Wow, the new OP image is tumblr.

This new op image is trash

thanks.

Bones stop changing the op image

new logo huh? Okay, that's certainly your prerogative, you made the thread, nobody else did.
What kind of message are you sending to the world if you'll bend to any pressure of harrassment? You value your enemies more than your friends? You only want to please and appease those who are already dead set against you, but those of us who enjoy it, fuck us?
what references?

wow getting seuss vibes here

OP image a cute

Anyone else ever scrap everything they're doing on a project to start it over? I just tossed 9 pencilled pages and started over so I could redo the whole thing in a better way. That's probably the best because it looked like hot garbage 90% of the time, but I know some people are more into Just Doing It and not caring about starting over or getting into that trap of starting/stopping

...

this is why its frequently advantageous to finish a lot of really really really rough thumbnails so you can review the entire storyline at once

Re-posting some trash for feedback.

I like the new image, the old one was boring.

today's lines yo

Still need to change this link.

>Wise words from John Cleese:
youtube.com/watch?v=4j-Lz0D5_ck

no i dont lol

should probably be FROM a first-year student
Sweetwhatever made me laugh pretty hard in that third panel

True, I normally do that. I think I just want to go in a new direction with the art, honestly. It was wildly inconsistent page-to-page.

...

words are a little off in the second to last balloon. normally i fgive no fucks but the rest of it was just perfect
also her faces are absolutely cute in this

Workin' on stuff!

Poor kid must've walked into the wrong neighborhood.

finally finished a new page
hows it looking?

i like it, but the stark black shades from the top down panel feel kind of out of place because shades that dark arent repeated in the background

yeah i feel. i barely have the energy to even draw the rocks at half quality, let alone shade them properly. backgrounds and shading are my two weakest areas, and its a straight up clusterfuck when i have to shade the backgrounds

Finished the two-year anniversary thing

Nice, and congrats!

It's perfect for this fucking cesspool of amateurs, then.

Not one professional looking comic in this entire thread.

Lurker here just showing my support for the new logo, I like it.

WHERE
IS
YOUR
COMIC?¿?¿?

Thanks, user!

holy shit this is rad

Cheers! We're giving it away to celebrate (which reminds me: I need to do the prize draw).

colored the second page

when i finish page 3 ill go back to correct any mistake y find in page 1 and 2

And the old one wasn't?

Only an amateur would be as mad as you are right now.

The Sisters updated!

Artist posting while the writer fights with a fuckin vending machine.

This week: Bowling and kung fu.
Next week: Screaming and magic.

had a little renovation shit to work on. chilly down.

>while the writer fights with a fuckin vending machine.
knowing the kind of crazy life he leads, there is no interpretation of that I wouldn't believe. Including that it sprouted arms and started throwing punches.
I love those bowlingballsparkles. brings back sonic the hedgehog memories.
Beatrice looks nice. has she lost weight? or is she just doing her hair in a wayyy better style than before, because she definitely is.
>next panel
well, from the front anyway.
Cauliflower-chin's under-chin shot looks pretty nice. But why's he gotta be such an asshole? What, you couldn't kick him while he sat down, you've gotta make him get up? Shit whatever you're gonna do to me at least don't make me get up first.

What is professional tho. We get Land and Erica Henderson doing comics monthly.

The quality of the comics in this thread is eclipsed only by the quality of your shitposts, though.

I don't know what it is, but this page is beautiful. The colors, the brush, the neat effects... There is something here that hits a notalgic feel I can't really explain.
Do you have some referenceof a style you were trying to emulate or is this purely from your head?

This page is taking me forever.

Looking good, man. I like your colors. I think should work on your construction some more, though. The jacket doesn't really wrap around his body and his hand looks kinda wonky in panel 3.

Congrats! Your ink work is lovely here, by the way.

