yes, would have a threesome

this would be a good ship

One day I'll find someone to do the surgery.

I disagree.

mah nigga

Well yeah obviously not in that universe, Barbie/Ken OTP

>One of these is still available to buy from toy stores across the country. The other can only be purchased from specialists. Can you guess which one?

How bout you ladies get with a real action figure?

youtube.com/watch?v=P4HLBfTcAUg

I have him somewhere

> He-man
> Unrealistic

Now is time for cake!

I just came here to say He-Man's calves are super hot.

you go girl.

Sorry, the only IPs Mattel cares about are Barbie, Hot Wheels, and DC Comics. And He-Man for nostalgiafagging.

Street Sharks, Extreme Dinosaurs, and Mighty Max are dead to them because they don't appeal to 80sfags.

Ya know, with a better name and some character renaming, Extreme Dinosaurs would probably do really well today.

It would make more sense to compare He-Man to She-Ra as it would show what the same creators think of men vs woman.

But who cares, She-Ra and He-man thread. She-Ra's mount was best.

But he-man was voiced by a lesbian so he's a LGBT figure, not a manliness icon.

Honestly you have a point, I almost always see He-Man being made fun of, not held up as an icon like Barbie.

You can't look like He-Man unless you're on gear.

Nope, no mount beats Battle Cat! He is not just a mount but one hell of a beast in battle!

Please tell me that's not an edit.

To be fair, He-Man is secretly a scrawny 90 lb weakling in a pink tunic, thereby making him a "male power fantasy"...

...the question is, would an IP about a frumpy/nerdy girl who magically transforms into a statuesque full grown superheroine be held up as a powerful metaphor for young girls to learn that inside each of them is a strong, capable woman? Or would it be accused of being patriarchy propaganda because it tells girls that they aren't "truly" beautiful unless they change their appearance?

Man, thinking about this, I kinda understand why Mattel made Princess Adora and She-Ra look friggin' identical - because they knew full well the minefield they'd be walking into otherwise.

I'm sorry but you cannot beat multicolored unicorn pegasus (that isn't a giant coward either). Sure he sounds like a chain-smoker, but he is still majestic.

When I was very young, the sight of Adora's thighs did strange things to me.

>he-man was voiced by a lesbian

the scale seems way off, wasn't He-Man like 4 inches while Barbie is like, 8?

Majestic yes. But if i had to go in battle, surely i would prefer a heavily armored feline to have my back, from a horse.

>I kinda understand why Mattel made Princess Adora and She-Ra look friggin' identical
Er, yes. It was for the same reason their He-Man and Prince Adam toys were identical.

>wasn't He-Man like 4 inches while Barbie is like, 8
If you know what I mean

In that epsiode, He-Man is actually a toy. Raquelle just got shrinked.

Also Skeletor > He-Man.

>Prince Adam
>scrawny 90 lb weakling
I mean he's no Punch Rockgroin but he'd at least be collecting his fair share of tips at an Eternian Chippendale's

>would an IP about a frumpy/nerdy girl who magically transforms into a statuesque full grown superheroine

I've been toying with such an idea.

>To be fair, He-Man is secretly a scrawny 90 lb weakling in a pink tunic
not in the 80s

I can't remember but can Battle Cat fly? This is important.

Do it.
If you make her full nerdy give her some Toku influences too.

If I'm remembering correctly, and early concept of the cartoon was going to have Prince Adam be smaller than He-Man.

They didn't go through with this though, most likely because the cartoon had an animation budget of 23 cents.

have you ever heard of Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld?

He man

Nope, but who cares. Can Swift wing, tear your enemies to shreds? For escape from a battle flying is good, for win a battle the second is certainly better.

Battle Cat Rules!!!

>Also Skeletor > He-Man.

This guy gets it.

He could probably impale someone with that horn. That'd not be allowed on a kids show though.

Is Vin secretly /our/ guy?

And then he would be useless. But Battle Cat can use his claws and teeth over and over again!

But he's not nearly as pretty.

War and battle are not pretty. For winning them, needs to be effecient. Battle Cat is built for doing serious damage to the enemy. And certainly helps ony with his appearance to intimidate them. He is a living war machine!

Toys and the mini-comics that came with them preceded the cartoon, however.

Didn't the cartoon come up with Prince Adam though?

I could've sworn he didn't exist at first.

Looked it up, and apparently DC comics introduced the concept.

I was nearly there . . . Adam first appeared in the DC comic, and subsequently in the Filmation cartoon.

He's fa/tg/uy more, I think.

Prince Adam, appeared in the first DC comic book series.

He was completely different back then from the Filmation version. He was a bar brawler, a warrior prince, who has already super human strength. I believe that Mattel tried to bridge the two origins of He-Man in that version, the barbarian one and the prince.

