It was really fast, they had a lot of story to move through and they had to cram some jokes in there too. When Greg gets all serious about Branda's threat that's funny, but it could only last for half a second, so the background going dark and looking into the distance is paced like a normal line in a conversation, Steven continues to dialogue without missing a beat. It's weird but it doesn't necessarily ruin the joke.

Great episode. It's funny how Pearl is less of a wet blanket than Garnet nowadays. Pearl, Amy and Steven's adventures are great. Period tends to steal every scene she's in making it difficuilt for a comfy chemistry to develop in larger groups and Lapis is about as fun as a salt water enema.

The problem is it can't really progress until we find out more about PD's death.
Peridot's only grudge with the CGs was them fucking up her plans and what she had read about them in records.
Lapis was able to somewhat forgive them since they DID basically facilitate her being imprisoned, but it was Homeworld that did the imprisoning so there was a spread blame.
Currently, Jasper has NO reason to ever give the CGs an inch based on what we've heard about Rose killing Pink Diamond. There needs to be SOMETHING that could let Jasper even consider tolerating the CGs before she can be redeemed.