If no one gets hit with a bowling ball during this fight I'll sue.

lovin that creep-ass ratpossum. cool monsters are what make comics like this
guy's crotch folds look great too but the rest of his lower anatomy is pretty bad, i dunno if it's too late to redraw.. i mena look how low said crotch is, how low his knees are, and that sorta 'L-pipe' foot..

Maybe she lost weight. But mostly its just the swinging pendulum of style. Some chapters I'm like "Everythings squat and bulky" and others its more "Slender and swooshy". A lot of the reason The Sisters exists is to experiment stylistically while constantly keeping a deadline.

New B ref attached.
Well shit man, thanks! The scene itself was staged like the bowling beat in The Big Lebowski, but the stylistic stuff is pretty much all me. The place is red because its a Douglas place and his color's red and all the black-work is an easy way to knock out backgrounds. The little white rimlight is something I just grabbed from Sam Bosma's Fantasy Sports though.

Finally getting off my lazy ass and working on this again.

That chin on the right resembles more of an upside down ketchup bottle than a chin or face...

Well, Walt's not trying to kill Guy. He's just venting some very legit frustration on that asshole. We'll get to the specifics of that next week, though its already been hinted at when Guy was introduced/first mentioned.

To be fair, what matters is I won the fight. And now I enjoy the spoils and a bottle of shochu because a friend just got back from overseas.

>Walt being an asshole.
Well, to be fair he's always been kind of an asshole. He blew up Scott's car, yelled at people at the wake, nearly exploded when he found the body, is the kind of guy who will directly call you out for being EBT.

Violence might be an escalation, though it isn't like Guy wasn't warned this exact thing would happen.

Erin's never really been considered attractive.

Ooh, yeah, I knew something was off about his lower body but I wasn't sure what. Something like this look better?

shit we have another person with cgi-tier coloring

>call you out for being EBT
.. for receiving food stamps?

better! Might be worth tweaking it to that state instead of fully redrawing it. But I really think the whole legs need to be longer and start higher up, if you're going that far

Yeah. Its still an item of stigma in a lot of communities, and Walt called Orea out on being on EBT as a reason for her not bringing something to the BBQ as stupid. He then told her she could panhandle or flash her tits. Which, while potential solutions; are very asshole-things-to-say sorts of solutions.

I can't tell if you mean that as a good thing or a bad thing.

that's a hellllla good thing dude. that's impressive. but I see now how my post was poorly written as fuck.
I mean I was certainly embarrassed about it. I thought Orea was even more homeless than that.
but I thought EBT was just the specific credit card method. I mean i guess stamps are also just a specific method but I've never heard anyone refer to EBT by its name, and I doubt anyone not on it would recognize the term. I was actually joking, assuming there was some other acronym I wasn't getting.

> I've never heard anyone refer to EBT by its name, and I doubt anyone not on it would recognize the term.

How many square feet is your parents' vacation home?

I just said I was on it, man. my parents are heavily in debt, and so are their parents.

No worries mate, and thanks. Quite encouraging to hear.

>what references?
The scene is not complete, so it's harder to tie in, but it's all a reference to how the current generation got for the most part remasters galore.

The original idea with this was that most of the stuff they do is a nod to the game industry in general, but I wanted this to be as meta as possible, so it doesn't get in the way of the actual events and plot.

I've got another question, thos the succubus body come as chubby, curvy, or something in between? I originally wanted her to be overweight, but I can't help looking at this and thinking "isn't this a normal body shape? Should I make her thicker? (no memes please)"

Maybe I should go all they way, like most cartoons do and give her a more rounded shape, I dunno. Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

oh okay. No no that's good, that kind of thing is general enough that you can reference it as hard as you want. it's when you start talking specific brand names that you have to get tasteful with it.
uhhh to me she looks... pretty much medium except with a thick torso. I know girls like this. It means they're not really fat but they're either really in shape (working that core) or really out of shape (storing fat around the kidneys instead of in their thighs)
if you wanted to go overweight, thicken the thighs and tits more. That's where women usually put on fat.

