how soon is too soon

You couldn't get an internship prior to graduating?

Why haven't you left home and why haven't you applied for any jobs?

What would you have done differently?

STEMfags are delusional FACT your degree is useless FACT you can't call yourself red pilled if you studied computer science FACT if you didn't do a trade you're a little baby manchild.

Also,
boxers or briefs?

>100% Chance you dindu nuffin through out uni.
>100% Chance you did as little as possible to pass
>100% Chance you didn't try hard to get internships or work experience
>100% Chance you are a lazy fuck who bought into the "You can get a job just by having a degree" meme.

You deserve to work at starbucks hipster faggot

Goddammit OP, I'm also in chem e, going into senior year. I got forced out of my only internship this summer (skills mismatch). Tell me everything is going to be alright.

Are you still looking for work.

why don't you have your own business?

2soon4me

>didn't try hard to get internships
Shut the fuck up faggot. This isn't a meme degree like law or cs. You can't just get an internship with mom and pop companies. Chem e's are usually only hired by bigger places.

Why? I am a unemployed (or self employed, but do software engineering) civil engineer. But chemical engineers can do all sorts of wrok, apply for oil jobs, you dumbo.

That's pretty believable because chem eng is down the pooper these days but since you are on Sup Forums, I'm convinced you are a failure.

whats your gpa. # of internships and at where?

also what uni.

Has she been confirmed dead ever?

ama slide thread

what's with redditors and begging people to pay attention to them? fuck off

I went to school for computer networking and I'm doing alright. It's about applying yourself FACT

Nice pasta OP.

Hence you have to work WAY harder you fuck
Which clearly this nigger did not. Else he wouldn't be a fuckboy hipster serving nogs and sluts their coffee

pic related

Dont bother with STEM unless you have connections end of story fagboy.

OP, why don't you get an atmospheric science masters and go into dispersion modeling, like I'm planning on doing. Plenty of jobs for dealing with pollution regulations.

Is their just no jobs at all? Did you not look up how saturated the Chem E. field was before enrolling?

haha
>being a neet

hahahahhahahahhhhabdjb, Ffwels fllks slfl ve nabsbaaabV Feels gills yo to be Yloug and jeantht hHahahahhahahahahahvahahahahahah

Why the fuck do you faggot baristas skimp on espresso when you're busy. I paid for a venti Americano, which means four fucking shots, you useless cunt. I don't give a shit how busy you are, don't think I'm not going to be able to tell that you only put two shots in there.

You can work at Boeing with a Chem Eng degree. Try applying and see what happens.

Alternatively, kill yourself for being a pathetic faggot who can't land a job with a STEM degree. Mech Eng has put me on easy street.

What the fuck kind of engineering isn't fucked? Computer could be insane, mechanical is shit tier, chem is now apparently fucked too, petroleum fucked with the oil crash, civ is fucked from the inevitable housing crash in canuckistan, mineral you have to go work in dindu countries.
So when you're saying "I want to be an engineer", they really just mean a electrical engineer?

>Chem Eng.
>Fucks up basic coffee order
>Y I NO CAN BE CHEM ENG

This.

>bachelors

the STEM meme is knowing that a bachelors is only the first step

and too soon

Am I fucked with a 3.2 GPA and 1 (mediocre) internship?

Too soon, motherfucker.

Depends on your connections.

I suppose making coffee is a kind of chemical engineering. So I guess you got a job in a related field. You're one of the lucky ones.

If you want a life close to OP's you are fine.

You should try to bump your GPA to at least 3.5-3.8 to even be seriously looked at.
Also try to get a better internship.
If you don't dedicate yourself to your STEM you are wasting your time.

Also bachelors is a low rung. Gonna need more education than that.

Also this.

do you know how rare it is to have >3.5 gpa in chem e? Are you saying that ~75% of the student body ends up working at starbucks?

Yes.
Work harder or make coffee for sluts.

they're pretty much non-existant, although I do go to a top 10 uni.

Degrees are memes

If you're not in some form of medical or top grades in other STEM fields/finance, don't bother.

