Real lolita shit desu

We came buckets.

/thread

t/v/ fawned over tits and Refnddit because they're all underaged

art lovers hated this pseudbait pile of shit

...

Lol, no. I literally saw famous artist friends of mine at the opening.

If you think it's bad art, then you're probably a politically-minded Marxist and probably also bald with rotting skin.

When I was in the theater I busted a nut and had about 7 pumps into the seat ahead of me. When the credits were rolling I the person next to me turned and said "I wanted to bust a nut to that bitch's mosquito bite nipples but I was too scared." He got up and we parted ways. I went home

I was bracing myself thinking it will be total garbage.
Surprisingly as the movie went i relaxed and I came out of pleased.
I thought it was good movie.

Contrarians """"hated"""" it. People with taste liked it. Faggots complained about Elle not being attractive. Much Abbey Lee should have been the lead.

Hey, I was in that theater. They I pretended I was with the couple ahead of me so I could get it.

It's art, it's trippy, and it's Elle-kino. What's not to like?

Looks great.
Writing is absolute shit.
I was amazed at how bad it was.

Imagine if Kubrick didn't give a fuck about substance.

>"substance"

So it was a Refn movie?

One of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life.

More like "The Semen Demon", if you will.

Complaining about a film not having a lot of writing is like complaining about a novel not having a lot of pictures. Only a retard would do that

I will

Watch more movies before you post in the movie board. Come back in a year

So you openly admit being THAT NEW?

Wew...

But anyway, I think it was interesting. Almost like a long music video. I still listen to the Demon Dance track. But ultimately I didn't really get the "point" of the movie, and the ending felt rushed. And why was the main character naïve AND vain? It made her unsympathetic.

i confirmed elle as /ourgirl/

I started browsing/tv/ when Winter soldier came out, but I stopped coming around the time Neon Demon came out

Depth, meaning, import. A story is useless without it.
Name a film that doesn't have a script, screenplay, or shot list. You know nothing about this business.

>and I am here for 8 years
fucking hell

>tv fawning over a waifu that has been blacked to the moona and back
as usual
why do you care how much of someone's life they wasted browsing this site? that is sad

It wasn't very good. I watched "starry eyes" before so it felt like a shittier art house version of that film.

>Name a film that doesn't have a script, screenplay, or shot list. You know nothing about this business.
terrence malick says hello

You got bad reading comprehension for a pseud.

>Badlands (1973)
>Days of Heaven (1978)
>The Thin Red Line (1998)
>The New World (2005)
>The Tree of Life (2011)
>To the Wonder (2012)
>Knight of Cups (2015)
>Voyage of Time (2016)
>Song to Song (2017)
>Radegund (2017)

Who actually watches this shit?

indiegroundfilms.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/tree-of-life-the-jun-25-07-1st.pdf

ayy

a lot of people particularly the first 5
what do you watch user?

Knight of Cups is unironically one of the best moves in the past decade.

>Name a film that doesn't have a script, screenplay, or shot list.
Films usually have these, but there are many non-narrative films (which probably have a storyboard / shot list, but maybe not a script or screenplay), and even semi-narrative independent films that are quite open-ended.

There are ways of dealing with material that doesn't deal in easily explicable readings or morals-to-the-story.

Sometimes the 'depth' is formal, or aesthetic, or stylistic, or structural. Or sometimes there is something like a substance of some sort of internal or meta-logic or morality, but in a more dreamlike mode. Sometimes films of real value are even made with a seeming neglect of quality of story even when there is a describable one, but excel or are centered more at the aesthetic level (see every good giallo film).

You engagement with film is extremely entry-level.

It felt like a movie that was trying extremely hard to be artsy to the point of being offensive. Its also super boring and pointless.

even elle couldn't save it.

Literally nothing: the sentence

I've heard good things, what's the premise?

It had some though behind it maily what refn thinks is important.
As for being too artsy I say it fell just short of it and thats why i liked it.

>I've heard good things, what's the premise?
just watch it, words cant describe it

>I've heard good things, what's the premise?
Hard to explain really, although one could see some filming struggles of a lower budget is really something else in terms of film making.

I wasn't attracted to Abbey that much when I watched the movie but after user's posting her pics over and over she's really grown on me.

