>be American college student >learning Russian >transfer schools, Russian language no longer offered >still really want to learn it, start looking for international programs >see study abroad opportunity in Estonia >very interested, but Estonian is very different from Russian, so I wouldn't be as immersed in the language >like 25% of Estonians speak Russian, but I feel like I might have to seek them out to practice my language skills

Jacob Morris
As far as I know Tallin and Narva are majority russian speaking.
Thomas Moore
The 25% are Russians living in Estonia. If you want to find an Estonian who can speak Russian you need to find an older person because the youth speaks mostly only English and very little Russian.
Tallinn doesn't have a Russian majority though
Jaxon Fisher
By majority I mean that more than 50% will speak russian to me if I start conversation in russian, not being actual ethnic russians.
Xavier Johnson

what if I were to seek out specifically Russian establishments populated with Russian people?
Nathaniel Carter
I guess that depends on whether you're a bad enough dude to win over groups of poor, bitter, disenfranchised people from an alien culture.
Nathaniel Parker
Tartu has a fairly small russian speaking population unfortunately. You'd probably be more likely to find a Russian student studying there
Ian Evans
Tartu is pretty much all Estonian. Narva is the go to place to be around Russians.
Jack Davis
Narva is a ghetto, though
Ryder Kelly
