what?
Because I would lose.
Because gambling is degenerate and a stupid way to lose all your money.
what's your opinion on spin & go?
It isn't 2005 anymore.
they have live tournaments every once in awhile
theres a few online players that transitioned into live games too
Math guy from the other thread.
I used to play all the time online until America shit all over me.
I am confident that once I get back in to practice I can make consistent money playing poker and taking advantage of retards in small/medium stakes games.
My biggest problem before was tilt management. I am confident that I can play more or less every hand optimally until I get pissed off. If I can control the anger I will make a ton of cash. Any tips for this? I am aware that your luck will fluctuate and you will make money only in the long term but its still hard to calm down at times.
all those poker fags always going broke eventually
playing a popular game to make money sounds like a brilliant idea, right?
don't be an idiot next time. you only have yourself to blame. treat it like it's all you have.
Pokerstars, for example, has tournaments in the Bahamas, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Macau and Panama, along with other places.
You can qualify for these online and they pay for you all expenses paid.

Only legal in NJ
do you play exclusively large MTTs then I take it?
I also currently play HU SNGs, and used to play small tournaments (45/180 mans) but these have dried up. also played 6 max cash at up to $2/4 but MTTs have been much more lucrative after black friday
Im regular to 100PLOZ on stars that jumped stakes to 200 and 500 and lost over 10 grand last month, currently on a break(cause broke and mad).
only technically
I can't, port authority shut it down.
Wictor wtf are you doing xD
OP how did you learn to play?
How hard and time consuming is it to learn?
Learn shove math, learn the basics of ICM theory, read sklansky and kill everyone vol 1 if you are interested in tournaments no limit holdem.
You probably need to put down like 1000 hours just like in any other hobby, I guess OP knows more about tournaments but Im supernova 2nd year in a row playing PLO zoom.
175K games
That's quite a lot user.
...
Thank you user.
I played poker 40 or 50 hours a week for about 5 years. If you want to make money playing cash games, find places to play in real life.
internet poker is, in general, more competitive now than a low or medium stakes home game or casino. Assholes are playing 25 tables at a time and trying to make 25 cents an hour per table online. There just isn't very much inefficiency even in small stakes online.
Pros use programs that tell them exactly how their opponents play, and exactly what plays they should make. And cheating is a serious problem. I used to travel the tournament circuit with a bunch of semi-pros. Guys would all bring their laptops to the hotel and join the same games.
Questionable legality and changes in law can take away Internet Poker at any time. When the US shut down pokerstars, I had friends who didn't have money to eat because their entire bankrolls were frozen.