>thos
I don't know what my brain does sometimes. Sorry about that...

>Anniversary with husbando posting
Aw Yiss

I'm terrible at drawing big breasts, or rather, I just thing that beyond that is overkill. I can do them bigger though if it helps the design. All this is just a test before I set everything in motion. So I'm still gonna rely on you lot. Thank you.

well for one thing her top is meant for someone with smaller ones, for another thing they aren't hanging very low
you don't have to go full moo moo milk or anything, but I don't know any overweight girls below a D cup. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

a bit of a rounder shape might help. If your going for thick you need big breasts, waist, hip and thighs.

mldoxy has a few tutorials on drawing big breasts. He has 'em in DA and Tumblr.

mldoxy.deviantart.com/art/Boob-Toot-1-442770559

I've seen some irl overweight chicks with no tits... I have no idea how that works, but it's funny every time I see 'em.

Freaking awesome!

I probably could magicbabble my way out of this actually but it's funnier not to try.
years ago, the first time I had them go to hell, it was such a mindless joke, half an excuse to have wee li'l Mizu kick Satan in the ass, and half an excuse to mock the at-the-time oversaturated and highly misleading Wind Waker ads (which turned out to be more like Twilight Princess ironically enough)

Bumpo

Very nice line work. Good for a horror comic.

heres a highres version of the new logo in case you wanna use it.

um, user? that appears to be an exactly-the-same-res (but higher file size) version with the dots simply nudged over a bit

nah.

Thank you!

You're welcomed!

>>

Got a site? Portfolio or whatever?

Thank you!

We decided he needed some more love - he is the protag, after all.

Cheers!

Some Lido characters from a while ahead in the story.

Someone posted a ref for their character when I offered fanart, so here's that art for them.

THE D

Nice work as usual. Love the colors and overall style.

Kowaii!

Neat.

Wait are you guys in the same area and hang out? Wish I could hang out with my artists and fellow writers. Except that writer for Miss Melee, he's a doodoo head.

Oho that hand looks realistic... On my phone as a thumbnail...

THICCCCCCC

Another stupid question, Should I change the panel with Werewolf guy in it(Number 4)? I was thinking maybe having a big splash illustration of him wearing the Bikini, like the Succubus had before, or if there is a way to improve on the current one, I'd like suggestions. Not sure if having a full body pic of him would work as a silhouette, to make the mental image a bit stronger, like Yukk! (Does anyones remembers him?)

Looking good, user.

Oh man, my 2-yr aniversary is comming up soon too; gotta prepare something! That art is fantastic BTW.

Fuckin' beautiful strike right there.

Looking good. Panel 1 is a nice angle
I think I MIGHT suggest you try though (not necessary for this page, but maybe experiment in the future): Add more detail to the 10-eyed rat.

When you have a comic with rather sylised characters, as is the case with yours, characters/creatures with more detail become more off-putting because they clash the the "neater" design of the protagonists.

Pic related is obviusly an EXTREME example and not what I'm suggesting you go for. But the creature would look more intimidating if (for example) it's for was more detailled, it's tail scaly, etc...
Kinda like how you take the effort to draw the gums of the rat's mouth inctead of just drawing a bunch of triangles.

>Hellephant
You can't see it, but I'm grinning from ear to ear

Pretty sweet designs, are they vampires?

Well, I wouldn't want you to have to re-draw the page just for this. But for sort of joke need a full shot of fanservice

If you want to keep things simpler, you could just have everyone horrified in Panel 5 as they are, but in the right side of the same panel with see warewolf guy's ass or lower half with a g-string, of course

oh by highres you meant 'anti-aliased'
i actually like the aliased nature of the top one.

Liking this more the more I see it.
true enough, it was hard to feel like blonde guy wasn't the main character
the bikini is hilarious
>where we come from, torsos only come in one length but you can totally win the limb lottery
there's a quentin blake kinda aspect to this that makes me smile.

