Venom

So the backstory for how the symbiote got to earth is that Spidey needed a new suit on Battleworld, Thor got a new cape from a machine in a room full of machines, Hulk told Spidey that the machine was "in that room" and so Spidey got the symbiote.

Now here's the question, why was a clothing machine in the same room as the dangerous monster dispenser?

As I recall, the backstory was elaborated on further. Symbiotes are like hyper intelligent Aliens, who are parasites that kill the host organism. The Symbiote that Spidey got was a freak that could only cohabitate a host's body. It was on the run from its own people.

And that was caused by Deadpool wearing it for like an issue. But I don't like the new lore, especially everything in Venom:The Space Knight. Fuckin hate that comic, it's story is shit, it's art is really good, but sometimes artist just steals things, like in issue 6 he just stole Tau and Eldar ship designs from Warhammer 40k(yes, GW is going to sue).

That image is sexual.

Yes it is.

Bendis retconned that so that the symbiotes actually are a species that bond to other organisms and help police the universe, except they live in a far off sector of space (basically they're like green lanterns). However some of the symbiotes got corrupted by their hosts, split off to other areas of space, and decided to be dickheads (this explains those old storylines about the planet of the symbiotes and symbiotes eating their hosts and shit).

Furthermore, during the last secret wars/battleworld run there was a Deadpool book that took place during the original secret wars and integrated Deadpool into the story. In this run Deadpool goes into the costume room before Spider-Man, fucks with the shields, and puts on the suit. Afterwards he takes the suit off and puts it back commenting that it was probably traumatized after being exposed to the stuff in his head.

I don't care for any of the backstories really. I probably dislike the new Bendis stuff most though.

In general I feel like symbiotes have so much underused potential. So often they're just used as a dumb muscle suit but it makes more sense to me for someone to use it similar to the gameplay in Prototype (except sentient, of course).

Because it's alien clothing.

It might be living symbiotic creature, but it interacts with the host by becoming clothing.

You dip

every orifice

Battleworld origin is canon again?
I thought that was retconned to Jameson's astronaut son bringint it back from space or some shit.

Does it feel nice?

I doubt that's still canon. Because originally Venom didn't exist, Spider-Man was just becoming more and more of a dick.

i like that hood/maw

I'm seeing a lot of nipples in this thread.

I prefer The hood-maw is too much unnecessary bio-horror for me.

Oh c'mon. The spaceknight story isn't bad. I'll admit, it started off a little boring with the "stop generic space pirate guy", but I thought it was fun seeing Flash be the big damn hero he always wanted to be. And I loved that they started making the symbiote into its own actual character.
Plus, the latest arc where the symbiote went on a rampage and they had to stop it was fantastic. And we're getting Mania back. Plus, Kim Jacinto is an amazing artist.

>unnecessary bio-horror
MAN DID YOU COME TO THE WRONG THREAD

>yes, GW is going to sue
It was settle out of court by the Mouse paying GW not to cause a stink.

...

Next arc will be handled by Gerardo Sandoval that will carry over to the upcoming Venom Marvel NOW! 2.0 book.

...

Brock brought Venom to be brainwashed by a cult and now is going to make it drink the special kool-aid

He's the fucking worst host

But that is a maw where a maw should be. Just having teeth sticking out of some random place is why it is unnecessary and I think dumb.

Men usually get the inhuman horror treatment when becoming monsters whereas women tend to be drawn as sexy regardless, which is why I kind of like the hidden maw under the shadow of the hood in .

I just love how it's grabbing her between her legs, wonder if she gets pleasure from that...

Why is it symbiotes only seem to attack women when they are naked?

>Why is it symbiotes only seem to attack women when they are naked?

Symbiotes are personally and morally offended by clothes and clotheswearing heretics. Think of how many times Eddie would rebond with Venom fully clothed only to suddenly be running around with his Brock out and about.

I swear, Eddie and Wolverine probably were tied for most nude male appearances in the old days.

...

So who do you think is going to be the new Venom in Marvel Now? They said it's all new so now Flash and Eddie. (Also I don't think Carnage is ending, so Eddie's still gonna be Toxin).

I sometimes wonder what the canon effect of symbiote transformation is? Or is it that when you're not totally bonded it's just covering you, but after bonding it does pic related?

I have no idea, but I hope it's either Mania or Kaine.

If we're really lucky, something will go wrong with the purification process, and Mania's symbiote will be cured of only the demon, and become the classic Venom that they advertised. Then Flash can still be Agent Venom with another Venom around. I mean, Marvel's all about having multiple heroes with the same name right now, right?
2 Spider-men (3 if you count 2099)
2 Thors
2 Captain Americas
2 Iron men (except one's gonna be a girl)
2 Hawkeyes
2 Novas
2 Wasps
What's wrong with 2 Venoms? Then Flash could be like the mentor of the book, trying to hold her back from her more violent tendencies.

It varies from author to author.

Yeah sometimes they can totally goopify the wearer, which must involve some form of internal disintegration and later reintegration.

You might very well become a mess of barely cohesive cells when properly bonded.

>Then Flash could be like the mentor of the book, trying to hold her back from her more violent tendencies.

That would be my ideal situation, honestly.

>Yeah sometimes they can totally goopify the wearer, which must involve some form of internal disintegration and later reintegration.
>You might very well become a mess of barely cohesive cells when properly bonded.

