Call me a retard, but I've never understood what the supposed positives of this mass immigration policy were ever supposed to be.
So British people were unwilling to take up low paying working class jobs. Does farming all those jobs to a horde of foreigners who are willing to do them for the benefit of living in our country really help in the long run? It only leads to a large number of disenfranchised Brits who are unable to get on the job ladder and resent all the dark skinned people they see around them.
Surely the better and admittedly more difficult tactic is to put effort into convincing the working class that these unappealing low paying jobs are worth taking up for the good of the country. Forcing people to be less aspirational is pretty cruel, and won't be easy, but surely isn't the OTT immigration tactic like committing national sabotage? How did they not forsee this? What was the positive outcome for them in the long term?