Nepotism & actual experience is better than 4 years & 20k+ debt just so you can be a certified typist or unpaid intern.

Education isn't anything but a business nowadays. The vast, vast majority of courses are literally there to fund shareholder's fifth home's to rent out in their university city.

>Buy up ideal student properties
>Basically meme them into uni for 4 years to get shit tier jobs as a bottom-of-the-ladder office monkey
>While they're there, they're paying your mortgage for you
>Buy up more properties
>Repeat
>Students pay your 6 figure salary and pay for your mortgage at the same time for trash qualifications with less value every single year

it's genius, really

Should have went as a mechE

checkem, heil Hitler

checkem, heil Hitler

I may have to become a tranny and get a job through dat affirmative action.

what the actual fuck?

Too soon, man.

>1 post by this ID

Right. I'm currently doing my postgrad in Political Science.

Am I STEM?

Copied for later pasta

i cant remember, how did she died?

Is this same person?

this, disregard this thread, most likely bait

People here don't like to talk about it.

>BA in STEM
>in chemistry related field

Okay, you're on pol and American so chances are you're dumb as fuck. You expected to miraculously become employable with a BA in chemistry or something? You better whore yourself out at internships and do at least an MA.

Ask someone who fell for the STEM meme got a BS in Molecular Genetics and went on to a Phd anything.

Hopefully going to graduate w/i 1 year.

I should have gone to medical school or done an engineering undergrad.

>get a BA in English before discovering the STEM meme
>hear about how STEM is the master race and makes bank while English degree ruins your life and makes you poor
>feel bad about it for a while
>work hard and make the right career moves and in 5 years become a marketing executive making a shit ton of money
>this autistic STEMfag is depressed and fucking up my coffee orders in between meetings
>mfw

why are you such pussies its just a photo of a dead useless good for nothing pretty princess
why give a fuck

FACT hammer and nails isn't a trade, it's just something those of us salaried don't want to spend our weekends doing.

She didn't

What are you researching?

Lab is technically in the genetics dept, but we're a neuro specific lab with light genetics/development.

We study oligodendrocyte development/disease. Published an article in Nature last year about a potential Multiple Sclerosis treatment.

You are now overqualified for anything that isn't a job at the school you got your degree in.

Around how many people from the STEM meme got STEM jobs, percentage-wise?

Probably. I'm looking at patent agency/law now.

Most law firms won't hire people with less than a PhD, so hopefully I can transition into that.

Why don't you get a masters?

Are you by any chance a cretin?

>Chemical Engineering
You have been given the key to the gates of bliss and you waste your time on caffeine
>bachelors
You know what a bachelor means right? Someone who can't afford a wife.

>only 4 are too soon

fucking shit Sup Forums, you can do better than this

Well this isn't Sup Forums, but I'll blame the redditors anyway.

WAY TOO SOON, DELET THIS

MODS MODS MODS

>FACT you can't call yourself red pilled if you studied computer science

You're out of your mind

I graduated from high school in 1991. I have peers who I met in the 1990s who became fantastically wealthy. Even those that did not do that well are making six figure salaries at easy jobs.

I went away to a good university but then financial problems had me move back home and finish at a local state college. Some of the kids at the state college were OK, I kept in touch and they got jobs. Some kids slacked off and did the minimum to get their degree. Yes, those people might have a degree and go nowhere. If you don't really learn the material, if your GPA is near the minimum to graduate, if you don't intern or do side projects or independent learning, you will probably be fucked. If you really put effort into it, it will pay off.

STEM is oversaturated.

That being said... Is it useless to apply to jobs online? I've never gotten a job that way despite applying to hundreds and hundreds of jobs over the last 2 years. Only way to get a job is through personal contacts in my experience

Since this is pretty much a career's choice thread, I guess asking this question is not off-topic : how likely am I, as a foreigner to get a blue collar job in the states, like welder? Which one are the most in demand? How is the pay?

OP you are fucked up. We all agreed to never speak of her again.

