How do we make Houston great again?

How do we make Houston great again?

Restart from the ground up

Simple. Gather up all the niggers, and spics and hang them from trees.

Elect a President that will start up the space program again instead of just giving free shit to niggers

I don't know, San Antonio is basically Houston with spics instead of niggers and it isn't nearly as bad.

>Houston
>good
Pick one.

Houston was never good

Go back to Beaumont cletus

Improve bus routes, public transport besides lightrail, beautify neighborhoods, parks, use austin as a model, stop demolishing historical buildings, obvious things

the former love street light circus building and allens landing are being remodeled and will hopefully be a hotbed like it was in the 60s for culture

they just opened white oak music hall not that long ago, it's ok and i know they're trying to bring more venues and attractions as well as shopability in downtown

free press needs to cut the ultra fascist SJW shit though as well as the entire montrose area, which i love

houston is also going the way of austin and will be invaded by commiefornians soon

Start by publicly executing Sheila Jackson Lee

Overthrow the kingdom of Saud

>this is the only right answer

>free press

Some degenerate highschooler killed themselves with 'tainted' acid this past freepress.

Such a shitty hispter-fest joke of a festival. I'm considering going to Open Air since we never get cool stuff like that here and I want to see Ghost.

No. Get your fucking cancer out of my city.

I left LA to get away from California and its gentrification and hipster shit. Let me have my working class city, go move to Austin if you want fucking concert halls and public transportation and "green spaces".

I move to Houston post-military and the Commiefornians beat me to it, because it's more affordable than Austin.

i meant the publication, not summer fest
it's an organization

Yup

I'm a native houstonian you dumb cunt. I was born here but I lived in Austin for a little bit

>Let me have my working class city, go move to Austin if you want fucking concert halls and public transportation and "green spaces".
wtf is that supposed to mean, every large city has a decent public transport (houston's is good and is improving, i was just suggesting expanding outside of the 610 loop), it has great concert halls (better museums and art festivals), and "green spaces"?

Increase property taxes in low income areas and force the niggers and spics out

Build Wall.

The greater houston area is fantastic for the most part. Houston can't keep with their city like sugar land Pearland or Katy can.

To anyone living in Houston I highly suggest investing in the Acres Homes area. I predict within ~10 years it will become a hipster neighborhood and the housing prices will skyrocket.

the hipster area has always been montrose and surrounding areas (the heights, white oak, midtown, rice village, river oaks)

there are a lot of young hippies living near that white oak music hall venue

It was never great.. it has no character senpai a lam. It's just a giant highway with a few bars in midtown that have a firepit and outdoor jenga

>Pearland

Lived here all my life and its starting to grow a little too much. The west side of town is getting a little rough.

it has lots of character, you just haven't looked

Gentrification inside and around the 610 loop is making my suburbanite commute to Alert Logic fucking suck, because all the millennial refugees are moving to Galleria and Montrose.

And all these parks make shortcuts shitty.

Oh, and gentrification is forcing all the dindus further out, and they're stealing fucking rims out in Cypress where I live now. We're starting to get burglaries and shit in Fairfield, IN FUCKING FAIRFIELD DAMNIT!

Your basically pushing the poison into my hood.

any city that isnt a walking city is generally shit tbqh family

galleria area sucks, i literally have no idea why people who are not from here thinks it is such an attraction and i hate driving through it

i still enjoy certain parts of montrose

Can't disagree with you,the west side has exploded in my lifetime.

Buy a car fgt. We're an oil and gas city, if you aren't burning dinosaurs to get around, you don't belong.

I live on the west outskirts too and have gone to school in cypress, it's a little worse but it's never been that appealing of an area anyway

spring is cool

Pray oil prices go up again so we can get back to work. The town sort of sorts itself out when there is work. Its not glamorous, but you can find pretty much anything you want with some effort and can raise a family.

