To take the red pill means ceasing to believe the gentle, happy lies that memetically fill a society and facing the hard truth. Let me give you some examples:
Pleasant lie: "All people are the same. Everyone should have an equal chance :^)"
Truth: genes determine behavior and ability.
Pleasant lie: "Women are sweet and kind and loving and nice. Men are angry, violent, aggressive, and mean. Men only want sex, but women want love :^)"
Truth: Men are sexually active while women are passive, but both are driven by lust. Women are more selective than men in their sexual exploits. Men prefer monogamy to a far greater extent than women, who prefer to have sex with aggressive men while they receive support from weaker, passive men.
Pleasant lie: "Work hard and you'll earn your rewards! If you're not successful, it's because you're lazy :^)"
Truth: Human beings privilege one another's access to material resources based on shallow factors like social cohesiveness, familial relations, and sexual attractiveness. Working hard is not even close to a guarantee that you'll make it, while many people make it very far in life without doing anything valuable at all. Your best bet (if you're not well-connected or highly atttractive) is not to work hard, but to learn to charm people to become a part of their social network (be manipulative).
