shin

Shin looks fucking terrible

>$15 million
wuuuuuuuuuut

is this real?

Shin looks worse but at least they didn't cocktease his appearances.
I mean holy shit. All you had to do was put an entire Kaiju fight scene in it, Legenday.

...

Shin has the more creative design but it looks like shit unfortunately

The problem with Godzilla 2014 wasn't Godzilla - it was the fact that he got so little screentime. Those 12 minutes he was on were fucking amazing, but 1+ hour wait was just painful.

Right did it better as a monster
Left did it better as a Godzilla

>12 minutes
More like ten minutes and half of that was teasing.

Shin's only flaw are his deformed T-Rex arms

The head is much worse, looks anorexic af

These people are still around

...

Why is Godzilla '14 fat? Fucking Americans introduced him to McDonald's or something?

...

That's exactly what makes it better

A giant lizard destroying stuff gets boring fast

Why are they only now running? You could see Shin coming from miles away.

Shin Godzilla more like Thigh godzilla lmao

no it does not. thats literally the best shit ever.

...

>He didn't want to see godzilla dunking buildings on the MUTOs
Come on.

>PERSECUTION OF THE MASSES starts playing

Shin Godzilla looks so wimpy next to Legendary Godzila, one has been hitting the gym while the other has been devouring krabby patties

Jesus christ, I don't understand how you faggots can even defend this shit....?

Right. They're both pretty good flicks tho, for their genre

uh because it's fucking cool?

The one on the right, obviously. Shin is a snoreathon with a dreadful Godzilla they ran out of money to have do anything.

No, we want nothing but that, 90 minutes solid of devastation and epic music. It's the respectability obsession of Godzilla directors since Honda that means we have to endure hours of procedural arseache every time.

...

This was my exact reaction when I first saw Amy Schumer's arms.

left, better atmosphere. right looks too monotonous
imagine if they had one hunnid sixty million

...

Godzilla is the only film property that would probably be best directed by someone on the autism spectrum. We want a smashfest, and we never get it. We don't need pompous political garbage, we don't need really carefully written characterisation, we just want about 90 minutes of model buildings getting destroyed in various combinations and compositions while the music goes BAMBAMBAMBAM!!

Godzilla should be directed by someone who stims watching Destroy All Monsters.

Shin looks like he has retard strength, so he is more frightening

The arms are so small on Shin that it just looks like a deformity

This, it's like a T-Rex in a mumu.

2014 is cooler
shin one is scarier
both are fine tbqh

I wish I could do this to ol' dumpfy and his nazi supporters

The left looks better because animatronics.

Shin Goji was way better because Godzilla was the focus, not some random soldier like in Legendary.

Also, Shin Goji is the better Godzilla because he looks like a fucking abomination, which is the point. It's creepy and unsettling, especially since you see it evolve in the same movie.

Legendary Godzilla is suited more for "action" type things, while Shin is more for tone setting and plot.

The next Godzilla movie should be directed by Hitoshi Matsumoto, who showed more understanding of the genre in Big Man Japan than Anno will ever possess.

Godzilla is meant to be an awesome lizard, not an abomination.

>not an abomination
It honestly just depends on the movie. Shin is more in the spirit of how the franchise started and there's nothing wrong with that.

>The Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla finished with just under $30 million in Japan and its worldwide take of more than $500 million was a major incentive for Toho to revive its best-known franchise.

>In Japan Shin Godzilla reached ¥5.3 billion (US$51.63 million) a month after its release.
couldn't even double gaijin godzilla, shamefur dispray

The franchise started with an awesome lizard, retard

I personally think 2014 won the roar contest.

This.

Same case with yanks defending their White heritage against mulatto yanks.

What are you talking about? Godzilla 2014 did meh business. Shin Godzilla was major success.

There's a difference between scary and gross.

shin has little baby arms

Worldwide, bitch. Worldwide box-office is why you make special effects movies. If you don't matter worldwide, it's not happening, and if Japanese cinema has become so insular that they can't even interest the outside world with fucking GODZILLA, something's badly wrong.

what's up with those plastic eyeballs?

This.

Godzilla fans are disgusting plebs.

Shin Godzilla looked shit at the start but the effects looked so much better at his final form. There was some weird claymation effect going on that really made him creepy. American one just looked 100% fake and boring

are you seriously comparing a foreign production with an in house one that got publicity out the ass there and had Anno? gaijin godzilla did better than pacific rim and transformers in Japan

No longer being a rich enough nation to support a film industry, I think it's called.