Deport all Katrinaggers.

it is a walking city... if you live in the city

just what's considered the "greater houston area" is so massive

I have a car famalam but I live in the Northeast.. visited Houston once. Good tacos. Shitty zoning laws and a bunch of highways everywhere you look.

Very true, I get triggered so bad when I see a Tesla.

Do not use austin as a model for anything. Its an overrated shithole where millennials go around convincing themselves not to jump in front of traffic everyday.

Burn down the north/east/south sides of town, preferably with everyone there still in their homes, then rebuild from the ground up.

Its the only path remaining.

But leave the refineries or we're kinda fucked economically

Turn the Astrodome into a city-owned but contractor-operated casino. It would be fucking awesome, create jobs, and amazing revenue for the city.

Build the fucking wall. DEPORT. wages will go up and blacks from southwest will have lots of jobs for a change

legalize weed and then a couple others drugs as a big fuck you to cartels, who will then flee the city when they no longer have customers

start to diversify away from oil&gas

There is nothing in the city save for work offices and some overpriced "Lofts". Businesses die in the city. I have been to NYC and its not the same.

>start to diversify away from oil&gas

Too late for that lol

do you work in a coffee shop?

REMOVE MINORITIES
REMOVE LIBERALS

it's overrated now, but it has a rich history and beautiful flora, they are able to maintain their city with i guess all that they make from music, film, and other events. i think our former mayor was talking about using dallas as a model too as least for our down town shopping areas

i definitely prefer houston as a city, it is not picked up by on trendies from out of town as of yet and i want to keep it that way. it is my home

>comparing houston to nyc

no

nah, it's literally not

Went to a girls apartment who lived close to UT once. I was incredibly suprised at how run down and graffiti ridden the area was. Especially considering how expensive it's.

Rather go to Galveston if gambling was legalized again, that place would be the southern Vegas.

Houston will always be shit because the fucking humidity and heat undermine the quality of life. In winter this city is totally different, vibrant, happy, people dress nicer, etc.

Longterm it is doomed because it is not going balls deep into the full spectrum of energy. And nobody innovative wants to live here. People only move here for a job, not to build a disruptive company.

Spics are a tier above niggers but they're still terrible. Niggers drag entire communities down and ultimately ruin entire cities.

>beautiful flora
u whut?? it's a pestilential swamp in all honesty..

Fuuuuuuck Galveston its so fucking lame.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the US, I can and I will compare.

I think there is enough talent to retool the city into manufacturing other industrial equipment and smaller devices. It takes time to develop those things tho

> He doesn't live in based Seattle

DAMN WHAT AN UGLY CITY

Nukes
Better yet just nuke the whole state
Hydroponics already proves we don't need the furtive soil to make crops so if we nuke Texas nothing of value will be lost
Fuck the lone star state
It's such a shithole you have a better chance of fixing Michigan than Texas

Seattle is hipster SJW central, it's fucking shit

As someone who grew up in the dfw area I can only laugh at this idea. Most of Dallas is a shit hole. Fort Worth is actually becoming nicer than Dallas nowadays

It is now, but remember there is a fucking mob family in charge of most of the properties there, the second a bill is signed all the boring resorts become casinos.

Houston seems like a fucking sprawling wasteland like Los Angeles

I disagree it is the illegals who are making houston intolerable right now

subpar labor at almost every business and construction project, clogging the roads with their shitty cars, bringing rare diseases back, crowding out the existing culture, replacing it with a more inferior and infantile one, collapsing our public schools, etc...

I wouldn't go into the gulf around galveston if paid, the water is atrocious

>not to build a disruptive company.

That is a strange way of saying making companies that operate as CIA spy networks, break city zoning laws, and operate merchandising operations. Silicon Valley is like an "it" girl, its does thing because everyone is paying attention to it, not because they are smart...save for google and apple

Have lives in Dallas and Houston. Neither comes close. Enjoy your shit city full of fat people and long commutes my dude.

I say the samething. I think both of these cities came of age during the car era and were built around that.

