Should drugs be decriminalized?

Should drugs be decriminalized?

...

Yes, there is really no reason not to.
Governments shouldn't be policing the population. The job of a government is to collect taxes that are going to be used to defend the country and maintain the borders. That's it.

Any meddling in people's private lives is the government gaining more power.
People are going to get drugs no matter what, making them illegal simply encourages smuggling and nigger culture.
Pro-guns people always say that criminals are going to get guns no matter what, doesn't matter how illegal they are. Why wouldn't the same be true for drugs? If I can get a gun illegally what stops me from getting cocaine illegally?

I get your flags confused sometimes lol

Wear your glasses son.

>butt

No, as someone who lived on the streets as a drug addict surrounded by other drug addicts, decriminalizing drugs would be the dumbest thing to do since immigration.

So in other words, youre personal history is living proof that you have no idea what youre talking about.

Furthermore the government helping keeping crime out of drugs would help retards like yourself from ending up on the streets.

Retard.

...

>colorblind
>need to hover mouse over flag to find out who's talking
>latvian faggot thinks glasses solves that

Yes. With increased sentencing if found to be the route cause of a Violent crime.

The entire notion of victimless crime is fundamentally absurd tbqhwy.

if your colourblind you should honestly commit suicide

No they should be fully legalized for personal use quantities. Having to depend on big pharma is not any better, people will use drugs whether or not they are legal.

Only if big pharma can monopolize the markets.

"If you were to take a blender and mix it all up, would it still be as delicious?"

Uhhh

Yes

obviously the question is directed at people without shit taste

I ended up on the streets because I couldn't pay for my habbit anymore and started selling my own stuff, so did most of us.

You can't remove crime because they'll commit it anyway, addiction is a lifestyle as weird as that might sound and that includes extreme egoism and not being able to trust any other addicts that you know.

Meh I get confused between Latvia and Austria too. Usually I just think Austria is Latvia posting unless I check the flag.

There's no point in locking up people for consuming something that you don't agree with.
As for the addicts (which is only a subset of users), that's a health issue, not a criminal one.

what's wrong with not seeing colors?
It's not like I'm retarded. It's just that I can't tell purple and pink apart. No big deal

reminder that decriminalized =/= legalized

you can still be put into detention for drug possession

Based Bernie Sanders detected.

Fuck off.

Not necessarily. All it means is that it could remain a de jure offense.

Bernie "the only kike I ever liked" Sanders.

your flag looks like the minimize thread button

No, ban it and let our country make money off junkie tourists as long as I don't have to use anything.

Yes, regulate and tax the industry heavily so that you can profit off your populace's addiction.

It's fucking time the state started to operate as a business.

Yes, people shouldn't be criminalized by a personal choice that only affects themselves.

If you're willing to commit a violent crime because you care more about your drug of choice then it's your own weak self doing it.

Why does every government claim to give a fuck about illegal drugs and then turn around and prescribe the same kind of drug effects just in pill form?

No.

Weed should be decriminalized. There is already one place where dealers openly sell weed on the street so everybody can easily get it. So it could as well be decriminalized and sold in designated shops.

Why

>hallucinogenes
>LCD
>ayyy

yeah, m8s hallucinogens are all about seeing and hearing funny stuff. Thats the only thing it does. No other reason to take them. pls believe us.

Sure. Psychedelics are ok

Case in point:

...

So if everyone wants do to PCP in public that's totally cool right?

It depends whether you view the law as a pragmatic or an idealistic system. I tend to think overarching statutes should be idealistic while implantation and practice at the local level should be pragmatic.

So to the question, should drugs be decriminalized? No, because I think it's largely an unhealthy practice. Should cops ruin the lives of kids who are stupid and have no guidance by sending them to prison? Obviously no.

So what you're suggesting is basically a mild form of decriminalization. I.e prudence in enforcement rather than changing legislation.

Hallucinogens are super fun. The odd thought patterns they cause do sometimes make people reevaluate their choices. But for the most part it doesn't turn people into filthy layabouts like other drugs so I don't care about that.
The main problem is when people take three tabs expecting anything to be different afterwards. You're still you, the world is still the same. However, during the trip your perception is deeply altered, which some people don't handle well at all. In my experience it has only ever been my sensory inputs that change, the internal world remains as it was.
Although I still enjoy writing long posts about my psychedelic experiences for some reason. Maybe so others don't fall into the logical pitfalls I did.

Sort of a mild de facto decriminalization. The statute should remain because it should be what is striven towards, but people need to make things work now and strict adherence to ideals doesn't generally work. Formally changing the law creates a sense of enabling the behavior.

I agree generally.

To clarify, the 'altered thought patterns' I refer to are largely a result of the initial confusion you have. The brain is plainly not accustomed to the input from LSD or other drugs.

>Implying you haven't been around a group of people high as fuck on PCP without knowing it before
Is it totally cool when a group of people are out in public drunk off their belligerent and being assholes?

Take drugs
Become high
Loose inahabitions
>faggot

We should eradicate muslims and niggers before.
They are the first market and the first sellers of all these shit.

i'm fine though with a soft drug like canabis (just don't sell it to minors) but the rest of them have an overdose treshold pretty easy to reach and some like narcotics or cocaine an extremly addictive potential.
You can't consume these things and be a functiunnal member of the society on the long run or at least you will never reach your true potential.
Even golden boys end by having a breakdown with cocaine.

>inb4 ideological arguments

I'm pragmatic when it comes to substances and honestly I don't see the bright side of legalizing these drugs, before you speak about taxes you need to know that alcohol and cigarrets cost a lot more to society by healthcare (not only cancer but a variety of chronic illness) than they generate in revenues.

it depends on how stupid the population is.
if heroin were decriminalized in america, it would surely produce hundreds of thousands of new addicts.

French poster of Sup Forums are always super hardcore.

Daily reminder that inhalants are the thinking man's drug

Kek'd

Alt-right cuckery there

Buying and using should be. Selling shouldn't be.

The overdose threshold is pretty easy to reach because there is no standard from product to product. Most every prescription medication has overdose potential and a large portion of them have a mild to extreme potential for addiction and dependence.

>You can't consume these things and be a functional member of the society in the long run or at least you will never reach your true potential
You can argue that this could be caused by many things that happen in life. Bad breakups, deceased family members, injury, dropouts, mental illness, and so many others I don't want to bother listing out. How exactly do drugs and meeting up to your "true potential" even match up properly?

What drugs are popular in Finland, Spurdo?

That is why you decriminalize, not legalize. Police can still enforce laws against addicts, but it will no longer be a felony like it is now.

Instead of getting jailed and become an even heavier burden on the state, they can be assigned to addiction therapy specialist by court order.

This way they continue to live and can work to provide for themselves, while also allowing the state to do as it sees fit to combat addiction, which in my opinion is an illness to be treated, not punished.

Addiction is a serious issue, and it is less about the drugs and more about how the drugs/stimulant can rewire your brain's "stimulant/reward" systems. People forget that we are still mammals, and we are still dictated to by our body's chemistry. Fuck up the chemistry you fuck everything up.

Well, weed is popular ofcourse, I do smoke every now and then myself, but the availability of drugs in Finland is not very good unless you got connections, and I don't want to associate with dealers, so I get my hands on the stuff very rarely.
Subutex is popular among the actual junkies.

>in public
There's the hook. Are you allowed to drink in public in the US? I assumed you weren't.
Why do people always drag shit like this into arguments?
