How much land does the federal government need to own?

The largest single owner of land in America

Routinely forces ranchers to sell their land

Why do they need all this land?

I like National and state parks

I don't give a rat's ass about some ranchers

>Routinely evicts squatters and deadbeats off public lands

If it's a public land, shouldn't it be opened for public?

Ranchers are allowed to not only have their cattle feed on national land at times, but also buy grass from the government at highly subsidized prices. Most of the people bitching are caught up in other federal crimes that are somewhat related.

You wouldn't understand Ivan, true freedom comes from the government telling you what not to do.

...or maybe you would understand.

This is prime UFO territory.

the queen is the single largest landowner in the UK

really makes you think

To be fair, in NV most of that federal land belongs to the military. Not exactly tree huggers.

>Why do they need all this land?

Because you cunts just won't lose fucking weight

So the elites can sell it to foreign actors.

>Why do they need all this land?
>NEED

I thought this word triggered freedom loving ameicans

Governments hold territorial monopolies. Of course it needs to own that much.
The State is better and more important than you.

There are two #49s CT and IA both at .3%. That is an annoying decision.

Unarable worthless land like the Mojave desert defaults to the government because no one else wants it?

This.
FPBP.

>Nevada
The entire state is an air force base except for Vegas.

>Utah
The entire state is a national park

>Alaska
90% of the state is uninhabitable wilderness

>Hawaii
20% of the state is uninhabitable volcanoes

wow it makes me think even harder because it isn't true. the largest landowners are 1) the forestry commission 2) the national trust and 3) the defence estates ie the mod. the crown estate is #6, and although it technically belongs to the queen, it is not her private property, nor can she choose how to manage it. you could say that the crown estate also encompasses the sea bed and the land under loads of freeholds in london which is technically true, but a) it's not property they can do anything with and b) it's not property at anyone's expense, ie the CE owning it makes no difference to anyone.
much more interesting is the vast amount of land owned by the duke of buccleuch, the duke of westminster, and the duke of atholl (who has the power to raise europe's only legal private army)

Dumbest fucking post ever.

Because it allows the feds to secure light rights usage under the guise of "conservation" which is both funded by the tax payers, and the land they lease out for timber.

Most people that would live in Indiana or Montana wouldn't need to cultivate the land, it's worth it's price in it's natural state. Hunters and outdoors men would purchase property to to live indefinitely off forest critters, farming, and small substantive ranching. The could lodge outsiders during hunter season and maintain healthy fauna populations.

If people think that federal land is public land are fucking retarded and are shills for a price fixing real estate market.

West Virginia is a nice place to live, the rockies is just the Feds trying to have everyone substantiate their existence in God's country.

kansas tallgrass prairie would be completely gone if private interests, not the govt, had not stepped in

your argument is shit

>true freedom comes from the government telling you what not to do.
holy fuck a figurative slave

>squatters

How are squatters like in Murica? Always thought only far-left types do this

pic related

Yeah it's mostly a European thing. We don't have too many antifa and other leftist retards so it doesn't happen too much. The laws are anti squatter in most states.

So they can sell it to foreigners

Ask Harry Reid
