The US didn't send a women's swim team to the 1912 games because it was thought to be unladylike and obscene.

Hi there, vosotros :3

Why do I have to be friends with the Britishits again? We're worst enemies, so it's just make no sense to be in an alliance together.

V O L U P T U O U S

Let's be realistic Kameraden, this is gonna be the German century

Love being British, mates. The British Empire is humane, loves peace, and has the best military and tactics. And I feel that Britains at home really do appreciate us Australians as an integral part of their Empire. I don't think there's anything that could change that for us.

C-cool, just cool it man. We'll leave you alone in Europe, but just fuck off from Morocco.

P-please disregard the new military service we've just instituted though.

This Russian Loan plan is great, feels god to know I'll get tons of monies from my investment.

We're still on the same page about Morocco, right?

we need a place in the sun, m8. Colonies are expensive, but I am sure this is an investment that is gonna pay itself off eventually

>The tsar has such an iron grip on his peoples, and is so thankful to us that this might just be one of the most fruitful and safe investments France has ever made. Can't wait for my steady flow of dividends from the Tsardom in 10, 20, 30 years :).

Uh sure... I've been going through your military records for your side of the protectorate and who is this "Franco" officer? He keeps walking over to French Morrocco to tell our men how much he hates France?

Heh well I hope we can be the best of friends eventually then :). I'm glad the past is behind us.

Shit, shit how do I delete an image on this telegram server?
Help...

Lamo we cuckolded you out of a river in the desert so we can tax your exports you are our bitch

Invest in britcoin

*gets lynched*

Indeed, after reaching global supremacy in the intellectual and industrial sphere, we will soon dominate the oceans as well! Let's build a fleet that will surpass the ones of the ancient powers!

sure, this is a new century of technology and enlightenment. I am sure that the barbaric acts of war are a thing of the past now

Uh...were there _any_ attractive women prior to the 1960s at all?

We should celebrate the peace between at our nations at Verdun some day, like a few years. It is after all where our two countries were born.
Fuck it, let's just call it the "Verdun, peace celebration year 1916"

No better place to relive it peacefully.

what happened to Canada in 1922?

I get that Ireland gained independence and I suppose Hungary's souvereignty took some time to manifest itself after the treaty of Trianon, but what happened to Canada?

There was no significant event regarding them, was there?

So much for ol' Teddy.

this map disgusts me

That tranny on the right

(Just stepping out of the LARP for a second, this was only advocated by a meme far-right group known as Action Française. Everyone else was simply pining for Alsace-Moselle, and a weakened Germany).

Unless some hotheads like Georges Clemenceau who wanted to annex the entire left bank of the Rhine.

Well you have to nuance 1915 and 1919 then again. By 1919, it didn't seem that jarring to think of annexing the left bank when it was obvious the UK and the USA would help Germany back to their feet promptly, and conspire with them to start WWII.

Here I was defending that these weren't the ambitions generally held in 1915.

>balkanizing Germany
sounds like a good plan

>Franco
No idea, probably some delusional NCO who believes he will get a promotion if he works in Morocco kek. Our army is full of these losers and so is yours.

The harshness of the ToV was overstated anyway, certainly it was a very soft peace treaty compared to what a victorious Germany would have done. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk is a fairly good indication of the fate that awaited France.

Norway can into South Pole. Try to keep up brit shits.

There's actually the September program that's more accurate for you to conceive to yourself how a victorious Germany would've redrawn borders, and it's essentially pupetting the whole of the East Europe, Belgium, and swallowing huge swaths of northern France with our iron and coal regions.

Anyways, thank you for admitting to what American contemporaries couldn't, that the treaty wasn't that harsh considering what else could've been. Americans then simply abided by the British in wanting to curb what the victory could mean for France. Ironically, the 1929 krach in the US did more hatm to Germany than the ToV ever did.

And it was mostly Woodrow Wilson who wanted to curb the clay-stealing tendencies of the European states, he was largely responsible for Albania preserving her fragile independence.