I kinda dig this take since it one, further shows just how other-worldly the symbiote is and two, would make sense why a host would be dying or at least temporarily at their very worst when separated from the suit. You body would have to readjust to being "whole" , singular, and normal.

The symbiote can do some straight up wacky shit if you're bonded on a molecular level like Carnage

That was never canon in the comics. That's been used in adaptations like the 90s cartoon.

I miss Jenna. She was there briefly, but I liked Bock having someone to care for.

If Carange continues further, I wouldn't mind an arc with a focus on Brock and having her get a cameo or at least a mention.

Sauce?

this is a kid and a joke right ? do these new writers ever do any research before they post this kind of absolute shit . kid you are ruining my story you fucking retard go do some fucking research before you really get your self sued . cause your pissing me off.

New fetish acquired.

oh my god my dick

Any kind of supporting cast members or rogues that they gave Eddie never lasted.

Bump for more Katie-Venom. I need more of her ion my life...i haven't drawn in months, now the creative are juices flowing...

Probably Storm's best redesign ever.

>You dip

Was that really necessary?

>at first its like a slimy exo suit, acting like a second layer of muscles and armor.
>after roughly two weeks it integrates into your cells, mutating you and allowing better healing
>after more bonding you become dependent of it to continue living, seperation will cause your body to slowly shit down
>true merging like with carnage cause you and the symbiote become one being, you are no longer a human

>seperation will cause your body to slowly shit down

You know, I'd love to have a symbiote but the true bonding seems too spooky for me

Hasn't Venom had his symbiote longer? Why hasn't he gotten to True Merging yet?

>"I HATE IT when he gets the drop on me!"

If you're referring to Eddie, he has.

But it kept being forgotten.

>>at first its like a slimy exo suit, acting like a second layer of muscles and armor.
>>after roughly two weeks it integrates into your cells, mutating you and allowing better healing
>>after more bonding you become dependent of it to continue living, seperation will cause your body to slowly shit down
>>true merging like with carnage cause you and the symbiote become one being, you are no longer a human

I can dig it

To keep this thread going and not just disappear, I'd like to foster some discussion.

How would you do an MCU Venom?

I remember an user several months back had the idea of Pete being assigned to work with Brock and shadow him. He was a bit brash and intense but a good guy. They eventually became pals, but he kept getting a bit annoyed with Pete flaking out. Things come to a head when they crack a big case, Pete, using his powers, gets the big scoop and at the Bugle everyone's congratulating Pete for the amazing photo, but Jonah chews out Brock for not keeping up with him and Brock loses it steadily from there.

I'd love for them to stick to that angle. I like Brock and Pete having a connection before things hit the fan, I felt they did it well in Spectacular Spider-man.

Anyways I'd like:

-A reference to how Brock was at the Daily Globe, but with hims rising talents the Bugle engaged in a bidding war and he went over

-Have Ann in his life and his father in the background. It'd be clear there's some tension between the two and it's a serious sore spot for Brock so Pete NEVER mentions it after a particularly scary moment when a joke goes awry.

-One of the story elements that they could foster for a later sequel or spin off if they like is Kasady is on the loose and there's a continuing manhunt.

-Kasady would be his old serial killer self, but expand on the philosophy he's got going on in the comics, almost make him a leader of a movement, something about exposing the hypocrisy of everyday life (See: Carnage Mind Bomb) and that everyone needs to embrace death, violence, hedonism and....Carnage.

What about you guys? Share some symbiote love!

Just don't go for the Agent Venom tacticool bullshit and I'll be fine. Fuck flash even Angelo was a better host

HNNNNNNG

>Just don't go for the Agent Venom tacticool bullshit and I'll be fine. Fuck flash even Angelo was a better host

I like Flash and Brock for different reasons, but in the case of the films, I can't see them doing Agent Venom for the foreseeable future so I'd be fine with them avoiding that entirely.

...sauce?

It's like an anime where only people with a good synch rate can have super-powers
The close bonds of the elite cute anime school girls tend to top out at something like 95%
Harem MC gets 98% and 100% when he goes blank and enters berserker mode

Carnage is at 100% all the damn time because fuck you, he's Carnage

Oh, and he also killed everyone in the anime school because, again, fuck you, he's Carnage

>Intro is flashes big hero moment in iraq where he looses his legs. Only the montage of spiderman inspiring him is replaced with scenes of all the avengers commiting their heroic deeds
>military needs host the higher ups will aprove of
>include flash reconnecting with his bipolar dad on his death bed, this is a catalyst for him and venom merging
>stinger is carnage surviving execution attempts and breaking out

>Oh, and he also killed everyone in the anime school because, again, fuck you, he's Carnage

"What in the hell is 'Car-Why-EE?!"

>"What in the hell is 'Car-Why-EE?!"

"I'll tell you when you're older"

I imagine true merging is like being taken over by The Thing alien, only consensual. Your cells have been replaced with human/symbiote hybrid cells over time.Appearing like yourself is purely preference fro your past selves identity, like alex mercer

...

Again alex mercer comes up
I had completely forgotten that game for like 5 years and played it again recently. Goddamn that game was GOAT (on the first playthrough)

What about the anime where the cute girls do all the fighting and the MC is totally fucking useless?

Last night I finished vol. 2 of the Rick Remender Venom. It was great, but Remender tends to have these expansive emotional parts I skip. While they're great stories, they spend too much time dwelling on Flash's alcoholic father. Even AFTER that issue is resolved.

Venom has always been one of my favorite villains. I would host that symbiote.
