IT SURE IS!

How many days in a row are we gonna do this

THE HOLLYWOOD ACTOR WITH SOME PRETTY BAD ACTING HERE

(11/10 commentary, and Ben's face throughout is priceless)

It was poker kino. It isn't some brilliant masterpiece as a movie in general, but it most certainly is the best poker movie there is and ever will be.

(Poker movies are comparable to video-game adaptations in that they are notoriously shit)

>not Casino Royale

agree 100%

>Comparable to video-game adaptations
This is... extremely accurate

>not In Time

>"I knew i was going to win"

The poker in that was straight-up nonsensical trash.

pls explain

Just completely unrealistic in so many ways that I won't even begin to try and list and explain them all here.

are there any hot poker players with big tits?

do any of them get BLACKED?

>Can't even name one thing using a couple of words

Idiot.

Jennifer Tilly

she was so trashy hot in Bride of Chucky.

maverick is better

It wasn't poker at all, it was Pinocle.

Name just a couple. I'm honestly curious.

How is K9 still a 1% chance here? What cards could save it here?

Ok, I'll name the most obvious: the chance that in one hand so many people had such high ranking hands is 1 in a billion. With a "b".

An average professional poker player who has played his whole life will very likely die without ever being in such an unlikely scenario without cheating going on.

running Kings

Also the idea that they would let him, a complete fish, literally gamble with the agency's money in such a high-stakes game is completely retarded.

running kings

Unlikely things happen in movies, that's why people pay money to see them, to escape their mundane reality for 2 hours or so.

Your point is completely worthless.

Read my post yesterday? :^)

Oh right.
In that case why are A8 and A2 0%? Wouldn't running aces also do it for them?

it would be a split so neither of them can win

Someone must have folded an A preflop.

Runner runner K

negative

No, you don't understand: it isn't for a poker movie. This situation is not exciting or interesting to a poker player. The excitements are in amazing laydowns, pattern recognition reads (in movies usually physical reads which suck), and smart plays. A royal flush winning from a straight flush is just dumb. There is no skill involved, nothing to get excited about. You know the good guy is going to win so he'll have a better hand. It's typical shitty movie poker.

>the best poker player in the service
>some fish

That means literally nothing in a nosebleed stakes game.

Another worthless point. James Bond always wins at the end of every Bond movie, and the same goes for just about any movie ever. Normal people can immerse themselves into a movie and experience the tension. It's a common trait of autism to lack the capacity to see the fun in things and instead focus on how something is unrealistic, etc. I don't even understand why you are on this board.

>be 47
>get called kid

>i have a straight
>i have a flush
>i have a full house
>i have a straight flush
>i have a royal straight flush gotcha

>tension

>James Bond always wins
Except that time when his wife was dead

Name a better ending scenario for the movie, something that would have made the scene better and more exciting.

It's the final scene, it's all in, it's millions of dollars. For the average person, that's a pretty exciting moment, and you're not exactly focusing on the nuances at that point, but rather the fate of either Bond or Le Chiffre. What will Chiffre do if he loses? How will he react? What if Bond loses -- what options are left at that point?

If you analyze the nuance of the scene, I.E that the hands are so over the top, then you're reducing the implications of the scene.

It's not just a poker movie, it's a movie where poker is a large theme, and it's integrated pretty effectively considering it's meant for mass distribution. Millions of people probably got interested in poker after watching the movie, and that includes myself.

It means a lot when he is the best at bluffing in a room full of spies
