Conservatives BTFO'd Forever

>Trump to raise minimum wage
>against free trade
>against neocon foreign policy
>end the Reagan conservative movement

The absolute genius in Trump's rise, that Cletus in Alabama has no fucking clue that he is supporting trade and foreign policy positions that are nearly identical to Bernie Sanders. He doesn't really care because "muh wall". Trump has achieved more for progressive economic, trade and foreign policy in the GOP than the far-left fringes of the Democratic party have been able to in their own party for fucking decades.

Meanwhile... Mitt Romney, John McCain, Glenn Beck, Paul Ryan, Bill O'Reilly are all butthurt crying because the conservative movement is dead and progressive trade and foreign policy is winning.

I fucking love it.

Don't forget that he is just as "muh free shit" as Sanders is, if not more. The tax cuts proposed by Trump would lead to larger budget deficits than Sanders' expansive welfare.

We have a strange view of tax cuts here in the US.

Conservative economists were very critical of Reagan's new experiment in using tax cuts as stimulus, because of the deficit repercussions. Reagan's tax cuts unsurprisingly grew the deficit immensely and Reagan ended up tripling our national debt. What is amazing, is that Republicans didn't bat an eye and adopted endless tax cuts as a policy creed. A lot of Americans don't realize that tax cuts, just like increased spending, increases deficits. It's strange because they do at least realize that tax cuts can work as a form of economic stimulus, just like increased spending.

There is also Grover Norquist's "Starve the Beast" strategy et al which was a complete failure.

This is true. Whatever happens don't blame me. I voted for Bernie.

Lmfao Cletus btfo! #bernvictim

He gets a $7B windfall because he plans on removing the estate tax. The estate tax is a fucking retarded tax that steals from the recently deceased of their wealth - wealth that they have already been taxed on. The estate tax is literally a fucking commie law rich hating, if you made a small fortune in your life time and you wanted to share it out with your children after you've paid off your final debts then too fucking bad, the government is going to jew half of it away because fuck you.

But NAFTA was signed into law by Bill Clinton and until 3 months ago Hillary was a cheerleader for the TPP. Most of the Democrat and Republican establishment are economic neo-liberalstimulus (as in proponents of these various "free" trade agreements.

Since when is the imposition of tariffs, a protectionist trade policy, and border security part of the "progressive" agenda?

You are making no sense, OP.

>implying some children deserve to be automatically and others automatically poor just because of who their parents were

>you should be pro rich Republican policies because maybe one day you'll be rich too and they will benefit you then!
kys

>neo-liberalstimulus
*neo-liberals

The Samsung auto-correct is wonky at times.

>Implying you should be able to decide what parents gift to their children after they die
Kill yourself.

Regardless, the obvious win here for progressives is that the average Republican voter has absolutely ZERO loyalty to conservative economic, trade and foreign policy. In fact, many of them will reject it given a chance.

Trump has shown us that we can win with both social conservatives and social progressives, by merely attaching our economic, trade and foreign policy to their trivial social issues. This is a chance for a new era of progressive economic, trade and foreign policy which has effectively infiltrated both the right and the left with rising popularity.

You're supposed to cut spending when you cut taxes. Literally only Americans have ever been retarded enough to cut taxes and increase spending

It's not about becoming rich eventually, it's about the fact that they've already paid taxes for that fucking money ergo it's theirs to do whatever the hell they want to do with it. It shouldn't be funneled away to pay for Jamal's food stamps just because you envy the fact that someone managed to amass an amount of wealth.

The answer to that should be nothing. And according to Sup Forums's eat what you kill bootstraps mentality, shouldn't you agree?

Bernie was useless though, he wouldn't have been able to do ANYTHING he was proposing, the differences between the candidates where the Bernie actually believed he could get his propositions through even though there's no way that would work
Trump had a lot of controversial talking points that also would never work, but he knew he would gain support from those conservatives who see themselves as being alienated, which is also why he never actually had a plan for anything in the primaries and played it like it was a high school class president election
Shillary is just plain full of shit and is blatantly lying to the American public and her supporters and would be the absolute worst thing for the American people being as she only serves herself

> Mitt Romney
> True Conservative

Watch him agree with Ted Kennedy for am hour.

>I won't divide my estate to my offspring because I want it to go to the government to be redistributed as welfare for retards
Please end yourself really. Sup Forums doesn't have this sort of mentality you're talking about, it has a 'nobody should be able to leech off the government in exchange for votes' mentality.

OP this ridiculous analysis only happens when you look at politics on one dimension. Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are not comparable in the slightest.

...

Free trade was first conceptualized by the father of capitalism. Free markets and free trade go hand-in-hand as a rejection of government intervention in transactions between individuals.

Read Adam Smith's 'Wealth of Nations' for a starter on capitalism.

NAFTA started with Reagan, who ignited the free trade movement here in the US along with his new conservative movement.

Ever since Reagan, the anti-free trade movement has lived in the far-left fringes of the Democratic Party.

