How does it feel knowing there will NEVER be a better character/redemption arc than for zuko Sup Forums?

How does it feel knowing there will NEVER be a better character/redemption arc than for zuko Sup Forums?

feels bad man

Zuko was the Supreme Gentleman's favourite character too

He wasn't my favourite character, but he definitely had an amazing character arc

>Doesn't kill ozai when he has the chance in the bunker
Fucking cartoons I swear, couldn't they find a better excuse than, DUDE it's aang's destiny not mine LMAO

>Character abandons all his values and turns his personality 180 degrees
Too unbelievable for my taste

I think it's time to rewatch this, last time I watched Avatar it was still airing, I hope it holds up.

Who is this?

>Somebody would have absolutely no problem killing their own father, especially when someone who is expected to do it would have the chance.

>betrays his uncle for his sister and father
>betrays his sister and father for the avatar

Zuko is just a flip-flopping double traitor with no loyalty to anyone.
And who got beaten by his sister even when she was at her comparative weakest and he was at his strongest.

He betrays his uncle because he's been taught his entire life that his loyalty was to his father, but then when he returns to the fire nation he realises how it isn't the force for good that he thinks. And this takes place over multiple episodes.

Iroh explains why Aang has to do it and not Zuko or Iroh himself though. If they do it it's treason, if Aang does it it's basically a fucking act of God. Had Zuko killed the fire lord then Azula would only take his place and there's no way in hell Zuko would then be able to take the fire lord spot to reform the nation.

That's a ridiculous thread, considering Star Wars Episode 8 is only months away and Kylo Ren has a sad-boi-look in nearly all leaked/shown materials.

Hmmm, I guess that's a good reason

did you someone manage to reach the age of 18 without ever being a teenager?

I felt this way when I watched the series for the first time too but after rewatching it I really did feel as if every time Zuko flip flopped it was the correct decision (writing-wise). Which is a lot more than I can say for characters that fall under this trope.

I know the part that everyone's iffy on Zuko with is that after he underwent his metamorphosis he still chose to side with Azula and betray his uncle. But it was absolutely vital that Zuko get everything he thought he wanted. It's a lot stronger from a storytelling perspective if Zuko walks away from his life of luxury, not be locked away from it.

what are you trying to say?

Feels good to watch things that aren't cartoons aimed at 12 year olds.

It doesn't, especially the first season. Still enjoyable but rewatching it was an eye opening experience for me.

Is this in the same continuity as Korra?

It's before Korra, and is better in every single way. (seriously)

Korra season 4 is the best thing to happen to the genre.

just you WAIT for jaime to kill cersei and then jon and then dany

Wow if you've only seen Korra I feel bad for you, not a terrible show but the OG is 10x better.

It does. Season 1 is kinda draggish, but binged 2 and 3 in a weekend.

zuko? more lick cuck-o

>"While I was playing WoW after dinner at mother’s house once, I heard my sister watching the new show Avatar: The Last Airbender on the television. I decided to check it out. I soon found myself really enjoying it. It was a magnificent story set in a fantasy world where people can control the power of the elements. Once I watched the first episode, I was hooked on the story. Prince Zuko was my favorite character; he was a banished prince who was trying to regain his rightful place in the world. I always related to him. Avatar: The Last Airbender became my favorite T.V. show."

what did he mean by that?

>180
It was a gradual change, through all his time with Iroh. Pay attention pleb

I don't watch anime. I think that the game where he fucks his sister and a bunch of other women is pretty decent for porn trash.

I got too busy to keep up with Korra and haven't gone back to it. Where's a good place to stream it?

But Zuko had GF. Check mate, Rodgers.

Rewatched the series last month. Some things were worse than i remembered but overall the show is even better than i thought. Easily my favourite.

>Sup Forums is literally incapable of understanding and appreciating character development

Not that I expected anything more from you console-warring capeshitters.

It's better to pretend it just doesn't exist, trust me.

Some of the villains and side characters are good, but the main cast is unbearable.

>gets shit on by all his family and countrymen and is constantly humiliated.

>staying true to those values

>teenager learns his old ideals were childish as he grows up
>LOL he ABANDONED his values WOW
neck yourself

But he hated his father. This "b-b-but he's family" meme needs to die.

I read this too late and have already picked back up where I left off in Book Two. I'm a completist and have to watch the whole thing.

>How does it feel knowing there will NEVER be a better character/redemption arc than for zuko Sup Forums?
but it already happened

so is his mother alive? I remember the last episode one of the last scenes was him asking his father in jail where she was. Also unless I completely misunderstood then his mother killed his grandfather (the fire lord) because he was going to make ozai kill zuko for speaking out against iroh at the meeting and ozai was going to do it. the fact that was never resolved annoyed me

Princess Ursa (voiced by Jen Cohn) is the mother of Zuko and Azula and the former wife of Fire Lord Ozai, later revealed to be the granddaughter of Avatar Roku. While she made few appearances in the series, Ursa's story is expanded in the sequel comics. As revealed in Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Search, Ursa was in love with an actor named Ikem before she is forced to end their relationship while betrothed to Ozai. Though told that she is to abandon her old life, expecting Ozai to have been intercepting her mail, Ursa secretly wrote letters that included a false letter claiming Zuko was Ikem's child. The false letter caused the rift between Ozai and Zuko, the former claiming to have arranged Ikem's death after the actor mysteriously vanished. When Ursa learned that Ozai was ordered by his father to kill Zuko, she becomes a means for Ozai to have his father murdered before banishing her in exchange for Zuko's life. As revealed in The Search, to forget her time with Ozai and ensure her children's protection, Ursa had the spirit known as the Mother of Faces change her face and alter her memories. Now going by name of Noriko, Ursa married Ikem, who also had his face changed with the name of Noren, and they have a daughter named Kiyi. Zuko finds her years later and despite Azula's attempt on her life, Ursa is welcomed back into her son's life as she is restored to her original self.

Leave receptionkino to me

Why was Ozai in the wrong again?

The whole global imperialism and genocidal war plans thing kind of put a bad taste in some people's mouths.

because he raised a cuck

it's an absolute travesty that shyamalan killed any hope of this show getting more content. it's such a good universe with great characters. instead all we got was korra (which admittedly had a solid third season but there were only a few highlights in the rest of the show).

Redeemed villains make for best characters

Does Avatar make you guys miss pre-2007 Nickelodeon?

Too bad what happens later

What the fuck is this convoluted shit?

stop posting this in every thread

It wasn't his fault that the Whore of the Four Nations decided to keep their Earth King ignorant of the war in Ba Sing Se.

It's the real reason Ursa left. She abandoned her children and husband just to chase some helpless cuck and have his children on the side.

>I don't watch anime.
It's a good thing that Avatar isn't anime, then.