I call b's on this
chem eng degrees are exceptionally difficult
Not many grads
Not a ton of jobs open but employers snap up every qualified grad
If you can't do better than retail you are skipping the real reason here

>Is it useless to apply to jobs online?

In STEM? Yeah, probably.

>trades == hammer and nails

you're literally retarded.

>sitting in an office all day working for my jew boss and wondering if i will be fired this week for not getting my 65 hours in or for sexually harassing the new intern by accidentally making eye contact.

obviously much better career choice then tradework which just gets ya
>fat paid
>knowledge that is useful and practical, skills the can be applied to make your own life or environment better and more enjoyable
>being your own boss, taking only the jobs you want
>desired by woman, fuck officebros wife during housecalls while he is at work
>work with your hands, able to get physical and move around all day at work instead of sitting all day
>make your own hours, if you feel like taking a few weeks off you dont need to kiss some supervisor ass to get vacation time
>did i mention that tradesmen make more money then like 90% of office workers
>actually provide value to community instead of just helping your jew boss remove value from the community.
>not having to operate daily in toxic office culture.
>most in demand jobs atm, if you do decide to work for someone else sit back and enjoy the benefits of companies competing to hire you instead of you competing to be hired.

i could go on and on but unfortunately i have to get going. enjoy your boring ass work life salarybro. hopefully you make it to at least 40 before the stress/depression/anxiety that comes with the toxic office culture makes you sudoku. gl

>fly to Mexio
>pretend to be from Honduras
>walk across the border and claim welfare

If you say you're from Europe they won't let you in.

As far as I'm concerned, people will always need an electrical engineer as they rely on technology way too much. So it's most likely worth it desu

there is always a demand for blue collar jobs here. You just have to compete with the mexicans. Assuming you're white, you already have an advantage over them.

Sounds like it's your fault, user. I'm a cheme and got an internship in pharma and got a job right out of college. Most of my friends are doing pretty well after graduating too. I will admit I went to an ivy league school (columbia) but still, the school you go to for engineering shouldn't matter unless you went to MIT anyway.

>That pic
Be still my beating heart

And no, you have the meme-est of meme degrees.

EE is pretty much always safe treebro

Even when the robots take over all the blue collar jobs they'll still need to be fixed/serviced

Trades jobs are good but there are too many retards. Every trade/construction job I've worked is just a bunch of dummies with stupid perverted jokes. I wouldn't be able to stand hanging around those idiots all my life.

You're not looking hard enough then you wasted opportunity for a swallow job.

>Get EE bachelors
>Offered a well paid but essentially peon-teir position in the semi-conductor industry
>Moore's law is dead and I'm pretty sure my days are numbered
What should I do?

do you still feel better than your "idiot" classmates who you looked oh so down upon?

everybody knows stem only works if you have family in high positions in successful corporations

Kill yourself you pathetic ambition-less waste of space and resources.

patent agent or technical specialist. EE are pretty in demand for that.

>implying jobs look at your GPA or even give that much of a shit what school you went to

TOO SOON REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

STEM only works if you are actually smart, if you struggle with most of the courses for STEM than your brain simply isnt up for it, unless your IQ is above 125 dont even bother at all.

/thread
Get to know people, do internships, get exposure. You need all of this for your degree to work for you.

Samefag

>STEM only works if you are actually smart

t. someone who hasn't looked at the academic landscape

I'd say it's been long enough.

This.
Future marine diesel and heavy equipment tech reporting.

you forgot to add

t. someone who's never been to a higher education institution

your intelligence doesn't play as much a role as you think it will at Uni
the only part it plays is knowing when to start studying and how to study

t. was the top of my class all through school and was literally one of the smartest and knowledgeable 5 without even studying that much
But that shit doesn't fly at uni, if you don't study you fucking fail, simple as that
If you don't study enough, you'll still fail, and even if you did study you'll still have that chance of failing because the Uni literally wants its students to fail so that it can grab more cash from you

I'm a senior in chemical engineering who has a 3.37 GPA and an HVAC Internship. You HAVE to actually stand out from the rest of the graduates. Go out of your way to learn things (process modeling, etc), volunteer, and dont just be a lazy autist.
