What do you think of Gotham and Gotham Girl Sup Forums?

...

BIG

I think they should have gotten more issues' worth of development. Keep them around as supporting characters trying to help Batman with their powers for the first arc or two before killing one off.

MEATY

I like them a lot. Just enough backstory to make me feel for them but not enough for it to feel like decompressed garbage.

Well King outlined in an interview Gotham was only there to be a supporting case for Gotham Girl and next issue will be entirely about her.

SMACKS LIPS

That I keep seeing a boob window that isn't there.

The names make it really hard to find porn. I just want Gotham Girl upskirts

same. can't find any rule 34 on her

Gotham girl is cute! C U T E !

Oh wow this costume doesn't look half ba-
>sees she has tiny excuse of a skirt just to remind all the bad guys that she's a gril
eh.

Naw, shes a throw back to the heroines of old. I think its a nice touch.

Silver Age parodies, man. Pants would have looked find too, but the superminiskirt is hawt

Derivative
Pointless
Poor excuses for an arc

I know right?? How problematic! Why they don't do something more tatiCOOL?

Something like this amazing design that a dress our complains??

So what's the deal with them? Are they alt-universe Superman/girl?

No, and you dont need to know if you arent reading the comic.

I think I need more pron of her.

Does it have hexagons? It's not good unless it has hexagons, to remind everyone how futuristic and high tech its.

You don't need to know if you are reading the comic either. It's entertainment.

They were basically inspired to become superheroes and bought their powers on the black-market.

Things don't go well.

BLACKED!

>Things don't go well
That accurately describes a lot King's books.

She kills Gotham so Duke can have her for himself. She craves nigger cock like every other white chick in new comics

Holy shit that's exactly what happened to Carol Danvers.

>I want to show how strong and serious this character is so people will stop fapping to her
>Better turn her into Carol aka a man
>Because only men are strong and can be taken seriously
Third-wave feminists are some of the most self-hating people in the world

And Kryptonian physiology renders support superfluous you fucking casual.

Right, I read that. I guess I should have clarified better. What's happening to both siblings would have more impact if they'd had more development

DUKED

There is nothing wrong with Danvers' costume. The problem is that she sucks as a character. Always has and always will.

Give me a list of white comic females currently appearing in books who are in relationships with black men, please. It should be easy to list at least ten since every other one has jungle fever.

I have no problem with it personally even if I did prefer the black leotard. The problem that exists is that by changing the outfit to downplay Carol's figure and giving her a masculine haircut, all of which is fine with the goal of making Carol seem "stronger" is that it sends the message that feminine things are inherently weak, which is both sexist and blatantly untrue.

>all of which is fine with
*done with

Your argument would make sense if literally every change to Danver's costume was objectively an improvement when it comes to practicality for someone who fights all the time. Except that's exactly how it is so there really isn't an argument anymore.

Did you want to try to run that by me one more time?

But he's absolutely right though, almost every of Carol's feminine traits like her figure, long hair and Costume has been cut out for a more butch design to ake her more "Respectable" hero which carries the implications that feminine=weak.

Gotham Girl is cute! CUTE!

I'm pleasantly surprised to learn that Gotham girl is the character that King is gonna focus on.

I am in love with their costumes

More black man / white woman propaganda

Wha?

>when it comes to practicality for someone who fights all the time.

But comics doesn't need to be REALISTICALLY and taticool. Would gives a fuck about it?

Sorry, screwed I missed a word in there.

What I meant to say was that all of the changes to Danvers costume weren't meant to make her look like a man. They were meant to make her outfit more practical. High heels, long hair, and a leotard is fucking retarded. The only reason they were there to begin with was to sexualize Danvers. It has absolutely nothing to do with rejecting feminity. It's about rejecting sex appeal as the primary reason she's in the comic... what sucks was there isn't much left after you take away her sex appeal. She had the struggling alcoholic thing but even that is gone. Too much Tony's thing I guess.

The only changes that were combat advantageous are the reduced bust and short hair. And even the short hair can be done while maintaining a feminine style. What objective advantage does her butch cut have over, say, Jan's pixie cut?

There's all the fact that the heels off her boots could be used to inflict more damage with her kicks, and wouldn't impede her mobility because she can fly. So getting rid of them is actually a disadvantage.

see

Gotham is cute.

>Implying Duke isn't the best black character from the last 5 years

>pixie cuts aren't the least bit masculine
Now you are just trying to tout your preferences as facts. The fact is that it is shorter.

t. threatened Sup Forumsfag

I'm sad that Hank is dead, I liked the whole fanboy thing. Not a lot to say about Gotham Girl as of yet.

