I guess getting Blacked wasn't enough for King; she's going full Britney.

I can't believe that this shit is by the same dude who did Vision and Omega Men.

waifutards should get cancer.

>wahh wahh this character looks different this book sucks now wahhh
I thought you were better than this Sup Forums

>waifutards
Is she anyone's waifu? I mean: she's an OC that's been around for 5 issues that's basically Not-Supergirl; except that rather than having her whole world die in an explosion she had her immediate family die horribly and she's working that Spawn style "oh woe, my powers will kill me eventually ... unless my comic keeps selling in which case not" thing.

Does anyone give a fuck about Gotham Girl? I mean, you come into Batman expecting to read Batman and instead you get King's OC Donut Steel Waifu.

>Does anyone give a fuck about Gotham Girl?
Well, she's supposed to eventually marry (this year's) Not-Robin; so I'm guessing that Duke cares.

Outside of that, not so much, no.

And I expect both of them to be put on a bus just like Bluebird was sooner rather than later.

they can't
they ARE the cancer

>OC Donut Steel Waifu
King literally calls her Supergirl (and Duke Robin) in this interview. Fuck off.

>I want 30 million dollars!
youtube.com/watch?v=cKKHSAE1gIs

>Does anyone give a fuck about Gotham Girl?
They sure seem to think so. From the article:
"TK: We’re going to explore Gotham Girl in depth over the next few years"

Also:
"And Gotham Girl’s origin wasn’t just a few pages. It was a five-issue story. You saw what she went through and this is the start of her impact, here and across the DCU. Her impact is going to be felt far and wide. She’s going to play a role in the death of Batman and she’s going to play a role in the future of DC Comics."

This is the first I'm hearing about them killing off Batman (again) this soon after Rebirth. Have I just been out of the loop?

Fuck you, OP, there is a guy named Colonel Blimp, who is stealing a submarine and apparently not for the first time.
So kindly take your waifufaggotry and leave.

It was in the last Batman issue. Since thay have been pretty carefree with talking about his death, it's safe to assume it's a metaphorical one

>a guy named Colonel Blimp, who is stealing a submarine
Gotham City's submarine, no less. You'd think they'd wise up after the first Theft From Above.

God dammit, King, we want to read about fucking Batman in Batman for a few issues before you double down on bobo Supergirl.

Cutting your hair is a sign of character development for female characters, King learned this secret from Japan.

>it's safe to assume it's a metaphorical one
I dunno:
"As for Batman’s mortality, when I first got the book, I got my best friends together — these super comic nerds — and asked, “What is Batman about?” And they all said, “He’s human.” So, what does it mean to be human and not a god doing this? He’s just a guy who seems to be willing to die. This aspect of the character where he’s not like Superman or Wonder Woman, where he’s vulnerable and not a god, I think is really a fascinating thing to explore. And it raises the stakes across the board."

I think it would piss people off coming so soon after Bruce got his memories back after all that time with Bat-Bunny Robocop (and so soon after Old Superman died); but it sure doesn't sound metaphorical here.

Usually that involves a bob cut or something similar. Not a close shave.

>she’s going to play a role in the future of DC Comics
Has anyone broken it to the writer that they've literally just launched a Supergirl ongoing; a SuperWOMAN ongoing; and are gearing up for a SuperSONS ongoing? Might not be the best time to be introducing an angsty/edgy knockoff of Lois/Lana/Kara.

I mean, after you walk him though the fact that people pick up Bat-books to read about unpowered Bat-folks and generally go over to the Super-books I just mentioned for their flying brick fix.

>they trusted Tom King

Serves you fags right.

>King learned this secret from Japan
More likely Sinead O' Connor or Britney Spears, senpai.

So is she going to tear the pope in half

lol you're old to make that reference.

Harper's bus is coming back.

>we want to read about fucking Batman in Batman for a few issues
How about Suicide Sqwad?

dccomics.com/comics/batman-2016/batman-9

It's going to run us over...

If the second arc blows it with me I'll have hit the eject button before this.

>Harper's bus is coming back
Yeah, but it's picking up not dropping off:
newsarama.com/30861-is-batman-headed-for-another-death-in-the-family.html

Timmy's gonna go back to school.

And Harper will take his spot on the team, the writer (who is the man responsible for Batman and Robin Eternal, a Harperwank book) confirmed her to return in Detective Comics in an interview.

Damn, King is right that it would feel great if Batman died on the job, to show off his humanitty and leaving an impact on others....I wish this thing was creator owned like Hellboy, because the death would have a real impact.

