>Not really, as far as ME countries go they're on the secular end of the spectrum. that's horseshit and you know it. Show me a prominent leader in the Middle East that is as secular as Merkel or the leader of any Western country is. >I don't recall anyone saying this you implied that when you said that Iraqi and Syrian Ba'athism are not the same, as if to say Assad was better than Saddam was. Perhaps he was at war with them, but you're saying that slaughtering as many as 60,000 Shia civilians wasn't an atrocity, just consequences of waging a war against supposed puppets of the Iranian state? That's a lot of puppets that Iran planted in Iraq. And shelling the holy sites of Najaf and Karbala? Doesn't sound like the tolerance of a secular leader to me. But nice apologisms. This post is also a good rebuttal to your stuff

>muh fantasy world As far as MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES go. Germans isn't in the middle east (yet). Also she is head of a party that is literally called the "Christian Democrats" and rules a country that still takes a church tax from a large chunk of its people.
>you implied that when you said that Iraqi and Syrian Ba'athism are not the same, as if to say Assad was better than Saddam was.
Well, that was not what I meant. What YOU said that people were praising Assad for being a better _Baathist_ leader, that is what I was referring to. In fact I see most people praising him for being a better leader period
Jonathan Sullivan
Look at how secular and rational the Turkish population is.
They think the coup was orchestrated by the Zionist West and Gulen, who fervently denied it and have no wish to create and unstable state in Turkey. But the Turks deny it, blaming them for all the shortcomings in their own country.
Oh by the way, give them visas.

SAA retreated, confirmed by SAA sources hours ago, it seems that the main target of that was just break the defense line and lure more and more the jihadist to pull of more men to be bombed.

map is from yesterday, that event is from today right?
Nathan Lewis
Fair point. I think Assad doesn't need that though, what he needs is diplomatic help and a complete stop of any equipment and supply deliveries to rebels. Also the Chinese could help him with cloning Col. Hassan, he's already half-man, half-wax so there shouldn't be any ethical concerns

You do not have to pay church taxes if you are not in the church. The german government has the control over the right to tax. Its a mean of control for the state over the church.

Based SAA killing K*rds
James Scott
Well for one thing the Chinese are extremely interested in post-war rebuilding. They probably want to negotiate a couple of sweet contracts with Assad. Chinese companies can make a killing rebuilding post-war Syria. They already have their hooks into much of Africa through supplying infrastructure and chinese workers, having a stake in the middle-east is only natural for a budding superpower that seeks to supplant the US.

Are you one of those people who actually thought they're on the same side?
If Hillary were President ATM she probably would have already had Qamishli airport carpet bombed, so Assad better get his punches in on the Kurds while he can.
Kevin Adams
They don't... Which is why they're there.
Every country loves a chance at some low-participation warfare. It's a great opportunity for training your armed forces under real conditions, as well as a testbed for weapon systems for (almost) free.
Robert Robinson
Probably criminal related, the NDF is made of scumbags and commit many crimes. Some have said the recent clashes started after some arrests or something.
Cooper Thomas
happens every few weeks. Asayish (the "police" of Rojava; a bunch of thugs) and NDF (a bunch of Iran paid thugs) attack each other from time to time. But this is the first time Assad bombed them. Not so smart in my opinion.
Chase Nelson
This is gold. Who would have thought that the guy siding with Israel when it bombs Syria can turn on his master so quickly.
Truly, the attempted coup on Erdogan has been nothing short of a disaster for the zionists.

Could be just air reconaissance to check the situation

True fact but this time, NDF didn't start the shit, YPG blow up a NDF point in the city and NDF get bored as they trying to put the "relocation project" in their "finishing the clashes" terms.

Kek, I knew the Kurds would turn on Assad eventually. Did you guys honestly believe the Kurds would allow Ba'athist forces to occupy any part of their "federation". They were just staying friendly with Assad while they were busy battling ISIS so they didn't have to fight a multifront war. Now that ISIS is kill they are finally making their move against Assad.