Were these a joke or serious?

He was great in We Are Robin, but he hasn't done anything in Batman to wow me. He's just kinda there.

>High heels, long hair, and a leotard is fucking retarded.

Why? Her costume was objectvelly better back them.

It's not like he has any real competition.
Who else is there? Riri and Moon girl?

>There's all the fact that the heels off her boots could be used to inflict more damage with her kicks, and wouldn't impede her mobility because she can fly.
I kek'd. Also why did they get rid of her Bra of Bewilderment or her Tampons of Terror?

You try getting in a fight wearing a leotard, long hair, and high heels.

She's a flying brick, her costume and look doesn't need to be practical.

Make me as powerful as Carol and I'll gladly fight in a thong and thigh high boots.

I'm not about to get into a fight about how shit making sense in a cape comic is better than shit not making sense. A lot of cape fans are allergic to realism. They avoid the mere mention of it like the plague.

>OH NOES! Muh realistic praticity!

How could we have allowed Wonder Woman fighting all these years with LONG HAIR?? Look how this detail is super important and significant on my stories about people punching each other with colourful costumes!

Great costume. Can't wait to see more of her. Skirt looks great while also not being in offensively bad taste.

Because, dear retarded femanon, all costumes end up looking THE SAME if you try to be realistically and go for praticity.

And the truth is: why caring about praticity should be important, rather than what looks cool or br have an interesting tone?

Do you know that if you wanted to do something pratical and realistically, Superman would spend all they just producing free energy, and Batman would be dead on the first month.

As this guy there's nothing for me really to complain about in that Zatanna costume except for a few superficial things. The coat is pretty blatantly copied from Owen's Scarlet Witch, and when used in conjunction with the poofy pants gives more of a pirate captain look than a magician. Retaining the top hat would let her keep her stage magician motif clear. The point is that you don't have to kill their feminity to stop them from looking like playboy bunnies.

In what way is a leotard less practical than a full-body suit? I'm taking about a regular leotard, mind, not that trashy crotch floss Carol has going on.

They aren't. That's why they're not used to make a statement about a person's sex life, whereas butch cuts send a pretty clear message. I prefer shoulder-length hair and long ponytails, personally.

Just because they don't HAVE to be doesn't mean they shouldn't. Having a practical costume makes a character seem serious and respectable. Compare Batman to, say, Six-pack.

You don't get tired of seeing skimpy costume after skimpy costume, though? A little variety never hurt anyone.

But this something that goes back to ancient times, it's a sign of how badass you are by going to battle with next to nothing on.

Double standards say differently. Going in unclothed is only cool for men. When women do it it's supposed to be sexy (see Conan and Red Sonja).

And how did that work out for you barbarian folk?

>all costumes end up looking THE SAME if you try to be realistically and go for praticity.

Not them, but I'm a man who loves Peej's costume, and this is objectively untrue. Costumes can make the superheroine not look like a stripper whilst still retaining a distinct, unique look. There is certainly a sweet spot.

Batman is street level tho I.E. a quishy mortal, I have no problem with street level heroes heroes applying to practicality but Carol is superhuman. They should dress however they want because they can.

>b-but Danvers lost her figure when they changed her costume
Depends on what you are reading.

Are you implying that women don't like to feel sexy? Women usually love female characters that are confident on their sexuality.

Do you know who was voted by women, as the most loved anime girl? Pic related.

Seems like you only get triggered by realismo, when it is about female costumes.

>Batman
>pratical
You are not being realistically user.

I do want variety, that's why I think they should've kept Carol as the voluptuous bombshell in tights and find a hero that would benefit from a practical redesign.

>black man blows his load all over blonde

Do you know that Mary Marvel uses the same type of costume that the person that I was arguing was criticizing for "not being realistically".

Crop out the text and see if anyone can guess who's in that picture.

>Seems like you only get triggered by realismo, when it is about female costumes.
>this victim complex

Except the costume she changed into also eliminated her individuality, which she had more if as "Ms. Marvel".
Consider that she had her own unique color scheme to Mar-Vell (Black and Yellow compared to his Red and Blue) and a different symbol (Lightning bolt vs Star of Hala).

Skirt is impractical, cape is a choking hazard, long hair is a grab point, clothes provide no protection, pirate boots don't have sole support.
I think user's point is if you design for absolute practicality/functionality it ends up boring which is why he posted a redesigner who made mostly just designs that are textured jumpsuits and manageable hairstyles

Huh, new design for Nico? That looks pretty decent actually.

>"Yes, this design bares no resemblance whatsoever to Zatanna..."
So basically this is a shitty costume, got it. Seriously, you have to TRY to miss the point this hard.