There is literally no reason to ever go to Galveston unless you want to eat at Gaidos or something.

It's incredibly humid with tons of black people. The crime was always bad but after katrina it went through the roof. The major cities in Texas are generally pretty shitty. It's the suburbs that are really nice

there are tons of beautiful native plants all around texas, austin has some great parks and scenery

the beach but downtown galveston has a lot of historical buildings and i appreciate it for what it is now

size doesn't mean anything, nyc is nyc

the skyline is beautiful, some of the older buildings have particularly nice architecture like the postmodern bank of america center building

Most of the money is around the city not in the city

Are there a lot of Mexicans in Austin?

You misspelled Portland Oregon

fort worth has been better than dallas for a while
last time i went to the dallas area i was in grand prarie for the brian wilson show and it was a pretty nice area

i'm traveling to san antonio tomorrow, it's been a while since i've been

mfw there is no real solution to inner loop traffic

or the horrendous drivers that
- don't use their blinkers... ever
- swerve in and out of traffic like maniacs
- drive with no lights at night
- cut you off at ever chance then proceed to go 5 miles under the speed limit

These bad habits have started to stick on me and I hate it.

yuppies pushed out the hipsters. eastside is the new hipster area. yuppies will follow.

What about San Antonio? Is it a nice city to live? I heard they were getting Google fiber and I had a job offer in the city.

i was in east side for this small festival recently and besides the hipster filled building it was full of run down la-style buildings and mexicans. from the shows, it is but i have no idea why

The best thing about living in Houston is when you go on vacation its always fucking amazing even if its just a little state park in Arkansas.

You mean "no zoning laws". It's how we keep rent low. Doing a damn good job at it too.

That doesn't help , ive seen more white people living under freeways with families then a mexican asking for money. Houstonanian here.
Shut the fuck up leaf , you dont know hispanics , and ontop of that we arent cucks like your people letting mudshits in.
We have the second highest GDP you dumbass , we could be our own country.

don't forget the cyclecunts who think they own the right lane of a 50 mph road

it's slow compared to the other city
full of old people with the highest hispanic population out of the 4 major cities

fossil fuels are the only energy source that will ever matter and when/if they run out our civilization will regress back to the iron age. alternative energy will never be able to replace them

Where do you want them to ride? The grass?

cheap rent
cheap properties
close to downtown
close to UH
lots of cheap warehouse space so you can throw parties/raves/ or have a hipster business etc
no fucking annoying yuppies
old buildings are cool
traffic isn't bad
there's light rail

I want to buy a lot and put a few wheeled tiny home on it with a common nice garden/lounge area, so I pay as little property taxes as possible, and rent them out.

Not true. Prices of wind and solar are dropping at a very fast rate. Battery technology is also getting better fast.

I haven't been to San Antonio is 10yrs but when I went I would rank it as one of the nicest major cities in Texas. It was super clean and had great food. The riverwalk was awesome. Even if you don't get Google fiber Texas has pretty cheap internet. I was living in frisco before I left and was getting 130mbs for $50

build some barricades or something to stop the flooding.

I swear every year houston is in the news for being flooded and yet you morons still don't do anything to prevent it.

Level it with fire power and start agian

Have Hillary shot there

This sounds like good city planning.

SE has the most obnoxious beggars. Saw a hipster begging in Gulfgate with a sign that said "Just traveling, anything helps"

Indian chicks working their begging racket

Now white girls are getting in on it.

These people have no sun damage on their skin they are no homeless they are just scammers

Fumigating the sewer system to concentrate the rat population ofc. Get out of here nigger.

they'll never come close to fossil fuels and will never be able to support a society on the scale of ours

Houston and Harris county government are owned by developers. It's about flipping properties and sticking the federal government with subsidized flood insurance. Everytime it floods we get to squeeze mo money from the feds.

More guns and less blacks. Mexicans can stay as long as they're legal.

Yep. I see obese beggars on the way to San Jac every week.