I'd be agitating for socialist revolution, reading the things being put out by all the different leftist thinkers back then. God, what a time to be alive. So much debating and critiquing going on, so many people honing their theories and arguments.

You guys are a country? When did that happen?

>Anyways, thank you for admitting to what American contemporaries couldn't, that the treaty wasn't that harsh considering what else could've been

Germany itself had not been touched by the war and it wasn't subjected to military occupation except for French troops in the Ruhr for a few years. The clay that they lost in 1919 mostly had non-Germans in it, chiefly Danes and Poles, and Germany was able to recover quick enough to start a new war within 20 years. In addition, most of the exorbitant war indemnities required by the ToV never got actually paid anyway.

And yet he did a very shitty job of impacting the peace deals. He let the borders of africa and the middle east be drawn up by Europeans. He fought to make the league of nations, but couldn't even get america to join, and spent years of his presidency avoiding his resonsibilities to his people. Really shitty guy.

1905. So they're probably still whinging about having a danish king, and fearing a war with Sweden.

>but couldn't even get america to join
Isolationist mentalities were too deeply rooted in American culture at that time, they were not eradicated until WWII.

>In addition, most of the exorbitant war indemnities required by the ToV never got actually paid anyway.
They're not that exhorbitant too when you reason with the fact that it was actually modelled on the basis of how Germany had made France pay reparations in 1871 that had almost bankrupted France.
>Between 1919 and 1932, Germany paid less than 21 billion marks in reparations.
>Sally Marks writes, "There are those ... who claim reparations were unpayable. In financial terms, that is untrue ... Of course Germans did not want to pay; nobody ever wants to pay, and Weimar was determined not to do so ... Raising taxes would have provided ample funds ... Weimar could have borrowed from the citizenry, as France did after 1871 [to pay its indemnity to Germany]".[151] Marks writes that Germany could have easily paid the 50 billion marks in reparations, but instead chose to repeatedly default on payments as part of a political strategy of undermining Versailles.[152]

And the most wounding thing from all the treaty was that it didn't deter Germans from believing that they had actually almost won the war, which is why it was so easy to convince them to fight in WWII twenty years later.

> fearing a war with Sweden.
Oh never heard that one.

you seem to forget that Fairhair, our first king, united us in the 870's. But we did write a new constitution in 1814.

we were unironically prepared to go to war with Sweden to get independence and then Sweden gave up without a fight.

>And the most wounding thing from all the treaty was that it didn't deter Germans from believing that they had actually almost won the war, which is why it was so easy to convince them to fight in WWII twenty years later.

The real issue is that they outright won the war in the East, forced Russia to capitulate and cough up its western territories. In the West, they were pushed back to their borders in 1918 but Entente troops never actually entered German territory, so it was quite easy to think they should have won.

And get beaten again like in 1814?

But yeah, that was an interesting time. People like Zeth Höglund writing that if the government tells soldiers to take up arms against brödrafolket, then they should aim their guns at the government instead.

Sure sure.

I also made this screenshot to my own explanation ( :3 ) explaining why it was that Luddendorff lied to the German public and pretended that the German army had been close to winning.

I assume that Norway was hoping for British support if a war broke out, they were strong Anglophiles and had close economic ties to London. Denmark was also pro-British while Sweden were Germanophiles.

sure hope the second world war doesn't break out in 27 years, that would be awful

>Denmark was also pro-British while

Danish butthurt over the Second Schleswig War was still strong in 1914, they were terrified of Germany, but entering the war on either side was suicidal so they had no choice but to remain neutral. Copenhagen did have to bow to some of Germany's demands such as mining the Sound and all of their exports were sent south.

that person in the right can’t be a woman

We first sent a women's swim team in 1920.

Oh, that'a a British flag. I was wondering "How could there be a Macedonian swimmer, it wasn't even a country back then."

Rest In Peace 46 Star Flag!
