idris elba as geralt

By making it as good as the books.

By making 80% of the cast non-white.

They won't.

brown people

By making it live action

NIGGERS!

By removing all semblance to the video game and giving the original author free reign.

seems pretty conclusive to me

the director is going to be the same guy who directed that short as well as the Witcher 1 and 2 Cinematics

Bagiński?
That guy's a below average animator by worldwide standards, he was just the most famous guy we had in this shithole country.

You clearly don't know how low "worldwide" standards are. Or you're just being a slavbitch for postmodern cred or some gay shit.

OP said fuck up not make it great

Okay, maybe I worded it wrong.
He's a good animator, but not anything else. He has no directing talent, no talent in composition, visual design, etc.
He got semi-famous because of "Cathedral" in the early 2000s, when 3D animation was a fledgling industry, especially here in Poland. But even back then he was nothing remarkable.

I hope they hire a real director to direct this show, because Bagiński is honestly bad. A director will make or break this series, because the plot is as generic as they come.

Jesus, the speed up/slow mo action scenes look so fucking stupid.
Just keep it real time for fuck's sake its not 2006 anymore

this was neat for a video game cinematic. you get to know a bit about 5 different characters in a few minutes.

By pandering to gamers.

black people everywhere for no good reason

At least it's made by Netflix, not by Poles.

youtube.com/watch?v=ct_b4t4QXUA

I've never seen this before and holy shit. If the netflix show is like that then I have nothing to worry about

I kind of like original Polish series.

They are notoriously bad in Poland and trashed around, because of bad CGI (it was 90s) and some awkward acting, but overall I like those Polish countryside / medieval thematics, peaceful music and just calm, not-epickkk-dragon-killer adventures Gerlat and Jaskier (Dandelion?) have.

>mfw the games are better than the books and the author is legitimately salty over it

they won't, no niggers allowed in witcher

By casting jungle monkeys.

You realise the guy is actually more of a director than an animator now right?

He's made 18 short films and worked with Platige Image even more besides the Witcher cinematics, as well as making about 5 or 6 short films to help prepare him for The Witcher movie, before it was changed to a TV show.

Yeah, he's not a super experienced director since he's only really worked on short films, but to say he has no directing talent is kind of harsh considering he's been directing stuff since 1998.

I can understand your concern, but there have been directors with virtually no experience who have gone on to direct some great stuff.

diversity quotas

this
the Books are Forgotten Realms-tier generic trash by an extremely obnoxious, self-important author who got literally no recognition or praise for them (aside from a hilariously shitty TV show in the 90s).

Then CDPR made some good games based on the license which they got a bargain for (Sapkowski took more money upfront in return for not having any interest on the game's earnings, as he thought games are shit and nobody cares about them).

The games made more money than he had in his entire sorry career, he got none of it, and now most people think the books are based on the games LUL

Well it's going to be live action not animated, but it is being produced in part by the same company that made that trailer. It's also being mostly directed by the guy that directed this:

youtube.com/watch?v=c0i88t0Kacs

He also directed a bunch of other Witcher 1 and 2 cinematics, as well as the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer

Will Geralt kill monsters?

All they need to do is adapt the last wish, its an easy format, the butcher of blaviken story has potential to be stand out if done right.

I'm saying the Polish AV industry is so fucked up that they don't understand that somebody being good at animating fight scenes doesn't mean that he'll be able to carry something much more demanding - filming things as simple as conversation (which is done terribly in his shorts), or manipulating scene structure.

I'm not dismissing him outright, perhaps he'll do a good job, but everybody seems to be giving him a carte blanche based on absolutely nothing. He hasn't proven himself as a director in any way.

this looks like absolute shit tho
the witcher's realistic aesthetic doesn't lend itself well to anime combat and ridiculous camera panning

epic response bro!

do you have anything constructive to say?
i really do think that the animation both in the cinematic and the game itself clashes heavily with the atmosphere, when Geralt does retarded piruets and ninja jumps in full armor during medieval combat.

and yes I know it was like that in the books, but in the written word you can get away with a lot of shit that adaptations have to, you know, adapt. because it looks fucking stupid when you see it.

They'll force in "timely" and "necessary" allegories about religious white men oppressing poor misunderstood non-humans

niggers

where are these SICK memes coming from bro, they're so fresh!

Hold on a fucking second this looks like Beauclair and the Bruxa looks like Orianna.

Hitler dubs confirm

Will this be as fun to watch as the interactive movie it's based on?

Yeah I agree but what else do you expect from a game series that caters to manchild autists.

That's in the books though, and games. Though "white men" is pretty irrelevant since everyone is white, including the non-humans.

That's because it is. Its set after B&W

Idris Elba as geralt

The Games are fine, they're just not as AMAZING and PERFECT as people seem to want to believe.

CDPR's strategy was to just outdo Bioware at making a Bioware games, and they marketed W3 as "Look! We're great developers, not like BIOWARE! Our game is not gonna be full of shit like BETHESDA's!" and morons ate it up, even though W3 is full of the shit that made Skyrim and DA so bad

>Jaskier (Dandelion?)
Jaskier is literally "Buttercup" in Polish
the translators thought it's really faggy name and renamed him Dandelion because it ends with "lion", which is cooler
for the same reason Germans translators re-named him Rittersporn and Czechs Marigold

I genuinely have a feeling the Polish won't let us down here but having the Netflix name on it has me wary. An episodic Witcher series could actually be really good.

DEEPEST LORE

Who do you cast as Yen?

Idris Elba

Eva Green as Iris

Y/N ?

By pandering to game babbys and ignoring the vastly superior narrative of the source material.

Iris won't be in the show