Wait, who is this goddess that He-Man refers to? This isn't the first time I see a He-Man comic referencing a goddess, but I don't remember any goddess from the cartoon. Is it just another way of referring to the Sorceress?

he-man.wikia.com/wiki/Goddess

The Goddess was the pre-Sorceress entity who in the mini comics, chose a tribal barbarian named He-Man, as her champion after she saved her. She was her, that gave him the weapons to fight the forces of darkness across Eternia. She was looking like a green skinned woman with a cobra outfit and staff.

Later when the Filmation cartoon introduced the Sorceress with the falcon/Zoar outfit, the cobra armor remained as part of Teela's action figure, who she was referred as the Warrior Goddess. In the mini comics though the cobra armor appearance continued to be the Sorceress's look, while Teela didn't have it.

I'd let her handle my snake staff if you know what I mean.

I miss that show.

IIIIIIIIII

There's more to the world than war, Swift Wing is also a mount for times of peace.

The Goddess's concept was abbandoned in the Filmation cartoon, and returned 30 years later with the new DC comic book series, becoming the look of Teela as the Sorceress, when she replaced her mother. This way the full circle was completed.

Did she and HeMan ever get to finally get together?

Cause that's literally 30 years of will they won't they.

Where's a good place to start reading the comics?

Never cared about him. I watched the Conan The Barbarian movie and that was good for me.

POTTERY
O R
T E
T T
E T
R O
YRETTOP

Yup.

She and Adam got married at the end.

Happy Birthday, He-Man: the subtle homo-erotic undertones of your classic cartoon made me question much of the constructed nature of masculinity as a child.

Here's to many more happy years!

Personally i prefered the alien landscapes, the craziness, of the Masters of the Universe!

It isn't even a good Conan story.

Vin's not very secretive about being nerdy. Dude has a lot of love for DnD, and loves video games enough that he started a studio. The Chronicles of Riddick games were as good as they were because of his involvement. He's even PC master race.

I never understood how no one got that Adam and He-Man were the same.

How many beefchunks in page boy hair cuts are running around Eternia?

(Though, to be fair, even the fucking dentist is Ripped.)

>He's the leader of the street sharks you know him well

I wish I was her mount.

Back then it was because of Filmation's low animation budget, that they looked exactly the same. They would not supposed to, in the beginning. The original plan was that Adam should be at his late teens, and He-Man looking at his middle 20's and much more robust. This idea was materialized 20 years later in the 200X cartoon in which Adam was a teenager. Then later in the new comics the secret identity was abbandoned (never made sense anyway, since Adam's family as the rulers, would be targets anyway, and not only because of He-Man). In the crossover with DC when He-Man thought that he have killed Superman, he turned to Adam and surrendered hiself at JL, in front of anyone. Here you can also see the difference in size between Adam and He-Man.

>Sup Forums can't read
being like He-Man wouldn't be unhealthy

I don't recall Amethyst being full on statuesque Bombshell.

She can't even compare with the true goddess!

Real question here is...why girls have all the cool car toys?

We all know, chicks dig cool cars, but for god's sake, give the boys a car where they can fit their action here inside of it, instead of pretending it with hot wheels models.

Not asking much! Not even with the all Fury Road boom we had cool car toys. What the fuck.

Skeletor is one of the best fictional villains ever created. Especially his live action version, interpretated by an amazing Frank Langella, put on shame any of the MCU villains!

youtube.com/watch?v=VxRw5_3OFgc

Frank Langella's favorite role is Skelator.

He loved it. He enjoyed it.

he basically treated it like it was Hamlet and Eggs.

not an edit she and barbie shrink and end up in a dollhouse with He-man inside, not enough gts content of her

Indeed!

For me this was the best entrance of a villain, in any movie, ever!

youtube.com/watch?v=elf0zvBMjUs

NEKOSAN IS NUMBAH 1!!!!!

>LOL WOMYN ARE SO INSECURE GAIZ XD

Kill urself shitlord

"Skeletor: I am not in a giving vein this day."

youtube.com/watch?v=CtAS1FeA7-c

Except they are

>WOMYN ARE SO INSECURE GAIZ XD
A demonstratable fact

...

You know, baring all the actual set pieces, Masters of the Universe is probably the best Live Action New Gods movie we'll ever get.

>dresses like a man
>looks masculine
nigga is u serious

It is.

If i remember well the director had the New Gods in mind, since he was a great fan of the comic.

When a couple of years ago, Keith Giffen did the art foir the Hordak's Origin one shot, he did a little homage to this particular link.

That's not comparing She-Ra to He-man at all!

>if there are two problems then there isn't a problem
I hope you don't work for police dispatch.

Not exactly...

>...the question is, would an IP about a frumpy/nerdy girl who magically transforms into a statuesque full grown superheroine be held up as a powerful metaphor for young girls to learn that inside each of them is a strong, capable woman?
Cap 2099?

>She's dressed even sluttier
Truly the degeneration of the youth morality is on display.

>Amethyst hasn't happened yet

There was a DC/He-Man crossover? Crazy. Can anyone dump it?
