THis. I live in Alabama and its traditional to get your kid a rifle or shotgun for their 14th bday ( you can carry a weapon at 14 if you pass hunter safety course and 14 is the biblical age of adulthood) and a pistol and car at 16 to celebrate ,manhood.

Its a part of southern culture to buy kids guns. I got my first gun at 8 ( BB gun) and at 14 got a 30.06 rifle. AT 16 I got my .45 pistol and at 18 a revolver for graduation
