Things people who dont really read comics think

things people who dont really read comics think...

comics are good

The writer is also the letterer

Frank Miller is a bad writer

Marvel is silly
DC is serious

But that's true.

Superman is boring

Anything matters.

Rebirth is so interesting

Cyclops is lame.
Daredevils is lame.
Like Professor X.
Whedon is an awesome comics writer.
The Avengers are better than the JLA.

Casual pls go

DC is so dark and deep

Wouldn't it be great if they made an injustice movie?

Hulk is strongest there is.

All Aquaman does is talk to fish and can't leave the water

Batman is always a loner

The X-Men and the Avengers don't share a universe

>the mcu is formulaic and/or bad
>the dceu is bad

Green Arrow's girlfriend is named Felicity

I love Hellcat!

I think Super Sonic would beat The Flash

Spiderman is a teenager and his one true love is Mary Jane.

Things WB executives say in the boardroom

Morrison's run is the definitive Batman

>I wish snyder would stop blackmailing us so he can keep his job

"How can we make this appealing to the Hot Topic crowd?"

Goku would beat superman

Red Hood is badass and edgy

Is it Sunday again?

Time to do another reboot!

WE GOTTA KILL SUPERMAN IN THE FIRST FILM!

>Insert "monkey sound effects" here.

''let's fuck everything up''

Eh in my experience that's a divided debate no matter who you ask.

Here's my two cents:
Superman is the kind of guy who rarely loses fights against brute force opponents. His "power level" is off the charts, and I'm not going to bother trying to match it to an ssj form because they are too inconsistent. Superman Fights because it's the best way he knows to save people.

Goku is the kind of guy who loses fights all the time, but then trains his ass off to get better and beat the guy when they meet again. Goku fights because he loves to fight.

So, Superman would win their first fight. But he's Superman; he won't kill Goku. Goku then goes off to train for a few years, and comes back. Same result, because Superman is just that tough. Maybe the third time's the charm, or the fourth. Eventually, though, Goku will win one. But he won't kill Superman either. The fights were too good. I doubt that Superman would ever seek out Goku for a competition after that, but Goku might want a rematch to make sure it wasn't a fluke. Goku would probably start winning the majority of times at this point, but Superman would likely get a few wins out of sheer brainpower.

It's a vicious cycle.

>not liking Batman's internal dialgoues
>implying Miller's The Last Crusade isn't the best Joker of this decade
>implying Miller isn't based for refusing to pander
Are you retarded?

I wish I could find a guy to be the Joker to my Harley Quinn.

>Daredevils is lame
Nah, casuals have the DD Netflix show now. People know he's cool.

>Let's give Flash armor. People like that Injustice book, right?

I knew a girl that had her bf dress up like the joker (Ledger) while she dressed like Harley and had him be abusive and crazy and shit toward her and then basically rape her. She was waaaay more into Harley than any other fangirl I've met.

That I'm sexist just because I'm a guy who likes stories that happen to feature women in revealing, skin tight clothing.

That Stan Lee still writes comics.
Seriously I had to explain this to my french class in April when everyone was talking about Civil War.

I know you're not supposed to stick you're dick in crazy but I'd fuck a bitch if she let's me slap her around for being a dumbass.

>Superman stomps a new mudhole in Goku's ass
>He eats a Senzu bean and Instant Transmissions to him for another fight
>Rinse and repeat
>For days
>Eventually Superman starts hiding out as Clark Kent because he has other shit to do than fight Goku
>Goku, being Goku, just Instant Transmissions to where Clark is and loudly yells "Come on Superman, another round!"

>Clark pulls some flash level speed and infinite punches Superman away from the Daily Planet

Batman is better than Superman because he is more realistic.

fpbp

Comics are only about superheroes

>They still make comics? I thought they went bankrupt in the 90's

In that same vein, Batman is more realistic/I could be Batman.

Right Superman is boring because he is invincible

"Pass the cocaine and dead hooker, I wanna do another line off her ass."

"Hmn... it's already 6. I should get ready for my date."

God damn man that actually hurt.

Supes would see the cycle coming from a mile away. He'll probably job for Goku after the second or third fight.

>Captain America is coming back to Earth.

>I heard there's this spiffy new thing called fan interaction. Neat stuff.

>implying internal dialogue isn't an overused narrative tool that people are tired of
>implying the Last Crusade isn't mediocre
>implying Miller isn't pandering to the other side
Are you autistic?

Name one instance where pandering to the broadest lowest common denominator audience hasn't made a billion?
That's exactly why we need to meddle guys

>his one true love is Mary Jane.

