The destruction of the uss enterprise is one of the greatest scenes in the history of cinema

No it wasn't but it was very effective (for something we've seen in every Trek movie) and this was a solid movie.

Best Trek movie since Star Trek VI, just a whole movie treated as an extended TOS away mission instead of trying to cram Trek into a blockbuster framework that it doesn't fit into on a fundamental level.

nope, it's hastily paced and lacks impact

>gets sucked out into space

>best movie
>blowing up ships with the beastie boys
user, please...

>Implying that scene wasn't Kino

Total shit movie and the worst trek film ever made.

It is beautifully directed and gives you a great feel for the size and weight of it all.

I agree.
In 1984.

It seems they thought of that Beastie Boy moment first, and then tried to build a plot around it.

It was still good fun but now Star Trek done a 'Roger Moore's Bond' and gone comedic. Not good.

kys

Why do they always have to fuck the Enterprise up?

Never came around to watch this after the first two absolute garbage shit turd nu-trek movies. is it any better?

das rite

Simon Pegg is a hack

that Spock scene at the end

Which time?

Also isn't it odd for a "flagship" to get destroyed so regularly.

Yes, easily the best of the three. Great action, cool starlfleet aesthetics, creature fx/makeup, sorta classic, campy vibes, good antagonist, reverent heartfelt callbacks to ToS.

>had his eyes closed for the 30 second shot of kirk in the escape pod seeing the enterprise crashing and his reflection in the window

Legit kino

This
I noticed he got almost all the screentime with the Ayy babe.
It did the best job yet of emulating the TOS characters, and the (short) space sequences looked really nice. They seriously fucked up the villain though. Also, yet again with the tendentious 9/11 allegories.

the destruction of the Enterprise is overdone as fuck
