Regardless of whether you agree with it, is there really nothing romantic about Communism?

no, its not enough that i should succeed others should fail

I just want to make star trek real

most romantic thing about it is stealing shit from the factory you work in to trade for bread so your kids dont starve

>star trek
>not wanting the Galactic Empire irl

ISHYGDDT

The whole idea of communism is based upon romantic naivete. The belief that humans are selfless by nature. This is why I personally consider Romanticism the waste product of the enlightenment

It's got a pretty cool symbol. That's about it

>talking shit about romanticism
Grow a soul, faggot.

>Grow a soul, faggot.
>WAHHH YOU HAVE NO FEE-FEES!!

>he doesn't get uplifted by art

Breadlines are SO ROMANTIC!

kys

The art of romanticism was good but the fact that it lead to the french revolution ("HON HON HON VE ARE ALL EKVAL XD") and later communism make it shit

>romanticism was responsible for the french revolution
>despite being an artistic movement that drew on medieval times over classical times (politically, feudalism over athenian democracy or the roman republic)
ok

>Jean Jacques Rousseau wasn't responsible for the french revolution

>hurr durr muh different conceptions of human nature
All serious philosophers know that human nature is a spook. If human nature explains greed, it explains altruism too. If it explains violence, it explains peace. Human nature doesn't explain anything, because it explains everything. Why do we fight wars? Human nature, lol. Okay then, why did we build a huge international institution dedicated to preventing wars, giving it immense power of states and vast funding and actually allowing it to do its job? Lmao that's human nature too lelelelel.

It's a spook.

Romantic yes.

Realistic no.

/thread.

The fact of the matter remains that humans are not completely selfless and we don't all care about each other. Which is why it is shit

>The fact of the matter remains that humans are not completely selfless and we don't all care about each other.
Which has nothing to do with romanticism, tbqh.

soldatenlieder >>>> red army choir

basically, no they have nothing

The one thing the soviets did REALLY good was propaganda. There is a HUGE romantic allure to communism and I personally am very intrigued by ALL of their designs. Even the samey blocky apartment blocks are interesting to me.

With all that said tho, fuck communism

nigger ideology

the only romantic thing about communism is the initiation of the revolution. it goes down hill after that.

Never forget Kronstadt

>no poverty
>electrification
>anti imperialism
>freedom
>progress

...

Equality, justice, love, "revolutionary" passion and etc
The same thing that motivated Christianity :)

The only reason edgy teenagers like communists is because they got cool music, a nice symbol, and cool weapons.

No. Unless you count standing in line for hours to see if there is any butter left as romantic.

hahaha le epic XDDD

>Stalin
>saying he's trying something new
Nice meme.

Electrification and poverty reduction were important in socialist/communist states.

The symbol is top notch.

Too bad they fucked it up because Socialism does not work.

Breadlines are actually a good thing

soundcloud.com/dirtypotter/daddys-cummies

Make Natalia as big as a fucking house with cummies. Big ol' fucking double chin, boobs twice the size of her head, birthin' babbies for the revolution.

>Breadlines are actually a good thing
This, it requires hours of standing, and prevents gluttony.

The US would be much less fat and more healthy with breadlines.

No, but there was something romantic about the Soviet Union, in my eyes. But I think solemn, macabre things are romantic sometimes.

Violence and revolution.

But, as summarised here:
>Realistic no.
Everything else about it has no bearing on reality.

Exactly

/thread

>slaving like ants for a cold uncaring machine, with no rewards for effort

yeah user, it's the dream

>it just doesn't werk
Tell that to the millions of Eastern Bloc residents who for the first time had steady jobs, housing, healthcare, and education when socialistic regimes took power.

The effect of the Soviet Union on the west has become a comedic tragedy. The seeds of subversion have grown uncontrollably decades after the death of the USSR. Westerners don't just sympathize with communism, they actively promote it despite every example of its influence causing the collapse of great countries. The climate today would be a KGB agent's wet dream. Bernie Sanders. Black lives matter turns non issues into full blown civil war. Yoga is reaching peak popularity leading to citizens becoming mindless drones. The media is corrupt and not trusted. Schools teach students useless shit like fem lit and ebonics. Citizens have turned their backs on law and order. Workers slowly losing the right to set their own wages to compete for jobs as the minimum wage rises. I don't see anything romantic about communism. I especially don't see anything romantic about what it has done to us.

>le communist conspeeruhsee

>BLM
>Bernie Sanders
