The fact that it's the Star Wars of its generation.

People are still tuning in hoping to see a continuation of the Sneed/Chuck story.

Cost to make vs Ad dollars.

When the voice actors get too greedy (or should I say greedier), the show will end.

the porn keeps it going

It will end at Season 30 in 2019. Mark my words.
Reasons:
>nice solid number to end on, FOX can hype it up
>show has been creatively bankrupt for long-time, even most hardcore fans abandoning it
>the brief revival in some form of cultural relevancy and popularity among the kids around the movie and season 20 hype was totally exhausted by the turn of the decade: younger kids prefer family guy to modern simpsons by far (current family guy being in the same state that 2010 era simpsons that kids and young adults like/know it and can reference it, but most don't actively watch new episodes)
>in 2015, was still able to make the 10+ million viewer mark; this past May, ratings reached an all time low when the season finale barely passed 2 million viewers
>Harry Shearer publicly expressed desire to quit, probably won't be on board much longer
>Hank Azaria has starring role in new comedy series already renewed for a new season in 2018
>majority of cast members in 60s and 70s, one major cast member recently died
>FOX almost cancelled the show in 2011 over cast members' high salary demands of $500,000 each per episode
>local syndication revenue drying up as fewer local stations renew their contracts to air episodes, opting for newer sitcoms instead
>cable syndication revenue almost nonexistant as Simpsons's 300,000 viewer average on FXX on weeknights pales in comparison to the 1.5 - 2 million average shows like Family Guy, American Dad, and the Cleveland Show get in reruns on Adult Swim and TBS
>streaming revenue non-existent as it's only able to stream on special "Simpsons-world" app which literally nobody will pay for, as opposed to Family Guy which is still one of the most streamed shows on Netflix
>Family Guy still makes a significant amount of money from each new season's DVD and digital download releases; The Simpsons stopped at Season 17 in 2014 because FOX was actually losing money
>essentially, when it ends, Family Guy will still be enough to keep the $$$ flowing

Think it'll end when the voices of the main cast die? Or think they'll just replace them

I would never think that The Simpsons would ever get any fappable porn.

>this shitty cartoon passes for culture in America
sounds about right

you uncultered fuck

it's spelt, "uncultured"

I always thought they'd stick around until South Park went off the air. And I always thought that South Park would stick around until the Simpsons went off the air (or at least until they surpassed the number of seasons that the Simpsons was on the air). But you may be right. It can't keep going.

The possibility of more Simpsums.

Homer was okay with it and Marge played along enjoying the 3-some

Yeah. The thing is Family Guy will at least be able to last as a current running show and syndication dominator (seriously, Family Guy reruns are usually in the Top 5 cable broadcasts any given night) for the next 5 years until traditional tv becomes too unsustainable. Same thing with Bob's Burgers which despite getting just decent ratings, is a huge hit with current youth and young adults that stream it, so that will definitely go until season 10 at least. Producing new Simpsons episodes is still making a profit, but it's far far less than what it used to be even just a couple years ago.

Hell, I know my parents love the Simpsons and used to watch it back when it first started. We all began watching it as a family every Sunday night back in like 2003-ish. They would still watch it with my younger brothers too, even as it just got so unbelievably shit, it was tradition and a cultural icon. Same thing with SNL. But by Season 26 they literally just checked out.

The Simpsons will never die, even when it gets cancelled there will be countless revivals 10, 20, 30 year, etc after it is cancelled, just like all the old Hanna Barbara cartoons

When sneed gets his own story arc

When I was studying abroad I noticed that alot of European students watched it in English (I presume to better their language skills). Most native English speakers I meet either hate it or are barely aware of it.

Shekels

Literally how I learned to speak english. Everybody I speak to gives me shit for sounding too much like an american.

Satan = Sneed ?

Holding the record for longest running US cartoon.

That's it.
