So now that it's a couple episodes away from finishing season 1,can anyone who watched this show actually say whether it's good?

It airs on weekends and in the middle of the day, so it's not like they've totally buried it yet. I'm sure they'll try to shove it back into prime time again soon.

Ignore the publicity and outrage surrounding it and take it for what it is: okay and generally harmless.
It's pretty bad. Doesn't really teach kids anything, the characters are nothing like the old ones though that only matters to oldfags and probably not their priority.
But the characters being nothing like the old ones goes hand in hand with the show not really teaching kids much of anything. Particularly how they handle Mojo, Mayor and Ms.Bellum.
The comedy is really scraping the barrel already into season 1. It was pretty telling when the best thing it's done was the Teen Titans Go crossover.
Someone is watching it, because episodes up through a fourth season were green-lit last month.
What why? Hell so many series I loved in my lifetime got cancelled and this gets instantly 4+ seasons even though everybody hates it?

I've seen a few episodes around lunch time. It's nothing special, just there. It was great when it first started with Cartoon Network's beginnings because it was new and interesting. Several years has passed, there's already several shows and cartoons about strong females who don't need a man, and, well, magic's gone.
I always thought those were some clichees. Kids usually love more serious stuff and are interested in shit they haven't seen yet.

The kid was even wary of watching any Buttercup eps because she only thought of her as a "bully," and ended up pleasantly surprised by oldPPG.

The animation sucks dick and the "plot" of the show contradicts the fucking point of PPG. It's trash, every other PPG alternative is better and worth watching over nuPPG, period.
It deserves the hate for ruining a series that was so amazing. Pre-movie PPG was A+ amazing.

It's bad, and honestly frustrating to think about. Even if it gets better, which ist sort of is doing, just way too slowly to really count, it's just not worth anyone's time, and people bringing it up just to rile themselves up has gotten annoying. While I can appreciate the people who work on it, and their individuals skillsets, the final product is just too much of a mess, and it really shows that whatever heart is being put into this project is being discarded by corporate.
Yeah, there are some cute moments, and there are some parts that are hated or brought up just to circlejerk about hating it, but there are key arts of it that are legitimately just poorly done.
Overall, it's frustrating to even think about, especially if you really liked the PPG, so if you can't enjoy it, it's honestly best ignored, and to use the time complaining about it to do something else, cause it just isn't worth it.
Of course, people are going to waste time riling themselves over it, anyway, but whatever.
On a side note, I will say I liked one of the "messages" of the episodes. In that one with the Disney Princess-esque character, while it was annoying to see them shoehorn the usual "Princesses can save themselves, girls don't need no man" kind of thing, and the singing was disappointing coming from a franchise that had great songs attributed to it, it was nice to see them also put in the point that a girl can be girly, that a girl might actually WANT a man, even if they don't need one, and be absolutely OK with that.
Not that it was a message that even needed to be pointed out, especially in Powerpuff Girls, but in a time where people tumblr get all uppity about "female stereotypes", I almost feel like it's actually become a role reversal to have a girly character just be girly.
Some of the vitriol may not be justifiable under any circumstance, but it is a show made for no one in mind, and that's why it fails.
As an actioner, the style and animation are not up to snuff. There's nothing much to elaborate on here, the visuals are inadequate for the job. You can't make a skyscraper out of balsa wood.
As a comedy, PPG is a disappointment. I don't need comedies to be intelligent, but they do require wit, a gift for observation and irony, and a bit of fearlessness. This is something the original never struggled with.
It's completely shit in every possible way. There isn't a single redeemable aspect of it;the humor is bland, the animation never improved and still garbage, the plots are nonsense at best, this show has nothing going for it.
It's just boring user, one of the worst things a piece of entertainment can be. There aren't that many hilariously terrible things to laugh at and it's not good either. It exists. Meh.

Does that exist in media? I always missed that.
Of course there a men that are single but this is usually just because the writers focus on that character's role as villain or whatever he might be. I've never seen this actually be a thing, rather the opposite. Male characters always fall in love as soon as some female character acts nice towards them, like total idiots.
Guts was like that in Berserk for a while. Then he gave in and had sex with Caska...and had rape flashbacks. His rape.

But that's wrong since it lowers interest in the original when new fans see this, think it sucks, and don't bother with the first, and it's low quality and poor reception coupled with that make a new, good PPG less likely.
Plus, it's harmful to other cartoon fans, as well. If it's a success, we get more low quality shit, and if it's a failure, CN is more likely to stick with lowest common denominator shit that's more likely to succeed. And it's harmful to the creators, who suffer a hit to their reputation.
It's not harmless. It's very harmful that this was allowed to be made and aired.

I really wanted to like this show so I kept coming back in spite of each episode being pure undiluted shit. I came expecting the humor of the original in a shiny new wrapper, maybe a bit more mature now to appeal to older fans as well. Instead we get a real abortion of show with the same "le randumb may-may" humor we see in things like adventure time, teen titans go, steven universe, and uncle grandpa all stuffed into the pillaged carcass of powerpuff girls. They completely ruined two of the main characters, turning blossom from paragon golden girl to autistic clean freak, and buttercup from a tsundere tomboy into obnoxious blithering idiot that accentuates every three words with "Dude!" not to mention the spike of hair the animators randomly decided to add to her design.They also somehow managed to get back every voice actor from the original show EXCEPT for the voices of the main characters. The only new voice I really don't like is Buttercup, it's not just how they've written her either, voice actor sounds like she has down syndrome and despite getting Mojo back in all his glory, they haven't utilized him at all. The only good thing about this new show is that fashionista villainess they added with the tremendous ass and hips, porn of her is the only silver lining I can perceive in this mess.
