Why the fuck are spaniards talking so fast? I'm watching a spanish tv series because I'm learning the language, but the speed they are talking is shocking, thankfully I have spanish subtitles.
By the way, Is that the case for all spanish speakers or this is a spaniards thing?

I sometimes watch Spanish movies, and some of them are unintelligible due to how fast and with how much slang they use. I'm fine with the slang, I can get used to it, but it's worth nothing if you can't clearly hear them.
So a mexicananon (with spanish as a native tongue likely) also thinks they talk very fast.

Well, I did go to Madrid 2 years ago, and I remember people speaking fast, although I didn't pay attention like I do now, eh.

Really? I've never feel that way. Always thought Chileans and Caribbeans spoke faster but not enough to not understanding them.

Honestly, why the fuck everyone speaks so fast? Tunisians are the only ones i heard talking slower then italians.
In their low budget movies it's different. They speak perfectly normal on youtube and other media. But their million movies about Franco's regime (every movie they make that you don't get to see is about that) and about jail breaks or similar shit, they get some rural hicks with incredibly thick accents, 8/10 words consisted of slang, who speak fast as fuck. Even more than Chileans.