People bitched about 2014 but Godzilla had the exact same amount of screentime as hes always had. Godzillas always been about cockteasing him until the last 30 mins of destruction porn. Plus theyre actually doing worldbuilding with the King Kong story and making a cool franchise out of it

>ITT: Weebs with "Tokyo, Japan" as their location Facebook although they've lived in their parents' houses all their lives pretend that Shin Godzilla wasn't a failure because it's Japanese.

What's your point? Foreign productions make great money all of the time in Japan. Godzilla 2014 simply did underwhelming business. Barely any better than the Millennium films.

>*on Facebook

>that shin roar

lmao what a fucking wimp

can you not read? i just told you it beat other foreign blockbusters, it did fine for a small market like the japanese

That was literally what happened in my theater

>People bitched about 2014 but Godzilla had the exact same amount of screentime as hes always had.
Wrong. Stop repeating this lie. 2014 actually has one of the shorter amounts of screen time for Godzilla in one of the longest Godzilla movies. By thirty minutes. Godzilla in Shin Godzilla had almost twice the amount of screen time.

Watch, the new Godzilla sequel is gonna have so much Godzilla + other kaijus it's going to be a joke. People are gonna eat that shit up, though.

Most godzilla movies aren't 2 hours long

I have the Japanese roar imprinted in me since I watched so many of those movies when I was a kid. But legendary Godzilla sounds like a true Apex predator. Not even close really.

>There will never be a movie where the Gojira meets Godzilla

this

I think Shin should let Legendary take the selfie

Yeah, Shin felt like a jap wankfest. I'm surprised a giant robot wasn't summoned by the Japanese government to fight Godzilla.

>Legendary wants to make their own Kaiju universe
>Kong hints at Godzilla
>They said they want to bring Godzilla to Pacific Rim
>Godzilla vs. Kong
>Godzilla vs. Gipsy Danger
>Kong vs. Gipsy Danger
>Godzilla vs. Kong vs. Gipsy Danger in a mexican standoff fight
>Godzilla vs. Kong vs. Gipsy Danger in a mexican standoff fight, then later unite to stop a new MUTO/Kaiju uprising
Which one should exist?

Toho hasn't expanded into the foreign market yet. They're focused primarily on a domestic audience. They didn't spend the GDP of small country in production and marketing. And Shin Godzilla was a very Japanese film.

Gipsey Danger was destroyed wasn't it

They made a new one for the next movie.

I'd love Godzilla 2014 if they didn't pick the most generic monster design

Did anyone else think the MUTOs were really lame?
Sure an EMP is scary to us but how does it threaten godzilla? The next enemy kaiju had better have a breath weapon.

>They're focused primarily on a domestic audience.

That's not good enough though, is it? It's Godzilla. If they can't afford to make a real movie of Japanese cinema's one proven international draw - when the money it just made in an American version is why they did a new one - why bother making a new film at all?

The rainy scenes in 2014 were ultra comfy

Ghidorah is showing up in the next one, along with Rodan and Mothra

>EMP is scary to us but how does it threaten godzilla
The EMP was MUTOs natural defence against Godzilla's species. It nerf the shit out of the atomic powers

>It nerf the shit out of the atomic powers
But that never happened in the movie

>The guy who wrote X-Men Apocalypse is directing
the Godzilla sequel
>Adam Wingard is directing Godzilla vs. Kong
Is there any hope they turn out good?

I guess Godzilla's atomic breath was electromagnetic radiation then

EMP can't save you from getting tail slapped into oblivion.

It happened. Why do you think Godzilla ended up so tired after the atomic breath?

It looks fucking terrible

>all monsters we've seen before
Well I suppose it's for the best. Universal can't make good antagonist monsters. The skull crawlers look like shit.

Doesn't Godzilla always get tired after using his breath so many times? Where was it even mentioned in the film that the EMP effects Godzilla?

That's not why it happened at all. The director stated they wanted the atomic breath to be a finishing move rather than something Goji can spam. He was tired because it drained his energy.
Am I being batied?

They did look kinda freaky though. That scene where the guy's alone in the forest got me like a truck.

>Where was it even mentioned in the film that the EMP effects Godzilla?
It was a plot point in the original scrip

Should of kept this instead of the Mutos

>original script
>was dropped in the finished product
Okay then

>implying the skull crawler vs Kong fight was not kino as fuck
youtube.com/watch?v=cmZXJsklxSA

They better give the big guy actual screen time in the next one, that entire movie was such a buzzkill.

And it was cut completely so it didn't happen.

Shin is cuter.

His movie also had more substance to it.
