It would be the simplest thing ever and easily popular
>Rides the batman popularity train >Individual episodes for each member >Jason already dead leaving room for the red hood arc later on >Batwoman being a fringe part of the family that eventually is integrated more into the fold >Babs and Cassandra batgirls >Dick and Damian team ups >Huntress/catwoman because why not >Big climatic finale with all the batfamily working as a unit
anyway it's probably just redundancy and not wanting too many characters also most people just like batman's villains more than the supporting cast
>batman >robin >batgirl >person who is not one of these 3 things aka probably Nightwing
most end up content with those four and the last three showing up only occasionally
John Reed
You'd end up with a batman ttg type show which would be terrible Just make a Harley Quinn animated show she's a good deal more popular than all of those characters
Juan Green
>also most people just like batman's villains more than the supporting cast
Well yeah they've had the most exposure. You give characters like Cass or Steph that and they'd be way more popular. Hell one animated movie and one game appearance have been enough to make Jason Todd super popular with casuals. I think a Bat family show could be really cool and a good way to expand casuals knowledge of Bruce's friends.
Brody Turner
Watch Batman: Bad Blood. It's the best out of the New52 Direct to Video films.
It has Bruce, Nightwing/Dickbats, Damien Wayne, Batwoman and Batwing.
Liam Ortiz
I think it's a great idea. Most of the villains have been been over exposed, especially the Joker, and I would like to think that people would be interested in a change.
It may be more likely to get CW show out of this as rather than a animated one at the rate they are going. For better or for worse.
Jaxon Lewis
They almost made one. A show featuring Batman, Catwoman, Nightwing, Cass as Batgirl, and either Tim or Damien as Robin in No Man's Land was pitched and almost got the greenlight, but a higher-up at Cartoon Network thought it was too dark.
I think Beware the Batman is what happened instead.
Elijah Reyes
That's a shame. CN are pretty shitty these days. How often do good shows appear there these days?
Chase Barnes
>Batwing >Batwoman They both fucking suck. All Batwoman did was take Huntress's spot
Ryan Kelly
Bertinelli Huntress has never really had a spot in the family.
Nathaniel Perez
>No Azrael people need more taste.
Carson Brooks
Too religious for kids TV He said, knowing nothing about the character
Matthew Diaz
You're probably right though. CN won't do anything risque now.
Dominic Peterson
Guess that'd be the case. Would still like a knightsfall cartoon.
Parker Sanders
see
Connor Hughes
This.
>Hell one animated movie and one game appearance have been enough to make Jason Todd super popular with casuals Jason was kind of a special case. I don't think the others will be as popular as him with the casuals to be honset. See Damian for example, the casuals seriously hate him.
Kayden Ward
I kind of hope that whatever the next Batman cartoon is eventually it's this.
Just focus on Dick and Damian with Bruce M.I.A. The "family" is in shattered after Bruce is apparently dead from a battle with the Joker which left Barbara crippled. Then suddenly Tim finds out something from a mute League of Assassin member named Cassandra who defects to the Bat side that Ra's might have him. He doesn't. Instead it's Hugo Strange who's the surprise big bad and the finale is him unleashing Man Bats and Monster Men all over Gotham.
Michael Evans
I don't know if a Batman show without Batman would even get greenlit. It's a neat idea though.
Nolan Scott
Batman = Dick for the first season.
Cameron Wright
I just want a suitable vehicle to make Dini's episode with Dream and Death.
Lincoln Myers
Dick isn't Bruce though. I would expect that to turn casuals off.
Justin Smith
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
A Batman family series that starts out with Batman dead and the family split. The first season is about Dick trying to hold it all together.
Dick trying to keep Damian from going to shit Jason as the Red Hood Barbara as Batgirl who left Gotham because she and Dick has a falling out after Bruce's death Knight and Squire cameos Batwoman and Batwing are a thing
No Tim
Bruce comes back in season 2
Juan Anderson
That's why you save it for at least the middle of the season. Just refer to him as Batman until then and don't take off the cowl.
Nathan Brooks
>No Tim
Why? Is Tim not well liked?
Robert Taylor
It's kind of a big thing to ignore. Having him masked and only referred to as Batman by everyone else just wouldn't work.
Christopher Hernandez
Ignore that suggestion it's terrible.
Lead with the idea that Batman is dead. Frame it that he died fighting great evil and that the original Robin is trying to carry on his legacy as best he possibly can. They can flashback to Batman's death and they can flashback to Dick's time as Robin and Nightwing. Own it.
Carson Morales
Batman sells, this would do well.
Hunter Russell
TNBA was becoming the Batfamily show, the only problem is that they made Jason Todd being called Tim Drake.
