Just "-ić".

Also, Macedonians usually have -ski and Bulgarians -ski, -ev and -ov.

-ić is more of a Serbo-Croatian thing. Slovenes are a mixed bag.

Having ć, č, ž, š and đ in your name can be real annoying if you're working on something international-related or move to a Western country.

My is -ov
My mother's is -in(a)
Her mother's was -ski [-ska(ya)]

Russian last names end in -in if the word they are formed from had the ending -a or -'. This is sometimes violated because -ov is felt as a more powerful ending, being masculine, so there are surnames such as Lebedev despite the expected form Lebedin, from lebed'. I remember Lebedinsky from somewhere, though.

My last name is Novik
hello fellow burgerslav

>Poland: last names ending with -ski
>Romania: last names ending with -scu
coincidence?

hmm i just checked Bulgarian football player names and they all are -ov and -ev like russians
but Macedonians indeed, -ski seems to be really popular, they must be some long lost polish tribe
i always knew Aleksander Macedoński was a polish conqueror

What if my last name ends with -sky?

polish descent confirmed

you're an angel

Only half of the Russians have an -ov/-ev surname. The other have -in. For example, Putin. In fact, it's a very Bulgarian thing to have only -ov/-ev.

last names ending with -stein or -berg

-ić is popular in poland too but it evolved into -icz

-ov - da reeeeal russians
-in - jews/finns/tatars
-ski/vich - jews/ukranians/belorussians

I'd say majority of Macedonians have -ski surnames but -ic and -ov/-ev are also common.
Bulgarians rarely have -ski surnames.

We joke about this considering one of the Bulgarian claims is something like "you were forced to add -ski by the Serbs/communists thus if you drop it they end in -ov/-ev you Bulgarians in denial".
Kurov (aka my dick) also ends in -ov is he also a Bulgarian?

is Putin jew?

That applies only for who are "russians". Of course uzbeks with -ov arent any russians.
Putin is Finnic may be Veps

I believe the Czech version should be Novak or Novac?

Why no Georgians?

Novik sounds very czech to me
but i believe Nowak and Novak are the most popular last names respectively in Poland and Czech Rep.

i have no idea about georgian last names except for Stalin who's real last name was fucked up, ending with -vili or something

>uzbeks

I met a Bosnian refugee Neo-Nazi once
His name was something like Mehmetovic...
He was saying he hates ragheads but looked like a Gypsy himself
Life is strange
