Is LotR the last universally loved big budget cinematic trilogy?

Is LotR the last universally loved big budget cinematic trilogy?

it fucking sucked so no.

somebody ban this kid

I would say the new Planet of the Apes but I did not enjoy the third one.

Fuck off.

Fuck outta here Harry Potter faggot.

Harry potter was a piece of shit too.
how about you guys read above a 6th grade level?

Go get fucked, kid.

It is definitely for me.
I'm playing a total war medieval 2 mod (pic related), best game I've ever played and it's gigantic satisfaction for my autistic love for tolkins Universe.
Please go back to your GoT thread you edgy little faggot

what's to this board that attracts so many contrarian hipster faggots that only enjoy capeshit and talking about SJWs in movies?

fucking christopher is blocking children of hurin

nuh uh you suck

Ehh, the guys who hate LOTR probably hate capeshit as well.

>defending capeshit with swords

Only because trilogies are rare these days now that every series is turned into a cinematic universe.

No, that would be Nolan's TDK trilogy.

but what do they like? do they like movies made in the early 20th century? Surely there has to be some kind of movies these contrarian manchildren have to not hate

I wouldn't say they're universally loved though, which is sad since I think the first two are really underrated.

take your capeshit and shove it up your ass

The original planet of the apes is the only good one

waste of good digits

Just read this book
The first half is kind of boring t b h

Depends on what you mean by "universally loved". Twilight and Hunger Games are loved by normies just hated by neckbeards. LOTR is loved by neckbeards but girls hate it.

>Girls hate it
My gf doesn't love it, but she definitely likes it more than Twilight or Harry Popper.
She is Christian, maybe that's why...

Did the Easterlings even fought on the pelennor fields ?
Why did Hackson showed the in TT but not in RotK ?
What was the purpose?

>protagonists are elves and "the men of the west", both entirely white
>the black numenoreans are swarthy, the urukhai are black, and the enemies from rhun are asian/middle eastern
was lord of the rings racist? there's literally not a single good non-white character

Tolkin didn't cared about poc or your lovely mudslime friends you c u c k.
Also middle Earth was based on medieval times and the only non whites back then were eveil Invaders from middle East and north Africa.
At least from the European perspective.

read it obviously
just thought coh would be great movie material

They fought at Dale, off screen.

I unironically agree I love that movie.

Definitely, but I don't think it will ever happen.
Christopher doesn't want a "battle of five armies" all over again

you should check the submod divide and conquer for it

>Tolkien once wrote of racial segregation in South Africa, "The treatment of colour nearly always horrifies anyone going out from Britain."[114]

So I suppose he did care about poc then you fucking plonker ahahaha

dribbling spastic
shut your mouth and read a book you downy

Absolute retard

Black Numenoreans aren't swarthy, they're called that because they're evil

fuck off loser

Did you read the other half of my post or is your short memory fucked from getting rammed by a bbc in your mouth to much?

Samefag harder you fucking kike.

rorke

absolutely pathetic
get a grip on yourself and look at the post times mate

...

Still didn't explain why Jackson showed them, he could also use some random orcs.
Also Dale is in a completely different direction.
Gondor is in the South and Dale is far north.

...

Kek

Also Dale isn't far from Rhun (home of the Easterlings)

Thank you Reddit for killing the only thread I enjoy on this soulsucking board

Thx dude

epic, simply epic
*gives gold*

why didn't they just sail to mordor?

xDddd

The Sea of Rhun isn't connected with the Sea of Nurnen
Or do you mean they could just sale on Anduin?
I think it would be quite inconvenient

Until Avatar 2 and 3 are out, yes.

When will it be?
Avatar 2, 2020
Avatar 3, 2040
??

Not even being contrarian, I like the Hobbit more than LOTR (except for BOTFA) I just don't give a fuck about any of the other shit in LOTR other than frodo, Sam and gollum. With the Hobbit I cared more about Bilbo and the company. It's probably because i never got around to seeing LOTR until after desolation of smaug came out. The sense of disappointment you felt while watching the Hobbit comparing it to LOTR is what I felt comparing it to the Hobbit.

>yfw you will never be my 12 year's old me discovering the beautiful world of the rings

>2001
>not shitting your pants during this scene
ISHYGDDT

how based was my dad

>be 12 yo
>just read HP book
>walk by some bus station and see FotR poster
>'son, forget about Harry Potter. This is the real deal'

I still get Goosebumps at this scene
I wish I had a dad like you do, user :(

He sounds ok, but on a scale of 1-10 how much did he molest you?

Probably from 6 to 9

The age were most kids get molested