Oliver Powell
Tim has been bad for the past 15 years and irrelevant for the last 10. He still has a fanbase but he doesn't really seem necessary.
Extraneous legacy characters bloats the cast list. Easier to use ones with unique identities.
Jason Richardson
Okay. I'm not really a fan of his myself so I'd be fine with him gone.
Juan James
They just need to reboot disgusting pseudo-new52 animated universe and create something rebirth-like or just continue Young Justice. No need to create new shit.
Camden James
It would be too dark for CN we only get light hearted stuff and comedies now.
Brandon Hernandez
>It's the best out of the New52 Direct to Video films. that's not a high bar
Jace James
She was the black sheep. She worked with the Batfamily at times, but her philosophy was too different from Batman's. She had decent relationships with the rest of the family, too. She got along with Tim fairly well. She liked to argue but also fuck Nightwing. Babs didn't like her at first, due to her dressing up as Batgirl (and also fucking Nightwing), but they eventually ironed out their differences.
Jaxon Nelson
>Batgirl fucks Batman on a rooftop, masks on >later reveal that Batman was Dick
Henry Butler
Is there DC cartoon where we really get a lot of Nightwing?
Like Young Justice had him a little but I can think of any other extended appearances by him where he was a main character.
Adrian Campbell
There was a Nightwing/Catwoman show pitched at some point, because of fucking Bruce Timm
Xavier Phillips
I've been real interested in this for a while now but there's just so much stuff that I don't know where to start in regards to reading or watching anything Batman related.
Where should I start?
Thomas Lewis
>Nightwing/Catwoman >Batman/Batgirl
Is Bruce Timm a swinger?
Jaxson Sullivan
I think there was a good run of batman inc at some point.
Not the same thing exactly but Gotham City Sirens is probably my favorite batman related team up book (but it's with harley, catwoman and ivy).
Austin Gomez
Ah, I should've mentioned that I'm new all this. I just don't know if I should start at the old comics or pick whatever the hell I want. Thank you for your suggestions.
Jason Gray
What about other people that are sometimes members of the family? Azrael, Harold Allnut, Batwing, bat...dog?
Luis Stewart
also, would Flamebird(Bette Kane) be a member?
Caleb Davis
Just wait for the next one in the "batman has a son" series of movies they're doing. Bad blood ended on Batgirl showing up so maybe they'll so a take on the development of the oracle since the killing joke fucked it up so bad.
Thomas Wood
Start with Morrison's run pre-flashpoint, or Snyder's in the New 52.
Anthony Hughes
Alright, thanks. I think I'll start with Snyder's New 52. Looks interesting.
Henry Jenkins
It would be pretty easy to do a Batfamily comedy, just make it like Malcolm in the Middle with added vigilantism. All the Robins pretty much fit into sitcom archetypes, >Dick = cool big brother Jason = bully big brother >Tim = nerd brother Damian = suspiciously violent baby
Jose Diaz
Just be sure to not just read stuff since the New 52, or you're ignoring fantastic stories.
Jace Hall
Right, I'll be sure. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to finally getting into this.
Jordan Martinez
He was in a lot of the original DCAU. He's got his own rogue's gallery, I think he could support his own show.
Tyler King
Pepper in lots of flashbacks.
Jason Morgan
I fucking hate Batwoman more than anything, a Jewish lesbian military leader.... Aaaaaargh!!!
Stephanie Brown should be just Tim's girlfriend, I would like a Batman and Outsiders series, where Batman is challenging the US Goverment.
Samuel Davis
Because no one gives a shit about them outside of Nightwing.
Xavier Ward
The main ones have their fans. A show like this could bring all those fans together and introduce a lot of new people to Cassanda, Tim, and even Batwoman.
Ayden Powell
Why? Why is a Batfamily even a thing? Don't Mr.grumpyIdon'tneedanyone can't do it alone?
Camden Walker
That's kind of the point. Not a lot of people give a shit because most of them really only show up in comics. The way to make them more popular is to put them in shows and games so they get exposed to a wider audience that might enjoy them.
Ayden Walker
Why isn't there a CW "Bat Family" show? They can have 10 episodes of teen drama about Dick/Barbara then other 10 about Tim/Steph then go back to Dick/Huntress and then have some criminal cameos just to remind people is a show about superheroes.
Cameron Robinson
I guess it could happen now. Supergirl is getting Superman for a couple of episodes so Batman could maybe get his own show. Gotham may need to cancelled for this to happen though.
Oliver Diaz
>Nightwing The casuals don't like him much, user.
Jace Cruz
they don't give a shit because they are shit now go and jerk off to the gay thread where Nightwing and its fans belong
Justin Ross
So Cass?