Fangs very much.

Cheers!

You mean this guy?

Ffff no he's obviously the mentor guy
though it would be interesting to have a mentor guy as the main character in a story, proceeding to mentor a new hero each season..

Ohhh this guy?

now you're just smearing my ankles with frosting, user.

That isn't professional quality at all. No wonder Hiveworks shit all over /hyw/.

Did some color tests while at work, think I'm gonna go for traditional with some digital.
Was thinking of buying black paper, glue, and colored sand to make some very surreal behind the panel art. Might be too messy for my scanner though.

Finished this page!

Forgot the page :)

That's your best one yet!

...

My page for this week, maybe I should start working on multiple pages per week... but I am not sure if I can keep it up.

I got this one in late yesterday so I thought I try again. I experimented a bit on how it was colored. Well, that's kind of true on all the colored page so far... all four of them.

Workin on a design here. Don't totally wanna give it away but it's coming up in the next comic or two
not sure i'm gonna wanna draw this over and over, might need to simplify..
any ideas beyond the eyes for how to make him look kinda fucked up? like he's spent 5ever in hell. maybe more emaciated
also havent thought of a name yet
i designed this species like 10-13 years ago.. but I drew the tails a lot bigger. I think this looks more proportional.

Come up with a better one if you don't like it.

Sure, my rate is $100/hr. Want my Paypal?

I read your whole thing yesterday, I liked it but I thought the colors sort of muddled things. You do well with line-art and it seems like it might be a very interesting story over time.

Hello, beautiful hatted nightmare. Digging that.

We've been known to hang.
>Wish I could hang out with my artists and fellow writers.
Eh, you'll find they're much like anyone else. Artist and I get on real well, known eachother for...jesus, nearly seven years at this point. We banter like the ugliest old married couple.
>Except that writer for Miss Melee
Yeah. Well, I try not to let a person's personality effect my ability to critique their product. But at least he's good with marketing and working in a specific genre; because random dialogue and sound effects do not a story make. I'm sure he'll get it in time.

Most writers need to get beyond themselves, but it takes a lot to get there. Its probably the same for artists but it is probably easier to find someone who can look at a 3/10 doodle and love it than someone who will read a 3/10 story and love it.

It just takes like, a real outside force. I had two cancer scares on the same day (like two lumps way the fuck far apart from one another) and decided I wasn't too good to write porn for christmas gift money. That was really my turn around point.

While I'd be curious to know your beef with him due to other people making me all too aware of theirs; I don't think drama benefits the discussion.

>never heard it referred to by name.
Yeah, I think especially in my community there's a divide between the people on "food stamps" and people on "EBT." despite being the same thing. Branding is important.

The more wealthy people in my area scowl at the people on EBT for wasting their tax dollars, but anyone they know personally on it is just on "food stamps." It is like the difference between being on unemployment or being "on the dole."

Petty human things.

Nah. I don't think your skills are worth it. Or anything, for that matter.

But I'm not he one complaining about the logo.

You have not even seen my skills, and yet you critique them?

Typical of the rank amateurs that infest /hyw/. Let this be the last thread.

>I don't think drama benefits the discussion.

Yeah... I like MM Writer well enough for what he posts here; they do say never to "meet your heroes".
Besides, I'm sure I have some opinions most people would find reprehensible as well...

Well first off I think you're probably Bones, and I've seen the abortions you call art.

In the unlikely event that you're not Bones, we can still presume your art sucks because

1. You're a drama whore
2. You're a braggart
3. You talk shit but can't back it up

That's not something most real artists do. Real gangsta ass niggas don't flex nuts cause real gangsta ass niggas know they got 'em.

>While I'd be curious to know your beef
>He thinks someone calling someone else a "doodoo head" is serious.

Look what you did Sexy. Now you're giving MM a reputation.
