My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius

>My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius
>Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius
>Father to a murdered son
>Husband to a murdered wife
>And I will have my vengeance in this life or the next.

More like Maximus Plebimus.

*record scratch*

...

I'm terribly vexed

daily reminder that Legio IV Flavia Felix was the best roman legion

They say your son squealed like a little girl when they nailed him to the cross.

And your wife moaned like whore when they ravaged her...over and over again.

>>My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius
This name makes no sense.
>>Commander of the Armies of the North
Also meaningless
>>General of the Felix Legions
Even more meaningless.

Is this movie even good?

You are meaningless user.

flick is trash.
tired of ridley's overhyped shit getting praised all the time.

Greatest film of the century so far

Script writing used to be brilliant, what happened?

Nothing about it is accurate historically, but it has the greatest opening battle scene and un-JUSTed plot of any movie in recent memory

>People should know when they are conquered
>Would you Quintus? Would I?

unironically this

Great picture, great acting from some of the characters and the drama/plot is solid. Quite epic despite its simple story recipe.

Major movie spoiler here that points out a flaw, highly recommend that you don't view it if you are about to see the movie for the first time.
All of the battle scenes are quite bad and suffers from having an editing priority and not much choreography. Most people don't tend to notice it until someone actually points it out. Special effects are pretty decent but they mostly serve as a distraction from the lack of "combat".

>Gladiator 2 never
I want to die

Commodus a shit.

Courtesy of /his/.

>We mortals are but shadows and dust
>SHADOWS AND DUST, MAXIMUS!

Reed was amazing

>tfw you were a little kid and mixed up the lines to husband to a murdered son, father to a murdered wife

>movies women will never understand