>I'll have hit the eject button before this
I dropped Grayson and JLD because I can't stand Mikel Janin's poser work so I'd have dropped this after the really underwhelming rebirth issue if not for OM, SoB, and Vision. I really needed this first arc to give me a reason to stick around and bald supergirl and black robin are the opposite of that.

Meh. No great loss: I'm reading all of the other bat books besides Red Hood already so it's not like I'm not getting the recommended allowance of utility belts and bat emblems in my diet.

>confirmed her to return in Detective Comics in an interview
Gonna need some sauce with that.

The part about her taking his spot is simply my assumption given recent events, but her coming back from the interview part is true, alas I lost the link.

>it would feel great if Batman died on the job

>it's safe to assume it's a metaphorical one
Looks like:
twitter.com/tomkingtk/status/771359484237189121

Either that or he means it's happening THIS year!

Congrats, you've spotted someone who just got into Batman and thinks this will be clever.

Just like Tom King.

AHH AN INTERRACIAL RELATIONSHIP
AHHHH SOMEONE IN A TRAUMATIC CIRCUMSTANCE SHAVING THEIR HEAD

THIS IS A BAD COMIC!!!!!!!

You got that out of your system or are you gonna take some more bait?

>gives herself 'extreme makeover'
>soils herself with dindu cock
She should be shooting her first porn any day now to complete the "daddy didn't pay me enough attention" trifecta.

Have you guys ever thought that he shaved her head because you guys were trying to waifu her? Because King seems like the type of guy who would rather make you read for his story and not pretty girls.

Then why did he make her a pretty girl in the first place? Why not just make another Harper Row if he wanted people to be physically repulsed to the point her character had to shine over it?

Because King probably didn't expect the waifuism to happen.

Or the more probable reason is that he wanted to show her going through shit which is why she's talking to her dead brother and shaved her head.

Wait why the shaved head?
The rest I don't mind but why the shaved head? She looks paler too, like a blonde Batwoman

That's very dumb of him.
Also it feels very unlikely
>Oh god how could this happen? Who could have foreseen people would be attracted to a slim big breasted blonde who wears short skirts. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD! ART SLAVE I NEED YOU TO TAKE THESE ISSUES YOU FINISHED WEEKS AGO AND UGLY THIS BITCH UP! And make it snappy, this has to go to print last Friday.

>he didn't shave her head as a really really lazy way to get across the fact that she was damaged
>he shaved her head as an intentional TAKE THAT to people who thought she was adorable
That would actually make this arc WORSE, user. Which is perversely impressive.

>The rest I don't mind but why the shaved head?
Last issue she more or less killed her own brother* (who was her idol and is the entire reason she's a superhero). Now she's talking to him (or his ghost or memory or whatever) and is probably still fucked up due to Psycho Pirate giving both of them the Mind Whammy back at the start of the arc.

TL;DR shaved head on a grill is right up there with a literal straight-jacket when it comes to visual shorthand for "coo-coo for coco puffs"

*technically he was going to burn out soon either way but she didn't have much option but to speed things along by getting involved.

Thanks to V for Vendetta I kinda associate shaved girl head with level-headed more than crazy.

Maybe I need to watch some VH1 story about Britney Spears to see shaved head girl as crazy again.

I like you guys but this BLACKED thing is going out of control, I'm sure some of you are trolling but I'm pretty sure some of you guys are really upset over this.

I'm enjoying King's run a lot desu. He writes some great Batman moments like the jetpack or the one where he punches General Lane and gives great characterization to Waller for example.

I'm honestly curious as to how he's going to handle other characters, and his love for continuity is also a plus.

>I like you guys
I don't like you.

>Thanks to V for Vendetta I kinda associate shaved girl head with level-headed more than crazy.
GI Jane for me.

Also Storm

Newsflash: you can introduce new characters to comics.

>this BLACKED thing is going out of control
The good news is that Babs is over her brief flirtation with the Dark Side. The bad news is now she's got the Yellow Fever.

>Also Storm
That was more going back to an older look (when she was leader of the Morlocks) than just going full q-ball, though.

>Yellow fever
I doubt anyone cares.

>I doubt anyone cares.
Me either, which was why I posted it in reply to someone wondering how much of the Blacked thing was trolling vs actual butthurt.

What's the male "feels unloved trifecta"?

Shaved head, nazi paraphernalia and a garbage can full of cum rags

Well king also said she was quite literally a standin for supergirl and by shaving her head she resembles her much less. It shows that she no longer sees herself as a supergirl-type figure.

I'll agree it's perhaps a bit overused, but the reasons seem clear enough

The only one exploring her depths is Duke.

I know right, these boards are more obsessed with BBC than women who act in BBC porn could ever be. It's weird.