Well, that part's true. Gwen was just a piece of ass.

People who don't read comics don't know who Morrison is, let alone are able to identify different runs and judge them.

You've instead managed to write a deep, objective truth of the universe that only comic readers know.

The MJ parts is true though. It might even be getting reversed soon.

Nah. Miller did produce great work once, he just lost it a long time ago. There's a reason why he was so massively influential in his late 70s/80s heyday.

Anyone saying otherwise is just pushing an agenda.

>Cyclops is lame.

I think this is more a product of age. If, like me, you started reading comics in the early 90s, your impression of Cyclops is the teacher's pet with a rod up his ass. He WAS boring. It wasn't until Morrison's run that that really started changing.

People who started reading in the 2000s grew up with a more dynamic, interesting Cyclops.

But user, "people who don't really read comics" didn't really read Morrison.
Heck, I've reread that run about a dozen times and I'm still confused about stuff.
What chance does a casual have?

For non-comics readers around my age (30), I think their formative experience with the X-men was the 90s cartoon, and the Cyclops there was definitely an uptight asshole buzzkill that gave the impression that he's boring.

As opposed to ... ?

At least they can live thinking theres sanity among the editors there

What he started to become in that very run you're referencing. A more militant, dynamic leader who was active and engaged and interesting.

So rebirth was a huge sucess how are you guys going to spend all your money.

>more interesting later on

I just wish I could find that pic of Emma Frost mocking him for enjoying homework and eating vegetables...

You have literally never read anything Miller has done, have you?

The avengers are the bulk of the superheros in the marvel universe!

>a girl said this to me once

In that same issue, Colossus banged Kitty so hard she fell through the floor.

Normie girls will say anything for attention
>I love star wars
>oh, I havent seen any of the movies
I just sont get it

^
>notlikeothergirls.jpeg

>I love Batman
>I never read Batman
That was Leth, right?
Same shit with RAVEN IS MY WAIFU BUT I NEVER READ COMICS SHE'S IN.

You know, she's really not all that wrong.

There have been periods when the Avengers' member ranks were enormous and probably included a good percentage of all Marvel heroes.

I fucking LOVE Captain America but comics are for ugly nerd boys

Lol nah she was talking about the movies

She also likes dad rock and Hamilton so

The Jean disguise.
No wonder I couldn't find it.

Then she's completely right. In the movies the Avengers ARE the bulk of the superheros in the Marvel Universe.

What non-Avengers heroes are there in the MCU at this point (well, pre-Civil War...)

Things idw executives say in the boardroom.

Wait im retarded jim carrey said wb.
Which one of you faggots looked at watchmen and said this is the man we want to represent one of America's greatest cultural icons.

Crossover it with Transformers.

Zack Snyder is the man to make a modern-day DC superhero movie.

DC is grimdark and Very Serious.

Batman is grounded and realistic.

Superman's existence should be portrayed as anything other than an undoubtedly good thing.

Superman is too powerful and needs to be a whiny emo who sucks at being super to be interesting.

It's in-character for Batman and Superman, canonical best buddies, to fight each other.

There is no difference in the utilisation of comic book tropes (eg: comic book deaths, multiverses, superhero fights, crossovers) between Marvel and DC.

Batman v Superman was not a slap to the face.

You can understand the source material without reading it.

Batman doesn't kill

*cricket noises*

"They still make comics? Why?"
"Oh I see, you just like their big tits."

A friend said this to me in 2009 after seeing me reading Avengers/Invaders.

Hey they only do that with there boys comics.

As stupid as this hasbro shared universe is im still mad i get why they would not include mlp but i see no reason we cant have jem and lps crossover.

Casual please go.

Stan Lee is a creative genius.

Who is Jack Kirby?

Why you got to kink shame people familia?

I'm sorry that girls with desires intimidate you, but you understand that power exchange in roleplay is actually quite common among adults with healthy sex-lives.

Not that you'd know about that...

>Stan Lee is a hack who stole the credit from the real writers

>Jack Kirby is a god who created everything you lovr about comics

"Man, I want to read Batman but I don't know where to start, it's all so confusing"

Sexist isnt really the appropiate word, Pervert would be more like it :^)

Daredevil jobbed on his own show to put the character normies REALLY love over. How many times I've heard Daredevil Season 2 referred to as Punisher Season 1.

Hit too close man.

Not cool

If you could read minds, what would your favorite character think of you when you when you meet him ?

...

I think his writing is good but I don't like his art

>people that don't read comics knowing who is Kirby
Yeah, no.