Robert Adams
that's kind of the point. he CAN'T do it alone. he NEEDS a family do actually make a difference
Aaron King
boop
Bentley Brown
Why would casuals not care for Nightwing? Dick been around longer than most and most people know him (at least by robin anyway) so I would expect him to be pretty over with fans.
Michael Lopez
Casuals know ROBIN. They don't know who the heck is Dick Grayson or Nightwing.
Jason on the other hand is actually more well known and loved by the casuals.
Gabriel Williams
>Why would casuals not care for Nightwing?
He doesn't really have a hook? Most of his fans like him because of his growth from sidekick to hero. If you don't show that Nighwing is a pretty boring character. Has there ever been a good showing of Nightwing outside comic books? The Arkham games pretty much used him as a punchline, and I can't remember how they used him in Young Justice.
Joshua Lopez
Are you kidding? Maybe casuals don't know red hood, but even I knew Nightwing at like, 5 years old.
Caleb Phillips
>Maybe casuals don't know red hood They know Red Hood, user. Jason is currently the most popular Robin in pop culture after all.
The fact that you know nightwing when you were kid doesn't mean the others did too.
Sebastian Jackson
Who cares what "Casuals" know when making a show like this?
It's not like there wouldn't be plenty of Batman villains that most people DO know about.
Most people already know Batgirl and Robin so this would be a pretty cool chance to show people their distinct personalities.
Parker Fisher
That show would have been fucking great.
Juan Bennett
This would be the only instance in which I'd be totally okay with yet another Batman cartoon. It's already practically my dream Batman show pretty much.
I'd say throw in Batman Inc. during the later seasons, and some bits of the martial arts aspects of Batman, with Lady Shiva being a prominent villain (I mean, you basically have to if you're going to have Cass), and we're golden/set. Maybe throw in some tangential Batman characters like Black Canary too.
I'd watch the fuck out of this.
Elijah Hall
>low hair cut dick
pls no
Carson Clark
go away millerfag
Luke Reyes
>wanting more batman
i'm fucking tired, there are more dc character you know?
David Gutierrez
>Jason is currently the most popular Robin lol no
Aiden Collins
Next one is Judas contract and they are replacing Dick with Damian
Landon Bell
but tumblr would like his butt
and with batwoman they have to like the show
if its big on tumblr, think of the fanart
think of the [spoilers]porn
Noah King
Not that guy but he will be if they show him dying in Batman's movie since the dead robin is confirmed to be Todd
Josiah Sanchez
So, it will be another movie centered in Damian again ?
Julian Diaz
>Jason is currently the most popular Robin in pop culture after all.
I'm a big Jasonfag, but whenever I talk about Robin to casuals and normies they just think his name is Robin, let alone that there are multiples of him.
Tyler Martin
Oh yeah. I'm sure that Blue Beetle show or Aquaman show would do great!
Andrew Parker
So much want.
Caleb Lewis
True, but he's still right tho because Jason is indeed pretty popular with them.
And there are people who actually think that Jason is the only Robin or at least the first one.
Jonathan Jenkins
>tfw when no Batman/Batgirl/Nightwing/Catwoman orgy scenes
Carter James
>D..Don't try. You might fail.
Dylan Walker
Only if they can include terry in an episode
Jaxson Kelly
He got a couple of appearances in Justice League so i'm sure they could make room.
Kayden Thompson
>what is Static Shock Keep slurping on the Batcock, DC loves your kind.
Robert Hill
Is No Man's Land the greatest Batfamily story?
Adrian Ward
>Aquaman Actually, an Aquaman cartoon or show could very well be great. It could be something relatively fresh and original too, since he's almost never had his own dedicated tv show. And it's not like he doesn't have a pretty good supporting cast or rogues gallery either. Dude's got Mera, Garth, Tula, Kaldur'ahm, Vulko, Dr. Stephen Shin, and so on as supporting characters. Plus Black Manta and Orm at least as villains. And on top of that, it's not like they couldn't just make new ones as well.
An Aquaman cartoon could do a lot of good for him.
I really think he, the Flash, and WW should all be given a chance at having their own cartoons. GL should really be given another chance as well.
A Zatanna or JLD cartoon could work as well.
Kayden Hernandez
How is the beyond universe changed by Damian's presence?
What's the point of terry if Damian exists?
William Robinson
Batman #700 had Damian in Bruce's role essentially. Even then there are alternate futures and what not.
Christopher Taylor
The "Batfamily" is super fucking gay, there's a reason it's so popular with women. Robin is fine but Batman should be about being a cool vigilante detective, not soap opera bullshit or the power of fucking friendship, it's not fucking X-men
