It's garbage. Instead of showing us characters doing things and letting emotions rise naturally from this, Tarantino crafts every scene to create a specific emotion that he wants you to have - which isn't necessarily bad, but the emotions he creates are cheap and tawdry, mostly just juvenile edginess and shallow suspense. It's extremely dull, transparent, and manipulative filmmaking.