>still believing democrat = liberal, republican = conservative meme

Bill Clinton was a "Third Way Democrat", that is fiscally conservative paired with socially progressive. I.e. Billy imposed tax cuts, balanced budget, decreased spending, cut entitlements... liberals often say that he "ended welfare", when he took office he famously said, "the era of big government is over" and followed through with entitlement cuts et al.

Well, Reagans justification of tax cuts was that lower taxes would lead to higher tax revenue. Which was, of course, a false assumption. But this Republican rhetoric still remains and was also adopted by Trump.

>Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump are not comparable in the slightest.

Only if you merely care about social issues and nothing else. I understand this is how most Americans approach politics, from a deep passion for social issues.

Myself, and many others who voted for Bernie in the primary and are now voting for Trump could not care less about social issues. Trade, foreign policy and economics are what matters most.

On the issue of trade, Trump and Bernie are aligned. They both oppose free trade and favor higher tariffs, Trump himself favors imposing up to 45% tax on consumer goods. You would need to be absolutely clueless about trade policy to not realize this.

On the issue of foreign policy, Trump and Bernie are much more similar than Bernie/Clinton or Trump/Rubio. They both oppose the aggressive neocon strategies that have dominated the establishment in both parties for decades.

Okay. You leech off your parents instead. Got it.

>After they've/I've died my estate will be divided as a parting gift to my offspring
>leeching
Do you even think before you post?

Yes

Think harder then next time

I didn't have to think that hard. You're mooching off mommy and daddy.

I think that you are you are confusing classical Liberalism with neo-liberal, Chicago school economics.

Free trade for Smith did not require 20,000 page documents to implement, full of competition killing clauses for the benefit of multinational corporations.

Once more, for Smith a country could choose to trade or not to trade; to erect temporary barriers or to dismantle them.

Its important to understand that Adam Smith also saw cases in which tariffs might be beneficial, which he discusses in Part II of Book IV of the Wealth of Nations : 'Of Restraints Upon the Importation from Foreign Countries of Such Goods as Can Be Produced at Home' .

I'm kinda scared if Trump wins.
Call me a cuckservative but i honestly don't think Trump embodies most of the policies of conservatives. I feel if he wins he will end American conservatism and replace it with something worse.

But that being said I still don't want Hillary to win either, might as well just off myself

There is nothing left that is worth conserving. We don't need more so called "conservatives". What have they done for us? At best, they have been a squeaky, ineffective handbrake on the "progressive" juggernaut. They have eithet sat idly as the nation drifts further and further from its roots or made concession after concession to be conciliatory.

We don't need "conservatives" At this point we need reactionaries.

I thought right wingers believed everyone should work for their wealth, not have it handed to them.

I guess it just goes to show there is zero internal consistency between one right wing position and the next.

>muh 'neocons are the true conservatives' meme

An oldie but a goodie

>I think that you are you are confusing classical Liberalism with neo-liberal, Chicago school economics.

They are both shitty "muh free market" ideologies which advance greedy capitalism at the expense of workers. Capitalism is a continuation of feudal lordship over what should be the collective fruits of workers' labor.

>for the benefit of multinational corporations

I'm glad you see the reality.

In 2000, Pat Buchanan (who is very similar to Trump, anti-free trade nativist) was endorsed and supported in this election run by Socialist Party USA presidential candidate Brian Moore, who said that he supported Buchanan because he was against free trade, saying, "He had some progressive positions that I thought would be helpful to the common man."

Again, social issues are trivial. What matters is trade, foreign policy and economics.

>has no idea what free trade is
>sees the word "neocon"
>oh I understand what that one means!

Cletus is trump's base.

He's simply too retarded to understand that he's voting for a democrat.

nevar gonna happen
just empty promisses

So what was the point of this thread again?

What about the dream of the Comintern and the universal brotherhood of the proletariat? Why should you have a good job that pays well when there is a person in the third world that has no job? Doesn't sound like progressive equality to me.

If the far left now wants tariffs, borders, restrictions on foreign labor, protectionism, and endorsed Pat Buchanan it sounds more like the progressives have become paleo-conservatives.

I mean, welcome on board, but there is no way to dress up protectionism, tariffs, nativism, and strict border enforcement as the legacy of "progressivism", socialism, social Democrats, communism, or Marxism.

Congratulations, you have become a paleo-conservative.

The estate tax is an attack on farmers. The rich that the left complains about can get around it easily.

Wow are you just now figuring out that Trump is changing the right wing back to what it was before Neo cons.

pro tip: Neo cons where trotskyist who took over the republican party

Cletus is actually the democrats base..Has been for 80 years.

Your jelly is showing poorfag

And this is why people who say Bernie Supporters like myself would never support Trump are off their fucking rocker.
The smart Berners don't give two fucks about the wall. They care about stopping TPP, raising the min wage, and not throwing the country into countless wars it has no fucking business being in.

In short, MAGA bitches.

>What about the dream of the Comintern and the universal brotherhood of the proletariat?

Free trade has only worsened the condition of workers abroad, who are exploited for their labor by greedy multinational corporations

Protectionism is a public initiative to protect workers by raising tariffs, it's a government intervention in trade that is explicitly "worker first".

