male and female characters from recent Disney/Pixar movies:

And then traced both of them. Look at the diversity of male face shapes:

AND THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING RIDICULOUSNESS THAT IS SHOWN HERE:

WHAT

THE

FUCK

Just take a second to scroll up and look back at the original pictures in case you think I’m joking.
Apparently every Disney woman is a clone/direct descendant of some primordial creature with huge round cheeks and a disturbingly small nose, because there is no other explanation (yes there is(it’s lazy sexism)) for the incredible lack of diversity among these female faces.

DISNEY.

WHY DOES EVERY WOMAN THAT YOU HAVE CREATED IN THE LAST DECADE HAVE THE EXACT SAME FACE SHAPE? AND DON’T TELL ME IT’S BECAUSE WOMEN ARE HARDER TO ANIMATE. STOP ASSUMING EVERY WOMAN HAS A ROUND BABY FACE AND A SHORT CUTE BABY NOSE. YOU CAN’T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

TL;DR: Boys in animated movies have faces that are square, round, skinny, fat, alien-looking, handsome, and ugly. The only face that girls get to have is some round snub-nosed baby face. That’s not right.

all the characters should be based on shapes, but for some reason the female characters have to look much more human than the males ones so porn will be produced

I agree with your point overall, but by painting all the women's in red, your overemphasizing your point and fucking it all up.

Some of those women's shapes are totally fine and would fit with the men's category of facial diversity, but you decided to color them red anyway to prove a point. You don't need to do that. 3/4's of all women's faces being fucking identical is still really bad. Being honest about that last 1/4 that actually could be colored green doesn't impede that.

I also want to mention that you're needlessly not including characters that would show that the female face does have OCCASIONAL diversity in their movies.

Like the sharp angles and cheekbones of mother gothel, or Edna Mode's thin chin and upturned nose.

>muh misogyny

Hello tumblr.

Now this is autism.

>people are seriously gonna take the bait and argue.
>this thread will probably be around long enough to autosage

fucking hell guys.

...

It is impolite to regurgitate in public, you know.

91,296 people beg to differ.

That seems right. The male faces are mostly long and pointy while the female faces are round and short. It's Disney and Pixar's stylistic choice.

You're autistic.

Let's be real, if they drew women as they actually are right now nobody would want to see female characters in anything anymore, because most of them are overweight, ugly, and middle aged with giant foreheads and beady eyes.

I dunno, man, maybe it's just me, but most girls are ugly as fuck, even the "10/10" ones that look like fucking ayy LMAO clowns. Making all the animated women look like idealized baby faced women is a service.

The men have round, square, and triangular because you included both heroes and villains. The women are mostly round because you picked mostly heroes.

Where's Ursula, Maleficent, Mother Gothel, Cruella, Madame Medusa? They all different head shapes from your standard Elsa. Why didn't you include the Witch from Brave for that matter? I know you were trying to be consistent with picking only CG, the problem is there have not been a lot of girl villains lately in Disney or Pixar, so you're going to HAVE to resort to 2D for more examples.

It's true that designing women is a little bit more stagnated than men, but you also exclusively picked from Disney who are PURPOSELY trying to make girls who don't look ugly in movement, because they want the little girls to like their design and buy their dress for Halloween. Kids are superficial as fuck, don't you remember like Marie the best out of the Kankers because "she was the pretty one"?

The designs are all archetypes in their own way. Woah, Mr Incredible and The Brave Dad are strong, they will have square jaws! Wow, the Ratatoullie Chef is a villain, give him a pointy chin. But make the Hero Chef, Linguini, have a round chin to contrast it!

If anything, this list just shows how incredibly textbook Disney-Pixar is with their design choices.

I know Shaggy. I'm sorry.

Nigga why are you replying to something copypasted from a 17 month old tumblr post?

>Nigga why don't you know every copypasta on Sup Forums? Don't you spend every waking second on here since the site launched?

You sound charming.

>all the language in the OP suggests Inside Out is still considered brand new, to the point that trailers are airing for it
You'd have to be denser than a black hole or the OP himself to assume it was genuine.

Even if OP was copypasted, it's still an actual idea that could merit a discussion, albeit not from the shitty argument the Tumblr post provided.

How exactly is OP using a Tumblr post to start a convo any different than half the fucking threads at Sup Forums that bait with a Twitter pic or Rotten Tomatoes screenshot? Seriously, what's the difference? We're still responding to shit that someone actually believes, even if they aren't here right now.

>leftout the females withdifferent faceshapesand the maleswith similarones
come on man, you cando better than that

OP how are you supposed to recognize something as female unless you vaguely want to fuck it?

Yes actually I want that. It's more visually interesting.

SU's problem is that it's art style is kinda crappy though.

Or maybe in the closet.

It's ok to be gay bro.

Oh wow, OP, it's as though you've stumbled upon a commonly known fact regarding human psychology or something.

how long until this picture shows up on reddit or buzzfeed?

Anyone got that pic comparing dreamworks girls to disney girls?

Or the French chick of Ratatouille.

Thank you

>I want everything to be the same

you are a PLEB

No fuck off, don't respond to pasta you dummy

Have you faggots ever stopped to think that maybe this has something to do with basic human psychology?

What if there's a neurological reason that mishapen women don't sell well?

>It's true that designing women is a little bit more stagnated than men, but you also exclusively picked from Disney who are PURPOSELY trying to make girls who don't look ugly in movement, because they want the little girls to like their design and buy their dress for Halloween. Kids are superficial as fuck...

Don't act like it's not "people" in general. You don't have crazy obsessed fans and waifu/husabando wars over the "ugly ones". We just give prettier/cuter people more slack than less attractive ones. You can be an outright monster in whatever work you're in and still get a pass if you're considered hot.

And this is especially true of women, who get judged more on their looks than guys.

I mean, it's not great, just like loving the hell out of sugary drinks and salty snacks isn't great, but trying to deny that we're like this in general and trying to pawn it off on "children (or some other group that isn't me) are shallow" just obfuscates the real motivations.

>the real motivations
What "real motivations"?

For fucks sake, it's basic biology. Body shape for women matters much more for reproduction for men, thus both men and women have psychological inclinations towards particular forms for women.

All of this stems from that.
Why does this even need to be pointed out?

I summon Nature vs Nurture, in defense mode

>>What "real motivations"?

The motivation you just layed out.

I know it's natural extension of human behavior. That's why I compared it to craving sugar and salt, which is also basic biology.

But the poster I was replying to tried to make it seem like this kind of stuff only affects kids. As if kids are the only people who can fall for a pretty face or are the only ones who will buy more/less merchandise because they find a character attractive/unattractive.

We feel we need to protect little girls from imperfect versions of themselves.

Yes, I too agree that we need to protect little girls from tumblr.

I think that Tumblr would be way more interested in this patriarchy shit than Sup Forums

men in entertainment can be as diverse and different and can have endless possibilites of stories and appearances

women just have one,and it is designated to please the male gaze

Riley has a big nose.

Men in general can get away with being uglier than women. It's not just in media.

An less conventionally attractive man can have more success with more conventionally attractive woman than vice versa.

That's because she's the only Jewish Disney character.

Nice observation stolen from somewhere else. Now fuck off.

Because men learn at a very early age not to rely on their looks for success.

>all these people that immediately recognize some tumblr post
Sup Forumsmblr truly is real. Good job outing yourselves.
