I recently read X-Men: Noir, Luke Cage: Noir, and Spider-Man: Noir & Eyes Without A Face

Lets discuss Marvel Noir.

Nobody?

I only read Spider-man Noir and I liked it. Good take on the character how are the others?

X-Men: Noir is kind of bizarre. It replaces the concept of Mutants as a new species biologically with the concept of Mutants as a new "evolutionary step" psychologically, in that the X-Men are sociopaths trained in certain criminal skills.

Cyclops, for example, has a missing eye and is a crack shot, Jean Grey is a manipulator, Iceman has a knife, Beast is still smart and strong, Rogue is adept at "adapting" personalities.

Magneto is a police officer with an inner circle called the Brotherhood, and helps spin a narrative against the X-Men.

Its kind of bizarre though. And Wolverine seems super lame because he's just a chump pushover who uses some knives.

Luke Cage: Noir was genuinely pretty good and actually plays with the bulletproof concept in an interesting way, but at the same time its confusing because twice he bends a metal door despite certain details revealed near the end. It has a touching ending though, very Dark Knight esque.

Marvel Noir was a cool idea that mostly sucked in execution. Doing Punisher, and Daredevil Noir missed the whole point. Wolverine was kinda okay, but uneven. Spider-man was great. Luke Cage was genuinely good. X-men Noir was just fucking weird with little merit to it. Deadpool wasn't good at all. Weapon X wasn't good, iirc.

>Punisher
Yeah Punisher: Noir lost me when he shot the innocent girl and carried on like nothing happened. And also the fact that he named himself after a radio show was odd.

Him going after Hitler at the end was the cherry on top of the "missing the point" sundae.

I liked both X-Men Noir series.

X-memes Noir was fairly dissapointing.

Iron Man I think I enjoyed most.

I can't wait to see nothing become of this

Iron Man: Noir isnt even Noir, its Pulp. Its misnamed.

Yeah, that's a good point.

>Cyclops, for example, has a missing eye and is a crack shot, Jean Grey is a manipulator, Iceman has a knife, Beast is still smart and strong, Rogue is adept at "adapting" personalities.
>Iceman has a knife
>Iceman
>has
>a
>knife
I have no idea why that part is hilarious to me.

>Spider-Bat

The one thing i universally enjoyed about them is due to the elseworlds nature of it, the writers really went all out when it came to redefining characters and not being afraid to kill people.

Oh my god so many people died in X-Men: Noir.

After reading Spider-Man: Noir 1 and 2, i have to ask, Shattered Dimensions was advertised as being in continuity to the 4 universes, yet its totally incongruent to the events of the books, what the fuck?

Luke Cage and Spider-Man are both really good.

Too bad the rest of them suck.

I kind of like the twist that X-Men in Noir were non-powered and the story centered on the Golden Age Angel.

Yeah he was the best part of that book. Hell i'd follow a book on him.

They'll probably say it's because Punisher Noir is Frank Castle Jr. instead of Sr.

how was Daredevil and the Punisher I avoided them because well I thought it was you know redundant with them.

Punisher was meh.

Its Punisher killing Barracuda and Jigsaw because muh daddy, then killing Russian. In the process he murders an innocent woman and multiple innocent zoo animals, then gives up and presumably enlists in the army for World War Two.

Spiderman Noire was pretty cool. Luke Cage noir was fucking good. Punisher felt like a normal Punisher story. I found cool how in Deadpool Pulp they play the personalities.
Iron Man Noir wasn't a noir but it was cool since it was a homage to the old adventures stories.

My guess is its a play on that famous mob hitman who was nicked-named "The Iceman" because he used an icepick.

They made a movie about him starring Michael Shannon and Chris Evans that no one watched.

>Chris Evans in a movie called The Iceman
>Previously played the Human Torch
>Would later become a Capsicle

Pottery in motion

>in the far future he will end up playing Nick Fury

The Ice Torch of Liberty

And his nickname in The Iceman was "Mr. Freezy" because he was a hitman who stored his bodies in an ice-cream truck.

It rhymes

Someone got luke cage noir? Seems the best of them according to comments in this thread.

>Spider-Man: Noir
Best. Spider-Man. Ever.

He also starred in a film called Snowpiercer

He also was in Scott Pilgrim, even though it's not a play on ice or capsicle.... as well as being a kinda mutant/inhuman type dude in Push, and being in the Losers - and not taking into account voice work.

Just read spider-man noir, and it's pretty nice. Kinda have a feeling of batman begins, and an hero who don't want to kill anyomre (but did it once) is a great way to do his pacifism.

All I remember is that:
Spider-man Noire was great, I hated Eyes Without a Face because it just tore down all the good stuff about Noire that made it feel unique to just shallowly mimic 616 like a lot of elseworlds do.

X-men Noire's biggest problem was that it had too many characters for a Noire story, which caused it to falter since none of them were well developed and Noire style stories live or die based on their characterizations.

Luke Cage Noire didn't have a mystery till it was literally forced into being, but it was okay.

Daredevil Noire was pretty good, although to be fair, Daredevil rarely ventures outside of Noire territory or at least good Daredevil doesn't

Iron Man Noire was a pulp fiction story, it wasn't particularly good.

I really like Spider-man noir's costume design.

But as far as stotry telling goes Luke Cage Noir was probably the best.

There's also Felicia taking a sample of Noir's blood in Spider-Verse.

And didn't Mysterio get away?