>no way to dress up protectionism, tariffs, as the legacy of "progressivism"

Higher taxes, government restrictions to "muh free markets" and a leash on corporate greed, protection for workers.

Look, I'm not going to argue with you about semantics. We both want the same thing here, to end the cycle of greed created by multinational corporations at the expense of the exploited proletariat.

It might as well be called the Agribusiness Eminent Domain Tax

Huge, immortal corporations get to acquire farms on the cheap when the inheritance tax effectively puts the family farm out of business.

>the "free trade made Britain Great" meme
Unless you point out that Wapole's protectionist policies first built up Great Britain's industrial sector, and made them a manufacturing power to rival the continent, so that they could then afford to switch to free trade policies, you've not got the whole picture, and you are misleading people. The way you talk, Uganda could adopt a free trade policy tomorrow and instantly become a super power. It doesn't work that way. All the major players got big through protectionism first. Hell, just look at the world's #1 economy, China. They have the most protectionist policies in the world, and it hasn't dented their meteoric rise to the top of the heap in the least.

>Top 2/3rd of Obamas votes came exclusively from ethnics, jews, or unwed women

Trump isn't restricting markets though you fucking autist, he's merely raising tariffs on foreign goods and eliminating tax loopholes for offshoring business. The markets will still be very free and you will still see rich companies and wall street so take your fucking commie shit somewhere else.

So, Trump shares many of the same views as Pat Buchanan and has proposed policies similar to those of Buchanan. Why aren't you supporting Trump?

>Trump isn't restricting markets
>he's merely raising tariffs

Fucking kek.

A 45% tax on consumer goods is a restriction you clueless idiot. It is a government intervention of your "muh free market", and an increase in tax for domestic consumers.

Yes OP, the neocons are getting blown the fuck out. But nobody here is sad about it.

Fuck the establishment.

He said further up in the thread that he is. This thread is just him bragging that Old Right policies are actually progressive.

Sorry, ignore my question.

>free trade
>implying that a country that chooses to charge fees to sell goods to its citizens isn't that countries choice in the free market isn't free trade
>but implying that thousand page legislature designed to make producers more powerful than the consumer is free trade

>I fucking love it.
The farmers/Real Don not so much.
I'm luvin' it too!

And your solution is a group of individuals that neither the parent nor child know, forcing money from them via threat of violence, most likely for their own benefit, either for "dem votes", or, pocketing it themselves.

>Why aren't you supporting Trump?

I am supporting Trump.

Was that somehow not readily apparent from my original post?

There are plenty of other Bernie supporters who back Trump because we care more about stopping free trade and neocon foreign policy than trivial social issues. The same reason why the Socialist Party endorsed Pat Buchanan in 2000... we align on trade and foreign policy which are some of the most important issues that many Americans seem to completely ignore.

Additionally, I want to advance this rising worker populism on the right. We need to free workers in the Midwest and South from their servitude to big money corporate interests and end the alliance of social conservatism paired with shitty free market policies. This is only the beginning.

Even if it's like this then it is like:
choice between common cold (Trump) and AIDS(Hillary)

no, YOU are freeloading.
the rich have to aqcuire money first before it can be handed to anyone, why should it be given to anyone BUT their offspring. their family line did the work for it, so the SHOULD reap the benefits, don't blame them complain at your own parents or their parents or further above for not giving you the same

Correction, neocons BTFO forever

>The absolute genius in Trump's rise, that Cletus in Alabama has no fucking clue that he is supporting trade and foreign policy positions that are nearly identical to Bernie Sanders

Except that he's said it himself at rallies.

Try again.

>still has no idea what free trade is
>unironically believes that tariffs are "free trade"
>unaware that tariffs are the opposite of free trade
>unaware that free trade literally means ending tariffs

You have the entire world of information at your fingertips, but somehow you couldn't google "what is free trade" before replying.

>end the Reagan conservative movement

A tax isn't a restriction retard and it won't eliminate imports, just reduce them.

I'd say we're going back to Nixon era conservatism. Slightly more progressive but not full on retard leftist

The tariff is the most popular form of trade restriction. Are you mentally challenged?

A tariff (consumption tax) is by definition, a government-imposed restriction.

Google "trade restrictions", experience the world of information readily available to you, then come back and apologize to me for you fucking idiotic your reply was.

>>unaware that tariffs are the opposite of free trade

unaware that your largest competitor heavily uses tariffs and currency manipulation to outcompete you, and "muh free trade" is just going to lead to you falling on your own sword and China pissing on your lifeless corpse

I'm very opposed to free trade, if that wasn't readily apparent ITT.

Nice try, Don Quixote.

It's not that they do or don't deserve it, it just happens. In life you gotta play the cards you're dealt. At the end of the day, your life is just breath, eat, sleep, die. Unfortunately, some of us get really shitty hands and are born in a third world shit hole, but those of us born in places like the great USofA have the opportunity to move up in society if we work our tails off. We have the opportunity to live very comfortably for less than a lifetimes worth of work. And I'm glad I was born here and have this opportunity. But with that comes those kids raised in opulence, and that's something you have to accept if you want to live here. They just have luck of the draw. If you don't like it move to Europe.
