Is this show historically accurate?

And do these people resemble ethnic Vikings from the old age?

Vikings deserved what they got at Stamford.

no. this is a facial reconstruction of a viking and it's beautiful

No. This show paints the Vikings as knowledgeable warriors exploring when in reality they were just thieves and murderers. The Vikings were snow niggers. They only started raiding and conquering because, like niggers, they were overpopulated. They almost always got their arse handed to them in actual battles. The reason the Vikings were so successful was because they preyed on small towns and churches and would sail away before any army could reach them.

100% inaccurate, this is what they would have looked like

t.colonised for almost a 100 years

Nordic Kings =/= Vikings

>Is this show historically accurate?

Historical accuracy is a social construct.

As for the Rus, they live on an island ... that takes three days to walk round and is covered with thick undergrowth and forests; it is most unhealthy. ... They harry the Slavs, using ships to reach them; they carry them off as slaves and…sell them. They have no fields but simply live on what they get from the Slav's lands. ... When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

It is not historically accurate but basically fantasy with historical inspiration, otherwise this would be a documentary series and not drama. There is an effort from the writer to be somewhat historical though so there is a possibility that you might still learn something which is more than can be said for most tv shows.

Ragnar's actor is australian

Lagertha's actress is ukrainian

Floki's actor is danish

>do these people resemble ethnic Vikings from the old age

Typical American, can't even spot the Jewish broad in the cast while she knocks down minor items off the stage with her schnoz.

>australian
Is this why some Australian wh*tes look non-white? Is there some Australian ethnic group that causes squinty-like eyes?

>""""history"""" channel
>historically accurate

No

Yes, everybody wore black leather and fur.

Expensive dyes were actually seen as garish instead of a symbol of wealth.

That's a nordcuck fantasy. In reality Slavic warlords sold Slavic slaves.

These days everything is so confuse that I guess not. These actors may be some Brits or Poles making a living in Sweden, no one knows.

Being blond, growing a beard and being born in Sweden don't mean anything anymore.

Vikings weren't bald, no

Being a viking was a profession not a race. Majority of vikings hailed from Denmark and Norway.

Pretty much lost the shred of credibility it had with this guy.

isn't he playing an english ? english people are dark, they don't look like vikings

Think he's talking more about plot than hair colour.

Rollo will convert Scandinavia. Mark my words.

Two Finns.

We know

...

Very little of the show is historically accurate.
The arms and armor are only sometimes accurate, sometimes even a highschooler would know it's bullshit.
The plots aren't remotely accurate to history or legend.
The actors are white, yes, but they don't have scandinavian features as a whole.
They act like modern people with regards to almost everything, is a symptom of this.

>the only reason they were so successful is because they strategically sound areas which resulted in the colonization of the british isles

missed a word, attacked in strategically sound areas

>tfw americans think they have good accents for vikings

Aahahah the norcucks must be furious

>going through american youtube channels about vikangz
>"da vikangz invented sailing and washing also they rode around on mammoths and built pyramids"
why do they do this? what makes vikings so appealing to your average brainlet?

>Skarsgård
>Dane
angry face

>Goes into battle with no helmet and minimal armor
>Women fighting on the front lines
>Accurate
Pick one and only one

>Women fighting on the front lines
This one was probably true though.

Also, the Anglosaxons apparently wear cheesy Hercules tv series style helmets and armor wtf History channel.

you must be joking

No it wasn't. Women were valuable as baby makers and too expensive to risk in raids. Which was why the Vikings kidnapped Irish girls to take back as sex slaves.

What did they do at Stamford?
Serious question, I'm uncultured, apparently

>But some experts warn against making additional assumptions beyond gender. The artifacts could have been heirlooms from a male relative, they say, or were symbolic. Or perhaps the grave once held a second individual who was male. Her skeleton shows no obvious trauma indicative of battle wounds, but archaeologists of Viking graves say there are often none found on male warrior skeletons.

Look, I'm no /r/incel guy. In most of our history, women are kept away from harm because of their importance in producing children. No doubt there are always outliers but that was never the norm.

meh, not even sure. Some (ah-hum) people believe what they see on Foxnews.

> No doubt there are always outliers but that was never the norm.
I never claimed otherwise, that's why I originally said 'probably true'.
And it probably was true, that's all.

If it were true, why the Norse Sagas didn't depict this? According to Sagas, they could only have SINGLE shildmaiden in the battlefield.

Vikings aren't some Sarmatians, they didn't have any warrior women culture.

*Raids London* *Raids Paris*

No. There is about zero historical accuracy in it. They even use the wrong runic script.

Fuck off, lad.

There are also jews in the cast.

This.

pls be a joke
There is zero history gone into the script save for shady wikipedia articles

>two of the main characters' actors are australian
what did they mean by this?
