Pitch a Dredd Sequel

Even though there's no chance in hell it's actually gonna happen, let's say a producer comes to you and says 'Here's Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby, plus twice the budget of the last film, go nuts'.
How would you make it?

>Psychic mutant wants to stage a rebellion on Megacity 1, takes over a habitation block like the first movie
>Uses psychic powers and regular old manipulation to influence politicians and judges to look the other way while he gains power (I don't know if psychics can mind control people in the Dredd universe but a brainwashed civilian army would be cool)
>Starts taking over other hab blocks, gets a security team of judges on his side as muscle
>Dredd gets put in charge of getting things under control
>Once he realizes what's really going on he tracks down Anderson who's on the run trying to avoid execution for being a mutant
>She reluctantly joins, tracks the bad guy down with psychic powers
>Dredd and Anderson infiltrate his hideout, kill a bunch of dudes and eventually find the bad guy
>Anderson has a psychic battle with the bad guy while Dredd kills regular goons
>Anderson gets fucked up during the psychic battle but distracts the bad guy long enough for Dredd to kill him
>Anderson regains consciousness after the fight and looks Dredd right in the mask
>Dredd kills Anderson for not turning herself in at the end of the first movie

Begin with the Fatties. Use the eating contest comic where two teams must eat a whole bus.

But wasn't she sanctioned in the beginning of the movie? Why kill her, especially when he approved her?

fuck you it's my script

> Wait until Karl Urban is old
> Dredd's old now and taking the long walk
> Basically make it a Cyberpunk western with insane mutant gangs in the desert

They're making a Dredd TV show with him, lad.

thats mad max uninspired cunt

Realy?

anderson has to take on all the judges at the same time

she's totally drugged and on all fours for hours being pounded bareback

Yeh.

>Judge Minty - A Judge Dredd fan film
youtube.com/watch?v=aavS_XUITXU&t=3s

there is no good way to adapt judge death for the big screen

a villain that is morally in the right

but JD is compelled to stop him to uphold the rule of law

he shoots dudes but one of the dudes has superpowers and the dude goes crazy and clones himself one thousand times and dredd has to kill them all while dealing with a retarded fat lady who just dies horribly so nevermind that...?

That's awesome, last I heard of it nobody knew if they were going to try getting him in it.

Now I'm just waiting for news on Merc City...

I think they did a tremendous job with the Karl Urban movie, but the feel of the comic would only translate well to animation.

>a new squad of judges is tasked with recovering Dredd's body from a subterranean block in Megacity1 and restore law and order
>lead by Captain Psi Judge Anderson
>arrive on the scene and one Judge is immediately killed in fire and falls down to the depths of the bottom floor of the block a mile below ground
>two bodies to recover now
>team begins making their way downwards, a slow descent into Hell as each floor reveals more debauchery, crime, suffering, starvation, violence, and death
>wind up having to make a quick escape from a situation and the remaining squad members take the fast way down to the bottom, jumping, and using makeshift parachutes
>another dies on the way down
>at the bottom they find Dredd, who has been trapped down there where inhabitants can live on only filthy water and killing eachother over rats and moss that grows, who has killed all but one of the other inhabitants at the bottom floor for various crimes as he's been trapped there
>now they all have to get back to the top, get out, and restore the Law
>Dredd: Hellhole

This. Really blur that shit.

Robutt rebellion

>insane mutant gangs
Angel gang done right could be gud

the day the law died would be a great arc for the tv show.
mabey without the croc aliens...
