i love doctor who

Did someone delete the /who/ discord or was I removed?

Very funny.

Who /nastalgic/ here?

Real Who fans only then?

only true whovians in this thread

>whovians

Haven't listened to it yet. Heard it's good though, especially since they got Lance Parkin back instead of getting somebody else to adapt it..

I've never seen an episode and I don't really care about it, I just want to make endless sweet love to Jenna Coleman.

are whovianvians allowed?

*dweeks

Hello.

>being triggered by what has been the accepted term for Dr Who fans for 30 something years.

>taking anything anyone says on the internet seriously

anymore like this

You mean like you just did?

I'm afraid that's not possible user because I intend to do just that.

yeah ill bite

im 30 nearly exhausted all the sci fi i can get my hands on

Congratulations on being Doctor Who's biggest fan

>never touched the who
I likely wouldn't have had I not grown up with the classic series.

What was the golden age of /who/?

leak /who/, followed by night /who/

90-04

/who/ didn't exist back then fucko.

do the cats12 rap next

I misread. I thought it said Who, cunty.

leak /who/

Don't think Who existed then either desu.

Hence it being the golden age. Do try and keep up.

I crave death

The golden age of /who/ was unequivocably the moment Night of the Doctor happened. Adventure in Space and Time happened and the fish doctor happened we were all super hype and /who/ had a distinct lack of contrarian bullshit going on

Doctor Who is dead.

>Doctor Who felt like a global phenomenon in 2013
>100 million viewers worldwide
>Fast forward to 2017
>The Doctor Falls was watched by eleven people and two of them were asleep

Where did it all go so wrong?

I think it's just got a bit preachy and heavy handed with the liberal agenda for most people to stomach.

People didnt like the show without a random meme doctor.

Is this the new "RTD's Gay Agenda"?

Matt Smith leaving.

A substantial amount of NewWho was too used to the idea of a youthful looking Doctor, and Capaldi was apparently too oogleh

Yes.

It encompasses and expands on it.

I find it hard to believe people actually think this, I mean politics is rarely the focus of an episode and is just an aside, and the show has always been left leaning. Even if you dislike the politics behind an episode you can still enjoy the plot, characters and setting etc. I didn't agree with The Doctor refusing to kill the monster in Thin Ice and I often don't agree with him thinking that one stupid alien's life is of equal worth to an entire fucking planet, but it doesn't make me drop the show. Bill mentioning she's gay three times was meme'd to the high heavens. I don't care for all the gender shit, but two lines in an episode can be easily ignored. A female Master turned out to be fantastic.

Yeah I can see people not wanting to watch some old fart. My mum is the same.

never work again

...

Don't get me wrong, okay I'm a Tory but I'm a pretty left wing one and I'm also gay myself. Dr Who has always promoted acceptance and diversity but it has reached the point now where it feels like it's being rammed down our throats.

>it's the throat meme again

>I'm also gay myself.
>it feels like it's being rammed down our throats.

It's possible Oxygen could be objectionable, if you're really pro-capitalism for some reason. But then Sun Makers exists and that one literally ends with the exploitive boss getting thrown off a roof.

remember when Lawrence Miles said that he was straight but WHO taught him to try new things and he sucked a big fat cock

No. Sounds plausible though.

based lawrence

>Lawrence Miles
he should hang here
we hate moffs as much

But he's also so lefty that other leftists find him annoying.

That's Sandifer you're thinking of

What is /who/'s verdict on Big Finish's Torchwood series 5?

>lefty
did not know that
I would annoy him then, lol

who are the righty who writers?

torrent?

...

how do you know im not already here?

>did not know that
It seemed apparent from that chapter in Interference where Sarah Jane talks to the news over how Britain commits unspeakable war crimes on a regular basis.

Thankfully I think the only right wing DW writers are Gareth Roberts and Jim Mortimore.

Causal reminder 8th used to kill off his companions and cry about it afterwards.

and the one that made the Monks?

Eh, Gareth might hates muslims, but he's also more queer than a 7-sided die.

Not really. There are many thousands of people on the left and right who believe this.

>commits unspeakable war crimes on a regular basis.
who doesn't

also in Interference
2 iraqi soldiers that got lost inside the TARDIS and never came out, lol

Steven Moffatt?

No, most of the "Britain is evil and kills other countries for money!" guys I've seen are usually radical lefties who think everything is racist or fascist. Like that Jack Graham fellow who works for Phil.

Mortimore's too weird to be pinned down (at least until someone deciphers what "California Broner" is supposed to mean)

>okay I'm a Tory but I'm a pretty left wing one
Yeah because the modern tory party is fucking left wing, we don't have a single right wing party in the country contrary to popular belief among the politically illiterate.

>but it has reached the point now where it feels like it's being rammed down our throats.
Because it is literally propaganda commanded by the ultra left wing metropolitan trendies at the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation.

I actually have a lot of time for Mr. Shabogan desu

It's when a Californian My Little Pony fan gets an erection.

I am always surprised how 11th was globally successful. Personally I feel only hatred towards his era.

posting

>No, most of the "Britain is evil and kills other countries for money!" guys I've seen are usually radical lefties who think everything is racist or fascist.

Whilst being the most racist fascist people around completely obliviously of course.

Why?

But they do do that

It's a bit annoying to have liberals constantly bringing it up as if we don't already fucking know, but many 70s serials were about colonialism and the atrocities Britain committed when it invaded other countries (The Mutants, for example)

>Yeah because the modern tory party is fucking left wing

Is this what right wingers actually believe?

>Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation.

The BBC ultra left wing? Mate, you're the politically illiterate one. Their bias against socialists is so obvious, and their support for the EU was all to appease David Cameron.

Some of his essays are super good (Maximum Utility and the recent stuff picking apart Harry Potter, for instance) and unlike Phil he hasn't gotten in any embarrasing social media feuds that I know of.

what are these weird-ass political party talks doing in /who/

cease this conversation at once

Righties think the BBC is too left-wing

Lefties think the BBC is too right-wing

Could it just be a victim complex thing

Rule of thumb: when the Tories accuse someone of something, it's to distract from the fact they're actually doing that thing themselves

Yeah, but if you tell them that, they'll call you a fascist/cuck/centrist.

Yep. That image is all the proof you need that the modern BBC is for right wing propaganda. Socially liberal, perhaps, but economically right wing and supporters of the Conservative Party.

She has multiple orifices

CENTRISTS GET OUT REE

Makes me glad I don't pay the TV tax.

I just find him more obtuse and prone to off topic rambling than Phil, like that recent piece he did about Jodie Whittaker that doesn't even mention her. eruditorumpress.com/blog/this-post-has-no-title/

Same dude

...

Yeah, I didn't particularly like that one either - seems like he was trying for a coy "I'll talk about this without explicitly talking about it" thing that didn't quite land.

>I am - as far as I’m aware - the only person who detected a metaphor in Prometheus about the fascist impulse immanent within all imperialist Westernism

What an abhorrently arrogant thing to say. Does he truly believe he is the ONLY person in the entire world to have such a reading? Does he believe that every single person in the world is the type to spew their thoughts so loudly over social media that a substantial amount of other people will hear them? What nonsense.

What's the significance of the 4 here? (If it is a 4)

Trotskyist 4th international

Tbh the Beeb should either go commercial or subscription only. Forcing people to buy a TV license is bullshit.