I see the film as having some decent artistic value, even if I will admit there are structural weaknesses on many levels (levels I don't necessarily require greatness, like story).

One should also kind of consider it as aesthetic porn, which is fine in my eyes. Like high quality 'drug art', work designed to overwhelm your senses in a drug-effect type of way. I think this is also a legit approach to art, and can be really misused, but can also be some of the greatest shit. I think it excelled as that.

I will admit it also kind of almost qualifies as near-softcore porn-porn too. Which it provides some pretty quality material for that purpose, if you want that.

Only God Forgives > Drive > Semen demon

Prove me wrong
Pro tip: You can't

would you approach her at a bat & buy her a drink?

Post the toilet roll webm.

*bar

I can,you are a newfag.
Drive defined this place you just wasn't here when it happened.

I bet you've never been on a film set, pleb.
You sound academic, with no field experience.

No script, no movie. You can't dance around that with "ooh its an open visual medium ooh, kino"

Not Malick. I don't like his cinematography. I feel like im watching a rich guy's home movies.

>Implying Knight of Cups, Entourage, The Neon Demon, Starry Eyed, etc. aren't all the same industry self-love/self-hate shitfest.

I'd just luckily be sitting next to her at the bar, and something would occur for a conversation to spark up between us and we'd hit it off and I'd get her number and the next week we'd go on a date that would end with a kiss on the lips desu

here

>I feel like im watching a rich guy's home movies.
Nigga Knight of Cups had footage from 2012 and released in 2015.
Thats not big budget.

It's definitely a polarizing film (most good films tend to be). However, normies and underage b&s really, really hated it because they just can't get into anything that doesn't have explosions/cgi-shitfests and/or isn't plot driven.

Maybe thats why it felt like a rich guy's home movies.

yeah whatever.

>It's definitely a polarizing film (most good films tend to be)
What a moronic statement

I like her teeth.

>Y-you too

>I bet you've never been on a film set, pleb.
>You sound academic, with no field experience.

I have a lot of experience. And I'm big on experience, but I also believe in knowing your shit and not succumbing to the easy views of a fucking rube.

You sound like someone's college professor who hasn't ever tried to make a movie.

Film is collaborative, therefore you have to communicate your ideas to other people to get what you want. Thats what writing is for. That's what story boards are for. Concept art, shot lists, set designs, pictures of locations.

All the shit about how a movie can be this or that, open ended, structureless is irrelevant. Thats just style.

A movie is only as good as the people making it, and the written material they are using as the foundation for the movie.

Any movie that's made without all that preparatory work is doomed to failure.

Hollywood is so lazy that they just adapt material and use market research. Thats why movies suck these days. Nobody gives a fuck about writing.

Well, I come from the art world end of film, with experience in that, although I have worked on narrative film sets too. So I'm well familiar with several parralel histories of film and video work that defies everything you're saying. There is definitely a storyboard or shit list, usually, to organize the shoot, definitely, but not necessarily a conventional story.

I know you prefer narrative film and hate experimental formalist and conceptual stuff, but that doesn't mean such things don't exist (Neon Demon isn't even anything like that, it's just aesthetic porn drawing on a tradition of lush aesthetics like giallo and De Palma etc).

At the art school I went to, which, btw, many famous directors came out of, and taught at, every year has to deal at the beginning of a school year with film program students who prefer narrative film as you do and go all autistic about other types of approaches. It's simply not for you, that's fine. I love narrative film too.

*parallel

storyboard or *shot list lol

I liked it, not the best Refn movie out there but good.

It gets better with a second view btw.

What was Nicole thinking here?

Mommy?

I WANT TO LICK ALL OF ELLE'S MOLES :3

...

I am about to bust a nut holy shit

She needs some milk

I want to lick those sagy milkies

I wish i could be happy and beautiful like that ;_;

>People x-ray movies now
Why am i surprised?

...

how to groom elle

Elle is such a mommy's girl.

I liked it but I was really stoned on my first viewing after RLM recommended it.

They don't really explain that the make up girl is a cultist or whatever and she disappeared after her vagina exploded with blood.
The whole cannibal model thing i liked and understood, since it was some wank about models being judged as nonhuman meat or whatever by modeling companies.

Tldr I liked it but it was clearly artsy wank, and that's fine.
