Was Band of Brothers well-known in other countries or only in America?

What did people in your country think about it?

Post nice series like it that are about your country's armed forces.

It was ok

Good show.

It's well known and well liked here.

>3333

this

>no BBC series yet about Christopher Lee's exploits during WWII

why not?

Probably the best mini-series/tv-show ever created.

BoB that is.

My great achievement in life is fucking one of the character's granddaughter in the ass.

Adding Saboteurs to my watch list, thanks senpai

Tiikerin torni on liian edessä.

well known and liked i think.
i was actually ordering it on blue ray recently.

Isn't that just the plot of "Heroes of the Telemark"?

Unser Mother Unser Father was better

Yep, i saw that show.
I wouldnt say it's good thing.
Modern american movies about ww2 like "saving private ryan" or this are boring and having too many stupid stamps.
But it's only my opinion i know a lot people who like similar movies.

>too many stupid stamps.
What?

Em...cliche. you know.

The Platoon is example of good american movie about war.

Yes, it is based on the same event. The Hollywood version butchered the original story though and the guys that participated in the sabotage got really pissed. They didn't like it at all.

It's a great show, saw it several times and read the book

>2001 was 42 years ago

Good show

Pleb opinion

I saw it. I enjoied it. Very well made show in general. Don't know if it was hostorically acurte, but it tried to show relations between people on the front of 2ww. I belive it did the job, ofcourse taking the correction, that it was metaphor delivered by the sunday tv show.

>tfw look up Richard Winters and Lewis Nixon
>both look like turbo chads in their youth
hard times breed strong men and all that I guess

What were you expecting

Band of Brothers is an unbelievable show. I put it up there with all time greats like Saving Pvt. Ryan and Idi i Smotri. Haven't seen Hacksaw Ridge yet but I heard it was pretty good.

Unser Mother Unser Father
Fucking hell, read the title again

American shows rarely stay in America.
I'll give it a watch, I love nordic tv

Do kind of agree. Even though they're well made there's always that annoying American attitude to war under the surface.
Movies like Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket and The Thin Red Line are much better in that regard, but generally I prefer European war movies. Things like Das Boot, Come and See, Crosses of Iron, Battle of Britain etc. I've heard there's a really good Finnish one that came out last year but I haven't seen it yet.

How do we become the next "greatest generation", bros?

Impeach Drumpf

good show

first time I've herd of that term for cliches. Sort of little interesting things I like to learn from Sup Forums instead of calling each other faggots.

wait for trump to lose enough of his shit and declare some retarded war.

How do we make that happen?

Banter him until he goes apeshit.

>Unser Mother Unser Father
Nice try

Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter, really is a good mini series though.

define "well known"
obv not as well known as big movies like saving private ryan, but i suppose well known for a war miniseries
i absolutely loved the show

no it wasn't and neither were GK or The Pacific

Haven't watched it desu. Does it go full murriga fuck yeah popopop watching nazi's drop or is it fairly nuanced?

Pretty nuanced desu. Give it a try

Jewish propaganda . Especially that concentration camp scene

It was well known here. It helped it contained lots of British actors.

Very well made series, but I think it did not make for very good story-telling due to trying to follow the original texts so exactly. It's hard to get invested in any of the characters.

I prefered The Pacific.

Funny, I found it much harder to get invested in the characters in The Pacific. It was hard to even tell them apart most of the time.

what happens in it?

Both BoB and the Pacific are fairly well known and I dont know anyone who didnt like them. They even came from our natioan broadcasting channel a few times.

>I've heard there's a really good Finnish one that came out last year but I haven't seen it yet.

First time a movie made me really realise the horrors of war. Like I it actually felt that it could have just as well been me in there. Every country should have a movie they could relate to like that

It's sort of known. You could see it on TV here and there. My father loved the series, though. I enjoyed it too, watched it twice. Liked The Pacific as well.

kys, retard

Based on true battle

I liked Band of brothers, it was a good movie. I don't know if other people liked it/watched it.

Das Boot is the superior WWII miniseries
