Remember the following: >Patricians occasionally read these generals and have posted here before. >Patricians may pretend to be normal users asking for recommendations and when you recommend something, they laugh at you for your plebian taste >This is a thread for patrician purposes only don't offer or expect frivolous discussion.
>without ever having faith No. You need to grasp the key concepts of faith to truly understand the spiritual depth of some films. Wrong Wrong again, you just need some understanding of cinematography.

The real thing that is essential is to have been in love

The answer is clearly no, everyone can critique what they like, but not all of them will have the same level of quality. Why can't someone who read literature on films and someone who understands what makes a film good critique it as well as someone who makes them? It's like saying you can't critique video games if you don't make them, it's just retarded.

GOTG 2 was pretty good, gets kinda dull after the first 90 mins cause the action is boring but it's def the best capeshit since... the original GOTG which was the last Marvel movie I liked. Rooker makes the movie.

anyone here watched A Man Vanishes by Imamura? i wasn't quite sure what to make of it, it was interesting and some of the questions it raised surrounding the accuracys of documentaries was pretty good, but i dunno, something felt lacking, it felt both indulgent but also like there wasn't enough

Dear everyone who posts in these threads.
>You are a piece of shit whose attempts to intrude on an individual's personal reality as an authority on subjective matters without having the insight to warrant it are merely for your own ego gratification. What's so appalling is that some idiots are dumb enough to allow it. >You're a hypocrite whose contribution spurs metadiscussion and shitposting but condemns both. Likely, you reconcile this with some otherwise untenable delusions about providing a necessary service but only for your desperation for gratification. >You're a fucking loser who doesn't understand pronouns. >You know nothing of film, ignorance evinced by your selections for Letterboxd favorites and even posting in these threads in the first place, preferring repetitive anodyne discussion bordering on masturbation over occasional insight and depth. Those posturing gits are as desperate and fragile as you.
It's fucking galling when some unbelievable cretin thinks himself able to comprehend and appraise his superior.
Kill yourselves.

Interesting episode of TV Guidance Counsellor with Stephen Bissette talking about watching sci-fi and horror movies on tv in the 60s and how emphemeral tv was and noticing cuts in the films. Recommended.
