Because you're a huge pleb.

because you're a fucking pleb.

because it was about the duality of men

But it's good too

Jesus Christ, really, Kubrick?

Literally, it's because your idea of war is a glorified version that Hollywood and video games have pushed onto people your age. War IRL is nothing like it is in the movies, which is why Full Metal Jacket is praised so much for its realistic depiction of it.

second half is a pleb filter

Not enough le funney Drill Sergeant yelling

the Jungian thing sir

>war IRL is nothing like it is in the movies
>full metal jacket is praised so much for its realistic depiction
Well which one is it?

Because you're a massive pleb.

I bet your biggest complaint is that it doesn't have anymore of le shouty man, isn't it?

I liked the second half better because that was the only half that was a war movie, like I expected.

I was sad when there was no more angry shouty man

Grow a brain

Do I fit in?: the post

You literally just regurgitated what said.

Explain why its bad

>not liking the sniper scene
Mass pleb

We play fair and we work hard

Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse!
Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse!

That scene still ruins me to this day

I wonder why Kuby included Disney in some of his films?

because you're just the biggest fucking pleb around bud

To show American imperialism

Best character. Prove me wrong.

Protip: you can't.

Watch war footage some time. FMJ is a good peice of art, but a horrible depiction of war. Dudes fall in shit stakes and get mortared from miles away, not shot by 7/10 cunny

>Bants with 8 ball and gives him shit for being black
>8 ball gets tagged by a sniper and so does Doc J
>Animal mother is the only one willing put his own ass on line to save one of his men
>charges in alone for him

i sincerely mean this: you're everything wrong with how people watch movies

what the fuck was his problem

I thought the second half was unnerving

>hurr it's totally okay for a movie to tell you it's something and then be almost entirely something else! that's not false advertising!

better you then me

>Better you than me

Can anyone argue with this logic

Because war sucks.

Just watched this at the cinema. Thank you based Cinépolis.

Babby's first case of yellow fever

The second half is very good two... but there's a distinct gear shift after boot camp. And the bit with private Pyle is some pretty epic storytelling and some phenomenal acting by Pyle and Sgt Hartman. It is true that the first half outshines the second, but it's still good all the way through.

And it's meant to be like that. It's an illustration of how war literally turns reality upside down. You're sort of shocked to go from boot camp and get plunged right into the middle of the schizophrenic chaos of war.

Great movie. But honestly, Kubrick sort of did the same with Clockwork Orange. The first half was Alex's normal life from being a respectable and normal (seeming) teen by day to a raping/beating/killing psychopath on rampage by night.... then the movie makes a clean break and shifts gears when he goes to prison. It's the same sort of abrupt shift that really shocks the senses.
