Does this count as a lazy roll call?
Buncha slackjawed faggots in this thread.
well technically it is, but its not lazy as in showing a static marketing still shot of the character with their name beside them.
technically, PPG's opening is a rollcall as well
Is this considered roll call?
To bad the show was pretty shit
yes
>why cant cartoons be more like anime, the thread
youtube.com
Can't have a thread like this without MiB
But Rise is better.
Objectively wrong.
The west will never have anything as good as the Lupin III intros
Seriously, Everytime I open a new video it's just such a let down compared to hearing the first few notes of "Tank" or the Evangelion song
looks like a ps1 game
it was made in 2002. the show itself is traditional animation though.

fuck, I forgot about that show. I remember it being so good, wonder if it holds up.
since Adult Swim and Toonami seem to be fair game

>Waifu
>Lionel Ritchie
>Super Saiyan Sting
Man this show had everything.
How about a cartoon that doesn't exist but should?
The tall alien in the lineup posing always cheers me up
Roll call intros aren't always a bad thing, anons. As long as it introduces the basic elements of the show and gets the viewer hyped/primed, it's successful.
This intro will never stop making me feel like a 12 year old boy up past his bed time in hopes of learning quasi-political shit and watching Motoko do sexy things
>rollcall

More like a PS1 FMV.
I never thought of it like that, that puts a whole knew perspective on the whole show.

Teen Titans Opening, when I heard the Japanese version during its arc I liked it so much better

>why do so many cartoons just have a lazy rollcall of the characters in the show?
Because they cost time and money when their only job is to introduce the characters to the audience.
There's a reason why most live-action shows have done away with them entirely and go into a cold open.
Roommate broke that down into individual frames and started analyzing it piece by piece. It's astounding how efficient it is. Every part works.
When I was a kid I thought Terry's girlfriend and Death from "Do the evolution" music video were related in some way.
I fucking love the Bojack Horseman intro
Ruined me for when I realized his swimming pool is built into the boardwalk around his house and is therefore a physical and architectural impossibility.
Goddammit.
Meh, I don't let such thing bother me, really. The music is still very good.

Fucking metal.
I'll give you that, I just want you and everyone in this thread to think about that gaffe every time they watch it like I do. My curse is yours now.
lol dude gets caught having sex behind a tree with his hot asian gf in the opening. MY SIDES
I don't get it. Where are the card games?
oh my god, what gorgeous animation.
I think it accomplishes itself well just as a short. The whole 'remember the 80s?' thing is already starting to go out of trend.
Finally something with a cool song, BUT of course the visuals are lame.
That was terrible. Why did you post that?
I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite intro in this thread. Wow. I don't even wanna watch the rest of the intros anymore. I just wanna watch this one some more.
Wow.
I like that one better but I do like the first few seconds of this one:
>nobody's posted the intro that got people immediately hooked on the show that forever changed the landscape of western TV animation
youtube.com
It was also the first Intro that was edited based on the episode in order to fill time.
Never forget.
Fucking god tier opening theme

I'm not sure I understand exactly. How do you mean it's efficient?
Fillmore was too good for this world.
Never been a waifu fag but Dana is so hot in the intro
huh i always assumed he was at a party at some other mansion...

This show looks awesome, is it considered animu?
it's based on a series of comics from Argentina so I'm gonna lean towards no.
best

i was also gonna post Little Bear but i cant find the intro with the version of the music that i like.
I have a VHS of an episode of this show
>no one has posted this yet

Who cares? It's a cartoon, not everything is supposed to be logically sound. Hell the cartoon is about anthropomorphic animal people for christs's sake, get over it already.
