About to watch this for the first time. What an am I in for?

Softcore porn n spooky hobo.

Overrated reddit trash

a very cool, but ultimately overrated film

This site is 18+ kiddo

It's a steaming heap of shit. Do what you want.

>when you have to hate good movies because you're trying to fit in on Sup Forums

Better than feet posting at least.

>sponge bob memes
you are a fucking faggot who sucks on your dads dick .. go fuck other dudes at red dit, where you belong you piece of human filth

Lesbian masturbatory suicide fantasy with cowboy.

Lynchkino.

Lazy troll, I bet you have those cliche lines ready for copy/paste.

Just watch it. Then you can spend hours watching analyses of the film on youtube.

...

>high blood pressure

OP here. The scene in the diner with the hobo fucked me up. How "weird" is this compared to Twin Peaks?

Seriously, tho, that hobo scene was unsettling as hell.

it's not even the most unsettling part. maybe it caught you off guard because it's literally a jumpscare.
watch the movie and close Sup Forums dude.

say that shit to my face and not online and see what happens

Have fun. Thats the only good part of the movie. None of it makes sense and if anyone says that you "dont get it" just keep in mind that it was supposed to be a TV show and Lynch made shit up as the movie was being filmed.

Well considering a doctor might be the next one to say that to you I wouldn't go the Donnybrook route, bud.

10 minutes into diner and chill and she gives you this look

>and Lynch made shit up as the movie was being filmed.
how does that make it any less kino? fucking idiot.
>a jump scare at the beginning is the best part of a cerebral thriller

fucking gas yourself retard.

what?

I would say it's more about the build up, but yes it is technically a jump-scare I guess. You're right, it's not the most unsettling scene, I would say that the scene with the Grandparents towards the end takes that award. Maybe the scene at the theatre.

I would say this is Lynch's third best film. Fire Walk With Me is inarguably his best, but you have to watch Season 1-2 of Twin Peaks first, so most people will never get to watch that masterpiece.

Second place is actually a tie between Blue Velvet and Lost Highway, which are both perfect for what they are, but too latent and sexually frustrated for some people to enjoy.

MD is third because its very slow and there are several useless plotlines. Though they are fun to watch at the end, the hitman and the Justin Trudeux plots are really unnecessary, and seem to be remnants of the original plan to make a tv series, which would have been much better.

Easy buddy. You can pretend to like the movie without getting upset

I just watched this last night and this part was fucking terrifying. great movie

>I would say it's more about the build up
it's definitely about the build up, but i just thought that was implicit. the guy talking about his nightmare in the diner is pretty creepy itself, and adds context.

I would say Lynch's best is Inland Empire though, followed by Mulholland Drive.

i can pretend i liked fucking ur mom last night

Interestingly enough, when Michael Haneke remade Funny Games in the United States, he specifically cast Naomi Watts because he saw her in this movie and noticed how good she was at conveying horrifying pain and misery.

Even weirder is that Haneke's later film Cache (often regarded as his best work, along with The Piano Teacher) was ALSO deeply influenced by Lynch, with the entire plotline of being mailed videos of someone watching your house being stolen from Lost Highway.

Agreed, but I still feel like the entire diner scene is just a less scary version of the cell phone scene in Lost Highway, though I enjoy both to a degree.

I haven't watched Inland Empire, it's not the 3 hour length that puts me off, its the fact that it just looks... kind of shitty. I really don't like digital film unless its done really, really well. It's not surprising that its his only film without a cinematographer.

>I haven't watched Inland Empire
wow. i don't even know how to respond to this lol. if it's the grainy/shitty quality that's putting you off, just keep in mind that it's part of the dark, chilling ambiance of the movie.
If i could describe Mulholland Drive as a fever dream I would say Inland empire is more like a terrifying nightmare you wake up from only to find out later on you're still in that nightmare.
You may not like it in the end but if you're a fan of Lynch's atmospheric horror it's a must watch.

Is piano teacher really that good? I've seen code unknown, cache, amour, and the U.S. funny games, I liked all of them, but a movie about lonely older lady looking for kinky sex sounds like it might not be that good.

The best thing Lynch ever did.

Getting cucked by Billy Ray Cyrus

Nope, but it definitely redeemed his career after a decade of mediocrity.

I've seen it 5 times now. It's shit. Is there something I'm missing?

A bunch of great scenes, undermined by a bunch of self indulgent bullshit.