Didn't take her very long to get BLACKED. Based King.

>that tiny lightning bolt

Oh just get fucked, what possible reasin would you have to make her symbol so small?

>Are you implying that women don't like to feel sexy?
No. I'm just pointing out that trying to use the naked barbarian trope as justification is drawing a false equivalence since unclothed man and unclothed woman have different connotations is the present day.

And you're right. I wasn't thinking. Aquaman would have been a better example.

While I object to the reasons for the changes she made, can you deny that being a flat, muscular woman makes Carol a lot more distinct than when she was a fit, stacked bombshell? I can't think of any other female characters like that off the top of my head.

>Spoiler
Yeah, that costume is great in terms of the actual clothing, but with the desaturated colours and futuristic-looking panels(?) it's no longer a Supergirl costume. Would look great for a robot character, though.

They keep harping about the capes. Here's the thing though. GET ONE THAT TEARS AWAY! Fuck, even in BTAS, Batman was able to rip his cape off fairly easily when it got caught.

Not when Marvel is making everyone flat.

How did this go from being about QT Gotham Girl to shitting on about boring flight suits with hero emblems.

BLACK

This entire board is like this now. Literally every thread I went into today devolved into this. Sup Forums needs a purge.

Someone doesn't like Superheroes in skirts.
And they NEED to know how wrong they are.

I agree i also liked the Brother Sister dynamic they had i would have liked to see more of that.

At least they didn't kill off both like i thought they would im interested to see what they do with Gotham Girl.

Being Curvy was part of her character you ass.

I'm just pointing that you are reading a comic about a man that throws bat shaped boomerangs and jumps around in a cape.

Still, you say that Batman os "pratical", but giving a female character a skirt is too much, when none of these characters are realistic and the world don't work by a realistic logic.

Your way of thinking CAN work for some comics that focus on being more realistically, but isn't the most inteligent aproach on the Big 2, and comes out as biased. The Big 2 usually go for impact, coolness, characterization and simbolism rather than realism and taticool, while you are looking for something lie The Boys.

This guy get it. When you try to argue that a character NEED to have the most pratical and tatical costume, you will obviously get a same-y style without personality, that at best is painted differently.

But women being sexy and powerful is their wish fulfilment.

This would never happened if we had Gotham girl lewds.

oh look, it is the year 2000 again

Jessica Jones
Lana Lang
Carol Danvers
Barbara Gordon
Kara Zor-El (New Earth)
Kara Zor-El (Earth-2)
Diana Prince (Earth-1)
Shayera Thal (Earth-12)
Claire Clover
Anna Marconi
Anissa

I'm sure there's a ton more but I'm at work and can't devote too much time to it.

Pretty much this.

>Gotham Girl is cute!
Especially when she's surrounded by dead bodies :3

Ok...this was more than I expected.

Why about white men with black girls? I only know Iron Fist.

Who else is getting drawn as significantly flatter across all the books they appear in? And as pointed out, this isn't even true for Carol (though Rocafort and that Cho commission seem to be the exceptions so I've been referring to Carol as how she looks in her solo, which is a closer match to her appearance in other books besides Ultimates).

We discussed GG and I'd be happy to return to talking about her if someone contributed something new to the conversation. The transition to superhero costumes as a discussion topic was a logical one, so what exactly is the problem? Would you like us to talk about some shitty AUs for her or write erotic greentexts about her like they do in general threads so we technically stay in topic?
No that wasn't an offer to write something for you to fap to.

Howso? What was the significance of her figure to who Carol is as a person? I'm genuinely asking, as I'm not very familiar with her from before Kang Dynasty or during KSD's run.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not taking about what women do or don't want. All I am saying is that a woman and a man in equivalent states of undress during action sequences do not give off equivalent impressions.

Fuck off generalfag

>Still, you say that Batman os "pratical", but giving a female character a skirt is too much, when none of these characters are realistic and the world don't work by a realistic logic.
This is what I'm talking about. Excusing a lack of realism is one thing. The absurdity is kind of part of the charm. But so many cape fags are become hostile when realism comes up. It's like they think the idea of improvement for realism's sake calls into question the very foundations of their interest in cape comics.

You aren't bad or anything, but some anons... I just bring it up because there isn't much reason to argue my case when the adamant rejection of realism is so pervasive. All I can do is hunt down the source of that rejection.

>Earth one wonder woman
Steve wasn't a love interest.

>I only know Iron Fist.

they are broken up right now

Did not end up evil like I expected, just victims.

Scarlet witch for one

Im sure more people want to stay inside Gotham now
