Maybe they offered but they didn't want exclusives so they could work on creator owned stuff? I remember most of the announcements for the writers said that they could only work for DC and Vertigo. I'm guessing it's the same for artists.

They're not working on creator owned projects though. And it's not that restrictign anymore, lots ot DC exclusives still have ongoing projects at other publishers Joelle Jones at Dark Horse, Williamson at Image, Snyder at Image and Orlando even announced a mini at Boom AFTER he signed the EC exclusive. They didn't get offered exclusives. I can get not jumping at the idea of giving the artist of Innocent Dickgirls an eclsuvie until he gets so more mileage in the industry, I can get not offering it to Rossmo who might be more of an acquired taste(he's been in the industry for a long time now) but Ferreyra is an up and coming incredible artist.

From what I can tell, they're probably going to take Vertigo's content in Tom King's 'The Sheriff of Babylon' direction, with Gerard Way's Young Animals focusing on what Vertigo originally did.
