What was clearly happening was that Cooper's body came out of the Lodge in ep 3 (hence the socket labelled 3), then in this ep, ep15, his mind came out from the socket again (hence the Lodge Electricity noises and socket marked 15). He couldn't just go out through #15 because he had to fix Dougie's life first the hard way.
